Camp Ever After

Monster Guy

Fairy type Trainer
Discord Link: PM me

You have probably heard of stories like Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping beauty. Classic tales written a long time ago, that your parents probably read to you when you were a kid. Well, they're not just mere works of fiction you heard or read about, they are very much real. In another world, similar to our own, all the stories you know and love actually happened. Like our world, their world is constantly evolving over time. You are a descendant of one or more of these tales. Being the child of a famous has definitely had an impact on your life. For better or worse.

After all the stories have happened, many of the tales have moved on with their lives, and had children of their own. Much time has passed, and the kids have started to grow up. Several of the families did not want their kids growing up to repeat the mistakes they made. So, they decided to adapt to modern times. They got electricity and modern technology in combination with the natural magic of the world, the school system changed to reflect modern education standards, among other things. One of the changes they made was the formation of a Summer Camp, Camp Ever After in the Enchanted Forest.

The Enchanted forest is exactly what you imagine it to be. A lush, green forest, filled with trees and other foliage everywhere. Cute woodland animals run wild and free. There are also other magical creatures lurking in the woods. Don’t worry though, nothing dangerous can actually enter the camp. There are wards set up for that. There’s is a perfect clear blue lake that’s used for swimming in. The lake drains into a river for water activities like canoeing that needs more room.

Camp Ever After is a Camp fit for royalty. They boast large and comfortable cabins, gourmet meals, and a wide array of activities for campers to enjoy. Some activities include fencing, archery, swimming, canoeing, horseback riding, (including on the backs of unicorns if you are pure of heart) arts and crafts, magic lessons, and a lot more.

Camp Ever After encourages teamwork and socializing with your fellow campers. Healthy competition is also encouraged. To promote this, the campers are split up into teams based on what cabin they’re in. Throughout your time at camp, campers will be given points for doing well in camp activities and doing good deeds. They can also be taken away for breaking the rules. (Just because some of your parents were villains does not give you the right to do whatever you want.)

Camp Ever After is a place for the children of famous Fairy Tale Characters to figure out who they are as individuals, outside of their parents story in a safe, and fun environment. Will you follow in your family’s footsteps, or forge your own path? The choice is up to you.

Welcome to my second attempt at a fairy tale RPG. This time your character will be the child of a famous fairy tale character attending summer camp alongside other people like you.

I would like to stress the words famous and fairy tale. The last time I tried something like this, I got a whole bunch of obscure myths and legends I’d never even heard of. I’m looking for well known fairy tales of European origin, or that are internationally recognized. I get the final say if your Tale is allowed, so ask me if you’re not sure. I’m sorry if this is an inconvenience to you. I’m hoping playing as these characters children instead of the characters themselves gives RPers more creative freedom in building a character. I’d like to see some children of some well known characters. Maybe if we get a lot of players, I’ll open it up to more obscure people. We’ll see.

The plot of this RPG is loose. It will depend on the characters that join, and what sort of actions they take. How this fairy tale ends is up to. I have a Discord channel where we can discuss things. I am sure there are things that will need to be discussed.

Name: Prince Timothy White

Alias/Nickname: Tim, Timmy

Parent(s): Snow White and the prince

Age: 14

Gender: Male

Appearance:
fqlkc0y.png

When people see him, people can immediately tell he is the son of Snow White. He inherited the fair skin and dark hair is mother is famous for. Tim is noticeably short for a young man his age. It's not something he likes people bringing up. People have joked that his dad must have been one of the dwarves. Despite seeming weak and fragile based on his personality, he is actually stronger than he looks. He has a mop of black hair on top of his head, and his bangs go to his eyebrows. He has big brown eyes, a small nose, and a round "Babyface", which give him a youthful appearance. His face is clean-shaven, and his upper body is free of any hair except the top of his head and eyebrows. A lot of people consider him cute, but Tim finds getting that kind of attention embarrassing. As the son of the fairest of them all, he is destined to be gorgeous when he grows up.

Were it up to him, Tim would dress in more casual and simple clothes. Things that he doesn't have to fuss about, as well as things that are comfortable. However, his mom picks out his clothes, so he dresses a bit fancier than most kids. As is fitting of a prince. He usually wears shades of red and white. His current outfit consists of a red dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up. Over this, he wears a white vest, and a matching pair of white dress pants on the bottom. His shoes are pair of fancy red dress shoes. He completes the look with a white cap that his mom knitted for him. Tim is grateful that his mom packed some more practical clothes for doing camp activities.

