• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future

I liked it. It shows he grew up, he became more mature.

But he had reasons to brag about it, he REALLY knew more things than Ash, he could just ... ditch the girls and start his travel using Ash´s methods and still being a jerk, I don´t know, I liked the jerk Gary Oak

I just saw it as Gary growing up. They were obviously never going to make Ash and Gary continue to hate each other. They wanted them to leave on friendly terms. But even when Gary showed up in Sinnoh, you could tell he was still trying to push Ash's buttons and he was still able to get a reaction out of Ash like old times.

But they weren´t having the same goal anymore :(

I really do feel bad for Ash. The writers turned him into a complete idiot. They treated him so badly. Ash was at his best in Sinnoh, at least that's my opinion. He just had too many Pokemon this time around.

Yah, Best Wishes series really did treat Ash like crap, I hope they fix that the next series. They had a lot of things that didn't go so well this series with Ash..Too many Pokemon is just one of those few things..His and Trip's rivalry didn't really do a thing, if you'd even call it a rivalry I didn't even remember him at times he didn't even appear that much. Than yes, they didn't even let Ash get one single win in any tournaments to top things off. Say what you will about Ash/Paul's rivalry but at least it pushed Ash to train and work harder and act more mature when it came to things, you even saw more emotion come from him watching how Paul treated his Pokemon made him angry or sad almost depression due to getting crushed by Paul that two part battle, this is my opinion of course.

This league is one giant mess and I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the show when Ash looses, even none Ash fans will join in all the hate on this darn league, fun.

Just because your pet character wasn't portrayed as invincible as he was in Sinnoh does not mean the writers hate Ash. The Trip rivalry was bad and his over captures, but Ash is not God he can lose. I love Ash, but Ash stans never cease to amaze me. Most of the crying is over Cilan and Iris, Iris especially, getting screen time, guess people would rather them be cheerleaders on the sidelines.

Sorry for having an opinion, I never said he had to be treated like he was invincible but he needed to be treated better than he was in the Best Wishes series, even one win would have been better than this. If Best Wishes writers didn't hate him they sure had a funny way of saying they liked him, being beaten by a guy who always lost to every one else AKA Trip does not due him any favors.

Here is an idea, What if Pikachu does beat Lucario? Cameron loses because he was a moron and forgot to pack that sixth extra Pokemon.

However, if this episode is solely based on Pikachu vs Lucario, then we will probably get a cut scene to the battle between Ash vs Virgil.

LOL I can see it now, As soon as the lucario vs Pikachu battle ends, quick talk to cameron telling him not to give up blah blah blah. Then in the blink of an eye we are in Ash vs Vigil each down to their last pokemon and Ash loses

Team Plasma attacks the league? I doubt it, either way Ash will lose, question is which is more humiliating, losing to a Moron like Cameron or to Virgil.

I hope if Ash does face Virgil we don't see a Pikachu vs Eevee and Pikachu loses again

Ash's rivalries this saga, if you can even call them that, are insanely ****ing boring. It's not that friendly rivalries can't be done, it's that the characters have absolutely no chemistry. It seems like the only reason these particular characters are Ash's rivals this saga is because the writers thought they needed to give him one. What about Trip made him any more of a rival to Ash than any random charcter of the day that Ash has faced Absolutely nothing. They have no history like Ash and Gary and they don't have ideological differences like Ash and Paul. Trip comes off a just some pretentious, douchey stock character with very little substance outside from that. It seems like even the writers couldn't make up their mind what to do with after his third battle with Ash. Hilarious how he was dropped completely in favor of a complete Barry clone, a Barry clone with boobs, and a fat dude that's just as bland as Trip himself.

When these characters are dropped in the next episode I say good riddance. Hopefully they start fresh and give him Hyu or someone as a rival

I wouldn't say that's the only thing to their rivalry persay. As much as I don't like Paul...his rivalry is one of the best done of the show. (Though I do think the development he got felt out of place and poorly done...) It was more of two people with different training methods having a rivalry and which methods inherently work better. Paul's gets results fasters while Ash's works better overtime I'd rank it Ash/Gary=Ash/Paul (I love both battles but the Charizard battle has serious nostalgia for me, what can I say =P)>Ash/Kotetsu>Ash/Trip battle wise. Still disappointed about how it's played out. >.<

Ash vs Cameron is better then Ash vs Trip because it has more Pokemon to use. Ash vs Trip was lacking because it was forced into being a one on one preliminary round match up. Ash's battle with Cameron lacks intensity and drama, it seems more like two friends having a sparing match then two trainers going at it in the league. I have enjoyed the battle but it doesn't feel like the main event of the biggest tournament in the Unova region.

it didnt feel like that because the league is not the final thing in this saga :)

To me there was no best rival this series. Most of them barely appeared and when they did it was only for tournaments. Stephan is considered a better rival because he lacked a storyline or a background and he didn't do anything that would make people hate him.He was generic but likable at the same time. Some people viewed Trip as too arrogant and Bianca as too goofy or criticized them for not fitting certain expectations. With Stephan most people didn't really have high expectations for him so his league battle with Ash ended up being better then they thought. Plus he was Ash's only rival not to be taken down by Pikachu so people liked it better that Ash used his other Pokemon against him. Oshawott vs Blitzle to me was a better first battle then Pikachu vs Snivy or Pikachu vs Pignite.

Let's go to the beach, each.
lol I laughed ^
I like Stephan though, I think he was a nicely done friendly rival

Was he even a real rival? The guy first appeared as a character of the day and by character of the day I mean that there was absolutely no indication that he would ever appear again as a main character, and then suddenly he returned for the Club Battle, but even then he didn't feel like a main rival. But I agree with what that other person said; he was boring as heck. He had his own gimmick just like every other character, but that made him even more boring in my opinion. I wasn't here for him, nor will I ever be.

Anyway, when is this episode going to air? I'm tired of waiting to be honest.
