So here's another really bizarre poem that talks about the history of dead religions, theatre, castles, hills, rivers, vassals, and fish.
xD I'm half asleep right now, and I'm half asleep when I wrote this, so its bound to make minimal sense. I THINK I wrote something that has to do with how temporary everything is, but I'm not to sure. XD
By the Bridge
I past the wall today, and was stunned by its words
“We’re lost in our sleep, and dead to the light.”
Insecurity struck at the terrible sight.
Walking around, echoes in the hall;
Movements in time, answer the call.
Etching our in eternity all possible pasts,
Lines read slowly before the bewildered cast;
“Oh home, can you hear me? We’re violently dreaming,
And silently sleeping, and singing, yes singing,
All the while bleeding, amid the storm’s last breath.”
But I don’t know where to turn now,
As life has been divided into why’s and how’s
When’s and now’s, gone and to come,
Standing by the bridge, staring at ourselves
But we’re surprised to see we’re gone.
Home, can you hear me now? I’m alone
And afraid, amid the pantheon of fallen gods,
Tumbling down as fantasy decays
And turns into a better day,
Presumably not eclipsed by the factory smoke.
Laughter softens and penetrates the heart,
While anger scoffs and plays its part,
Singing out the lines to the song
We sang when we were young.
And if yesterday holds memories,
And if tomorrow holds doubt,
If we can’t see behind or straight
Can we find ourselves in the cloud with a shout?
Castles scar the hills,
And a river run dry carved the hill
And so as the mighty falls,
And as the creation is its vassal,
Then is the master he who rules the castle?
But if the castle falls, abandoned and decayed,
Does the hill regain independence?
If only my will was strong as the hill,
Created and destroyed only by the stream of time.
And now it appears, we’re all one fish in the sea,
But our scales gleam with our greatest might,
Our eyes wide with fear of the night,
Swimming in all directions
With no apparent purpose,
As we are enslaved by our power and pretensions,
Kings of the hill till we’re replaced,
And wonder what happened as we look out to space.
I saw hope on the wall today.