Personality: Tim is as pure and innocent as his mother was when she was his age. However, he is a lot shyer than his mother. He is a shy and quiet individual by nature. He was always this way, and being bullied as a kid didn't help. He is very sensitive and emotional. He can easily be driven to tears when he's sad. He fears being bullied. He usually speaks with a quiet voice, and occasionally a stutter when he's nervous. He also becomes very apologetic when someone shows any hint of being upset. He likes animals of all kinds. From the cute ones to the not so cute ones, he can find something to love about every species. He usually prefers being with animals than with people. Animals will listen without judgement, and only expect a little kindness in return. He is gentle and softspoken, which seems to be the reason why he has such an easy time with animals. He gets scared easily, his worst phobia being stage fright. He gets really nervous when there are a lot of people watching him do anything. He's scared that he'll mess up, and that he'll be laughed at. He really wants to be brave, but it's harder than it looks.

Despite being shy, he is by no means antisocial. If you talk to him, you'll find he's quite friendly, and polite. He can laugh and make jokes like any other kid. He is always happy to have to new friends, because his shyness makes it difficult to make them. He is very affectionate and loyal to those he likes. He hates it when people are angry around him, so he tries his best to keep the peace. In conversations, he is usually more of a listener than a talker, and he has no problems being a sounding board when someone wants to vent (As long as they don't hurt him.) Tim is very kind to others, often to a fault. He is very trusting of people, and is willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Tim is usually very difficult to anger, and is very quick to forgive someone when he does get mad. He doesn't want to burden others with his problems, and he fears being made fun of, so he keeps them to himself. This causes him personal frustration, and he occasionally acts passive agressive towards those he disagrees with because of it. When it gets to be too much, he'll lash out at the target, and let out his pent up rage. He dislikes bullying (towards himself or others,) as well as people being needlessly cruel to animals. Doing one of those things is the best way to get him upset.

Tim is very careful and calculating. He always thinks before he speaks, and prefers not to wrecklessly jump into danger. However, due to his insecurity he is often uncertain if the choices he makes are the right ones. He can easily be convinced to change his mind. This leaves him with some anger when the plan fails and he knew his original idea would have worked. He also doesn't like violence all that much, having been a victim of it most of his life. Although he doesn't look like it, Tim has a big appetite. He likes eating many different kinds of foods, and has the cooking skills to match.

History: Tim was born in the land of tales. He is the son of Queen Snow White, and her prince. Being born a prince, Tim was born into a lot of wealth and privilege. He lives in a big fancy castle, and he has access to the best of everything. Still, Snow White liked giving her son some sense of normalcy so he wouldn't grow up to be a spoiled brat. Snow still does housework around the castle, and Tim still has chores to do. They also visit the seven dwarves in their cottage in the Enchanted Forest on a regular basis. Tim's parents did all they could to give their son a good life, and give him every advantage. While they expressed having high hopes for their son's success, they tried not to put too much pressure on the boy. They did however stress the fact that he would one day take over for his mother as king one day. A thought that makes Tim nervous even now.

For the most part, his life was normal. Despite being a prince, Tim was often a target of bullying because of his shyness, tendency to get scared easily, he was short, having clumsy moments, or because he wasn't into things most boys were interested in. He got a lot of flak from other boys for being a son of Snow White, instead of a daughter, and for the things his mother did in her story No matter what he did to get them to stop it, it always failed or they found something else to give him crap about. It gave him self-esteem issues, resulting in him becoming even more timid. As a result, he had very few friends growing up. He didn't tell anyone about the bullying, lest it become worse. He saw other kids get beaten up much worse after they snitched, and he didn't want that to happen. So he kept it all inside and let his resentment build.

From an early age, Tim realized he inherited his mother's special connection with animals. They seem to be fond of him due to his softspoken nature. He often finds sick, or injured animals and cares for, plays with, and feeds them when no one else will. Around animals, Tim felt much more like himself. He found relief from the stresses of life, and he's found they are the best friends he could ask for.

When Tim was 14, Snow White enrolled his at Camp Ever After. Thinking he would enjoy being in the great outdoors, and it would be a good opportunity to make friends his own age. Tim was both excited, and scared at the prospect. The great outdoors was nice, but he was not looking foward to meeting new people part.

Magic Touch: Just like his mom, Tim has a special connection with animals. They come to him when he sings, and he can communicate with them, and can have them do things for him.

Other: Tim loves apples, and apple flavored things. He gets it from his mom. Yes his mother was nearly killed by one, that’s not the apple’s fault.

Since he talks to animals, eating meat is out of the question.

Has a lovely singing voice. Animals seem to love it, at least. Of course, he doesn't want actual humans to hear him singing.

Done!
(I'm also well aware everything about being a djinn is OP, but as promised, I will not abuse this Mon, and put in restrictions.)

Name: Adian
~ As far as he knows neither his mother or father have a surname, ergo, neither does he.

Alias/Nickname: Genie Kid
~ Seriously his name is short enough, it's not like he gets called anything else unless it's for 'creative' reasons.

Parent(s): Genie x Eden
~ Yes, that Genie, the imprisoned djinn from Aladdin’s tale that was only ever called Genie, to the point he started to recognize it as his name. This is the equivalent of a human's dad being named Person.
~ Eden, his mother, is another djinn, far less known then her male counterpart, but no less powerful, unfortunately unlike her lover, she is still imprisoned by humans in a bottle.

Age: 16

Gender: Male (most of the time)

Appearance:
7ANANKD.png
cYeVdYb.png

Adian is a djinn, therefore his true form is essentially magic imbued light purple smoke, but as that form makes it hard to interact with others, he spends most his time in a human-like form. His human-like form is of that of a well toned, average height, teen boy with messy shoulder length hair. Though since he can change form so easily at will, this form will sometimes have a ghostly tail instead of legs. In all his forms he is a vivid light purple color, with one purple-blue/indigo eye and one red one. His magical hair is a mottled deep blue, purple, and magenta, glowing bright with specks of stardust. In his human-like form he also has a small pointed nose and dark purple eyebrows.

For clothes in his human form, he rejects the genie stereotypes and dresses fairly punk-goth. He wears a black and purple jacket, decorated with spikes and chains, over purposely torn and patched black pants. He accessorizes this with a small purple cape (that flutters even without a breeze), fingerless black gloves with knuckle spikes, and heavy black and purple boots. He is able to change clothes at will, but rarely sees the need to unless it is for dramatic/comedic effect. As a magical creature that sleeps in smoke form while contained in a small space (so he doesn't blow away), he really has no need for night clothes. Speaking of which, Adian generally sleeps in small golden lamp, though he is a free spirit and not magically linked to it the same way his parents are linked to their lamp and bottle, it's just convenient.

Personality:
Adian is a very powerful magical being, but he's also a confused and frustrated teenager. The result is a somewhat rash, rebellious boy, who may try things he should not. He's got issues with authority because despite how powerful he is he is usually being bossed around because he's a kid, in addition to what he's seen his mom go through. As a result he may seem a little grumpy or irritable.

But though he may seem anti-social and disagreeable at first glance, he really is capable of getting along with others. He has learned that other people need to be judged as individuals on their own merit, and would admittedly like to find some friends his age. Not that his father's friends aren't great, but they're certainly not his peers, and they're a constant reminder that his father was once imprisoned to one of them, the way his mother currently is to her master.

Adian is more inclined to be dramatic with his shape-shifting, rather then comical like his father, but he certainly isn't above it. He's very serious about the rest of his magic as he's well aware it could backfire or fail, and the results could be quite devastating. Speaking of such things he is also wary of bodies of water, due to the fact that being wet and/or cold can hamper a djinn's magic, which isn't fully developed at his age to start with.

History:
Long ago, before the time of man, god forged beings out of fire and wind. These djinn, though very powerful, had a very simple weakness, they could become trapped in small objects, like rings, bottles, jars, boxes, and lamps. Now, when released from such prisons by a human (or other creature) kinder djinn would often offer their rescuer a wish in thanks, while more malevolent ones would kill them for mankind's being foolish enough to create such objects in the first place. Over time greedy men learned how to capture djinn indefinitely, bending their magic to their will.

Two such djinn, Genie and Eden, were imprisoned in a lamp and bottle respectively, and they served many masters. After thousands of years, when Genie was freed, he would eventually encounter another djinn, Eden, who was still imprisoned. Though the pair tried to wait for her to be free as well, after dozens of masters failing to wish her free, they finally decided they could wait no longer. Thus out of their union came a rare occurrence, a new djinn was formed.

The small puff of purple smoke, which could become a human-like baby at will, was whisked away by his father into the the night, before his mother's master found out about the existence of the magical child. It was bad enough to have a fiance that that was imprisoned indefinitely, but it would be unbearable for his child to end up the same way. And so Genie raised the child mostly on his own, taking him to visit his mother only when her masters were away.

It was a very strange life for the young djinn. His father had human friends that he hung out and palled around with, one of whom freed him, while his mother slaved to please various human masters, some of who claimed they would free her, but never did. As a result Adian grew confused and frustrated, eventually confronting his father for being so chummy with humans when they kept his mother prisoner. Genie sat him down and shared his experiences, good and bad, explaining that people need to be judge on their own merits. Humans were capable of being corrupt and evil, but they were also capable of being good and true. And djinn, in all honestly, were no different.

Feeling Adian was not getting enough interaction with people his own age, Genie has sent Adian to camp, despite his objections. He wasn't going to learn any new magic here, nor would he actually need any of the other skills they teach, right? The idea of trying to find some friends his ages was not too objectionable, but why did he need to jump through the hoops of camp to do it?

Magic Touch: Finite Cosmic Power
Adian's powers are still developing and he can only make limited use of them. His spell-casting is still very much hit and miss, and can have unfortunate consequences should things go particularly wrong. It also becomes particularly prone to being 'on the fritz' during cold and wet weather due to the fiery nature of djinn. It also is bound by the laws of djinn magic;
- Djinn cannot make anyone fall in love, or otherwise change their emotions/thoughts.
- Djinn cannot kill anyone directly with magic, though their actions could ultimately result in death if they or others are being reckless.
- Djinn cannot grant powers to others that equal or exceed their own, however in the case of those wishing to be genies*, they can come close.
- No djinn is powerful enough to destroy the planet, and aren't we grateful for that.
- Djinn must not bring anyone back from the dead.
- Djinn must not produce money for their own use.
- Different kinds of magic should not be mixed.

His strongest magical ability at present is shape-shifting. As a being made of magic smoke, he can also take any from he pleases, though he can get worn out from changing too much, as well as become trapped if someone seals him into a confined space while he is in a smaller or smoke-like form.

*A genie is a magical creature (usually a djinn), that has been imprisoned to serve humans.

Name: Sylvia Spinster

Alias/Nickname: Princess Sylvia, The Goblin Princess

Parent(s): Rumpelstiltskin (via trade/adoption)

Age: 18

Gender: Female

Appearance:
pljUj66.png
lawxwSM.png
With fair skin, rosy cheeks, and voluminous turquoise-silver hair, Sylvia would look a lot like a porcelain doll, were it not for her goblin upbringing. Her face is a delicate oval, with a pointed chin, and small well defined nose. Her small delicate lips are a glossy pale red, and her large turquoise eyes shine as if they were the glass eyes of a doll.

But her hair is done up in double leather bound puffy ponies, with short front bangs and long side bangs, and decorated with bones. Both her ears have multiple piercings on both the lobe and helix, plus she also has both a lip ring, and tongue piercing, and possibly a few unseen piercings.

For clothes she usually wears fine dresses, with loose skirts for mobility. She usually wears long stockings and flats or boots underneath. Her favorite dress is a long sleeveless magenta, pink, and white combo, with a close fitting collar, decorative apron-bib, and layered skirt. Usually she wears light armor of bracers and a chest guard on the heart side, over her dresses as well.

Her swimwear consists of a two piece red suit with mesh sections. With it she usually wears a pair of black and red flip flops and a red bracelet. She also keeps her hair in a simplified version of her style while swimming. Dressed down like this you can also see the double banded tattoo on her leg.

Personality:
Sylvia carries herself like a princess, or at least the goblin warrior version of such. She has high standards and expectations, though they are sometimes strange, but she is rarely directly rude without provocation. She can be sharp tongued in retaliation though if she needs to, knowing quite a few goblin curse words, which are generally considered even worse then human variety of curse words.

Honestly, she has a bit of a temper, which is mostly a learned trait, from watching her father, who occasionally flew into such a rage he hurt himself. He never touched the girl though, this was an important thing she observed, that his anger was never physically directed at another being. Which isn't to say he'd never hurt a fly, he most certainly hurt others, if he felt the ends justified the means.

Fierce and determined, Sylvia is reluctant to rest until she's accomplished her goals. She's made quite a name for herself among the goblins, both as a bow wielding warrior, and an accomplished apprentice of magic. She not as good at manipulation or deal making as her father, but she certainly may try on occasion. She does hope to be able to follow in his footsteps someday, since she regards him as her personal hero. It may seems strange to not long for the birth parents he won her from, but if they'd have wanted her, they wouldn't have traded her to him to start with. So as far as she's concerned, Rumpelstiltskin is her real father.

Her understanding of good and evil is skewed from that of the average person, since goblins usually have a reason for doing the things that make most people see them as villainous. Even Rumpelstiltskin himself tried to avoid this by making deals to accomplish his goals, rather then stealing, but that didn't work out that well at all.

She does have a few odd or bad habits she's picked up from the goblins; such as sneaking around and being nosy, usually lying when confronted about even mundane things, stealing things she likes, and spitting regardless of one's company.

Romantically Sylvia is a bit promiscuous, exploring the ideas of relationships with all sorts of people. She's not necessarily figured out her type yet, but she does believe that the right person will practically worship the ground she walks on.

History:
You may have heard tale of a grumpy little imp or goblin that appears to people looking to make a deal, and tried to trick the miller's daughter (now a queen) into giving him her first born. But she begged him for a way out, and he offered to let her out of the contract if she guessed his name. But when she learned his name, Rumpelstiltskin (literally little goblin), and broke the contract, he flew into such a rage, he made a hole in the floor and flew away on a stolen ladle.

But few stop to consider the motivation behind his desperate attempts to obtain a child. Did he want to eat it? Was he going to sell it? Was there some spell or potion he needed the blood of a child for?

Truth be told, he was a lonely old magic user that had never wed, but desperately wanted a child to love, and who maybe could carry on his magical legacy. So when he obtained some other couple's child, treat her with so much love and care. He called the girl Sylvia, a reference to silver (another of his favorite things), and did everything in his power to make her feel safe and wanted, treating and outfitting her much like one would a princess. To Sylvia he became a role model and hero.

She grew up more around goblins then humans, picking up a lot of their socially awkward in human society habits, and learning more survival skills such as archery then school subjects, though she must certainly is literate, in two languages in fact. She also learned a lot of magic from her father, and her aptitude delighted him, particularly in his own best skill of transmutation; that is the ability to turn one material into another. Her father after all was particularly famous, or rather infamous for turning straw into gold.

Sylvia though was curious about the human's society and when she learned of Camp Ever After, she begged her father that she might attend as well. He reluctantly agreed, but only on the condition that she tell no one of him. She would be better accepted, and make more friends, if they did not know she was the daughter of someone the humans considered to be such an awful villain.

Magic Touch:
Sylvia has been learning magic from her father, particularly transmutation, in which she can change what an object is made out of. So far she's figure out how to change straw into silver, but not yet gold.

Other: You know how a lot of princesses can call animals to assist them? Sylvia can speak the goblin language, so that’s kind of like that.

Flirtin' With Disaster
WIP

Name: Socratesia, The Sockpuppet Teenager of Oz

Alias/nickname:The Sockpuppet Teen of Oz, Socks

Parent(s): The Scarecrow and Scraps The Patchwork Woman(nee Girl) of Oz. Her Godmothers are Polychrome the Rainbow's Daughter, Princesses Dorothy Gale, Betsy Bobbin, Mayre "Trot" Griffiths, and Queen Ozma of Oz, and her Godfather is The Tin Woodsman.

Age: "14"

Gender: Female, unsure if non-binary, queer or not

Appearance: Unlike her Straw father and quilted mother, Socks is made of socks and, stockings (and a little upholstery) of various makes, colors and fabrics. Her face is made from fabric that has been sewn as to provide a more human texture, with eyes made of black buttons and white socks(and eyelids, lashes and brows!), a nose, cheeks, a chin, a moving mouth, and even dimples!

She is stuffed with socks in colors corresponding to the organs that they are equivalent to. Her "Dress" is made of standard-issue Oz green military socks, her "shoes" are pointed like a Wicked Witch's(though she sewed this onto her "feet" as a fashion statement) and are made of red stockings of the "Christmas" Kind(Dorothy's idea), complete with faux-fur trim. She has her mother's stringy hair, but thicker, and in red, purple and green, and she has "modded" it(Sewn in extra pieces) to give herself her own flair. She's thicker than her father(in the physical sense) and, instead of his hat she wears a tin ribbon bow with a protective sigil made by the Good Witch of the North(A gift from the Woodsman himself)

Personality: Socratesia, unlike her wise and intelligent father and excitable and athletic mother, is rather rash, but slow-moving, supposedly due to to her brains being made of...school uniform socks. She has a habit of methodically walking into situations w/o thinking of the consequences.

But, she hides her true capabilities under this facade:She's much smarter, wiser, more academic and in general has a bigger brain than her father, and is so athletic and conceals so much energy that she can jump over a fully extended Hammer-Head with no trouble. Socks also loves to daydream, with her dreaming happening whenever she's bored or listening to music. She dreams of her next "project", mostly. Socks is a bit of a "fashionista", but due to her habit of sewing new types of fabric onto herself, it could be interpreted as...something else.

Her other passion is attempting to break into magic, despite her...being magical already. She's mediocre(But has a permit), though she has some skill in basics. She also wants to find a magical workaround to the yellow butterfly wings ingredient in the Powder of Life. Why? She believes that it brings out the hidden life in all objects, and that said life has a right to express itself and live actively, and that the Powder is the key to giving all things that freedom.

Socratesia is naive about some non-Oz concepts, such as death and misery, and she hasn't experienced many things a normal teen has, like puberty, childhood naivete, and heartbreak...yet. So she tends to try and figure these realities out using her mighty brain. Which leads to headaches and frustration...which are pretty typical teenage feelings. She also has emotional control issues from her early life, but training with the Tin Woodsman has mitigated this to some degree. Socks is often quite unintentionally rude to people due to having not been taught politeness until she experienced teasing.

History: When the Scarecrow and the Patchwork Girl decided that they'd "grown up(With the Girl becoming the WOMAN) after the war with Wonderland and Narnia, they decided to marry(Being wed by Ozma herself), and have a child. To that end, they tracked down the depowered Dr Pipt, creator of the Powder of Life, to see if he had a remaining "stash" of the substance.

However, Pipt was incapacitated(No one can die in Oz, no matter their fate), his head turned to marble. The newlywed duo soon found the culprit:Another unlicensed magic user named Lace-Singer the Fabricant, who wanted to plunder the knowledge and resources of other deprived, depowered and disintegrated Ozites, like the Wicked Witches, The Nome King, and Pipt. Lace-Singer was defeated when his thread song(his form of magic) was disabled due to Scarecrow seeing that his magic depended on the free motion of a strand of golden twine in the song's construct. By twanging it, Lace-Singer dissolved into a puddle of lace.

The Crows(The name they took) reported this to Ozma, and, as a reward for stopping the rouge unlicensed mage, Glinda would grant them a boon. Scraps Crow decided on a cloth child , but Scare Crow thought to make the child a teenager whose eternal youth and life would never be wasted. Glinda agreed, but specified that they needed a consistent material to make their child out of. And the only material that was just lying around were unusable socks. So, using Scarecrow's wisdom, The Woggle-Bug's knowledge, and Glinda's magic, they made a more accurate humanoid teenager out of the mountain of socks, who could experience things that the soon-to-be parents couldn't such as the motions of breathing and blinking. Like new parents, they got every possible scrap of sock and, when those ran out, stockings...later, upholstery had to be used to fill areas...Everything was going great until the dawn they were to create create their child..but Glinda, while accruing thread, accidentally used a rather familiar golden twine strand...but she sensed the evil within, and purified it...but, after the expectant mother and father were told that the personality of the thread's originator would still slightly influence the now life's life, Straps rashly asked that the child be gifted with a sense of restraint...Glinda added this, but in a uncharacteristically haphazard way at the last minute...and thus, Socratesia, the Sockpuppet Teen of Oz of Oz, was born!

Socratesiaa at first appeared to be unintelligent bordering on non-sapient, but she then walked up to Glinda and said..."PleasePleasePlease can I have a Magic Permit?!" Glinda put forth the paperwork for her to have a Magic Learner's Permit.

Socratesia quickly took the nickname Socks, and began life. She quickly grasped that she wasn't normal, as her schoolmates at Oz Preparatory realized that she had some biiggg mental gaps, such as a bulwark to teasing(which lead to the early nickname Dollface, which, with her at the time not understanding crudeness, lead to a rude awakening when she asked her father what a "dollface" was. Angered, she lashed out at the boys who called her that, scarring one with a pencil), and understanding what courtesy is.

Distraught, she fled one weekend to the Winkies' Country to talk to "Uncle Tin" to be coached on matters of emotion and the heart. The tin Woodsman was glad to teach her, and, on Sundays, she studied on how to have a controlled and kind heart with him.

One Sunday, a magic-iinfused note flew to the Emerald City, and smacked Socks in the face. Not knowing what " the post" was, she didn't know what is was for, but was able to read the gist of it...something about an invitation to a "Camp" beyond the Dreadful Desert, but, since it had mentioned the "UK", and "camp", , which required Socks her to see The Shaggy Man about it. The Shaggy Man told her the post was a form of delivered message by a mailperson, and that she had been selected by some unknown power to represent OZ at a camp(A getaway for young people) as part of Oz's next generation. Socks was delighted, and asked Ozma if she could go and Glinda how to get there. Ozma gave permission, and Glinda gave her a gem that she could use to go there one, and back once. Socks grasped the gem, and, in a flash, was warped out of Oz to literal parts unknown(To her)...

(Dr. Pipt was healed, but his personality became...kinda rocky.)

Magic Touch: Besides being what amounts to a fabric golem, Socks is a basic magic user on a
Magician's Learner's permit. She can counterspell, countercharm, countercurse, detect the presence of malefic or fey magic, make basic-to-minimally advanced potions, drafts and serums, and she is attempting to recreate the Powder of Life with a workaround for the Tin Woodsman-forbidden ingredient, Winkie Country Yellow Butterfly Wings. She also has a bow with a protective sigil that prevents her from being cut or scratched.

Other:
Calling her a mannequin, Fabricant or a golem will earn you a vial of serum to your face. So don't. No, really. Don't.

Why not both?
Hi! Can I have a reserve? Just gonna throw a WIP here

Name: Orion

Alias/Nickname: Mermaid

Parent(s): The Little Mermaid (Ariel) & Prince Eric

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Appearance: When it comes to her appearance, Orion can most likely be described as ‘graceful’. With her fair skin, slim build, and flowing, waist-length blue hair, she looks exactly as elegant and otherworldly as one would expect from someone who is (technically) a princess of both the sea and the land. She also carries herself well, with an impeccable posture and dignity befitting of her status, and somehow manages to seem graceful despite walking with a slight limp when on land. Besides that, though, she has little in common with the stereotypical fairy-tale princess. She despises fancy dresses, and while on land, typically dresses in a sweater and (occasionally ripped) jeans, and more often than not nothing else — spending most of her life underwater, she finds most clothes to be uncomfortable. She also goes everywhere barefoot, finding footwear uncomfortable, and the soles of her feet are rough and calloused — certainly not the feet of royalty. She rarely ever smiles, her face almost always set in a neutral expression.

In human form, she’s of average height, and has a slender build, although with a bit more muscle than would be normal (since swimming is pretty strenuous). Her mermaid form has a long, almost shark-like tail with multiple things and a rough surface, rather than the typical scales and normal fish tail, being almost twice as long as her upper torso. Her eyes are a vibrant ocean-blue, matching perfectly with her hair. Sometimes, she carries an unremarkable acoustic guitar on her back — when she does, her limp gets noticeably worse, as it does whenever she carries anything of significant weight. She dresses in colours that are reminiscent of the ocean — a blend of both light and dark blues, with the occasional bit of green thrown in. In her mermaid form, she wears an enchanted sash around her waist and the traditional shell-bra.

Personality:
Orion is neutral. That’s the defining aspect of her personality. She never takes sides, and is an expert at avoiding all conflict. She’s content to simply be by herself with her music, not on anyone’s bad side but not really friends with anyone either. She has no friends but also no enemies, and most people would view her simply as an ‘acquaintance’, or, at best, a ‘friend for those times when I have nobody else to spend time with’. Orion doesn’t particularly mind this — as long as she doesn’t make an enemy out of anyone, that’s enough in her book. In truth, she often finds herself feeling lonely, but is too wary of forming a deep attachment to others to really reach out and seek out friends. Better to be lonely than to be blinded by emotion, like her mother was. In fact, many of her actions end up being defined by two things — trying to avoid making the mistakes Ariel did, and at the same time trying to fill the void that she had left behind. Of course, the two goals are rather contradictory, and so she more often than not finds herself lost and unsure of what to do.

She’s also very capable of finding beauty in anything. Be it the patterns in a tile floor, or the way a particular leaf floats in the wind, she seems to spend her days perpetually fascinated by anything and everything. You could say she spends her entire life in a perpetual state of ‘isn’t this beautiful?' — more often than not, you’ll find her sitting on her own, staring at something completely benign. Perhaps because of this, she has a unique talent for music and also mathematics, being almost obsessed with patterns in anything and everything. Contrary to what you might expect from a musician, she believes that everything has a pattern that can be defined by math and science — something that, perhaps, stems from her rejection of all things passionately emotional, which most theorise is a result of her mother’s unfortunate story. Nevertheless, it’s hard to deny that she has a talent for music, and her songs have a certain sort of strange beauty to them, less like a emotional painting and more like a wonderfully crafted piece of architecture. Of course, she also has a beautiful voice, just like her mother.

History: Most of you, I’m sure, know the story of the Little Mermaid. Having fallen in love with a Prince, she saves him from drowning and made a deal with a witch for a chance to walk on land and win his heart — but at a cost. She lost her voice, and whenever she walked, her feet hurt like she was stepping on knives. But most importantly, should he ever wed someone else, she would fade into sea foam. She became a dancer, dancing for the prince despite the pain it caused her, and eventually the two grew close — but right when things seemed to be going well, the Prince found the woman he’d been searching for (a coincidence had left him thinking that that particular princess had been the one to save him from the ocean), and married her, unknowingly leaving the Little Mermaid to fade away into the ocean as he does.

But Ariel had left something behind her when she turned into water — a child, conceived with the Prince (unknowingly to him) during her time as a dancer. The baby girl was left alone in the water, but she did not drown — because she, too was a mermaid. Ariel’s sisters found her sleeping near the surface where her mother had vanished, calmly, without a care in the world. Instinctively recognising her as the child of their sibling, the sisters brought her back to King Triton’s palace, where she was named Orion, and raised as a princess of the ocean.

Even at an early age, Orion was somewhat of an odd girl. She spent little time playing with the other children of the palace, and instead spent her time in the libraries, observing the books and learning about the ocean and the stars from the old scribe who all but lived there. Triton and his daughters did not concern themselves too much with her antisocial tendencies — despite the fact that she’s technically a princess, and the fact that they had all loved her mother very much, it couldn’t be helped that that very same mother had renounced the ocean and conceived a child (out of wedlock, no less) with a human prince, which was unthinkable in every way. If a creature born of such monstrous circumstances decided to keep to themselves, then let them. Orion was never bullied, but because of her past (which nobody tried to hide from her), she was always treated as a sort of separate entity from all the other children.

Despite the fact that Orion expressed her desire to remain in the library, Triton decided that it would be a disservice to his daughter if he allowed her daughter to remain cooped up in a library her entire life. Thinking that more contact with the magical world of fairy tales would perhaps be able to transform Orion into the daughter Ariel would have wanted, he enrolled her in Ever After Camp. Initially, it was very much against her wishes, but after Orion went above the water, she grew fascinated with the different forms of life and nature that bloomed up there, and began to spend more and more time on land despite her leg pains. Liking this change in his granddaughter, Triton gave her his blessing to come and leave the ocean as she pleased, knowing that she would not be so foolish as to fall in love with a human like her mother did.

Magic Touch:
Song of the Ocean / Siren Song:
  • Orion’s music, or, more specifically, her voice, has the power to… control things. When she sings, she can call the wind, and control water — as it is, she can only create a strong breeze, and do nothing more than make swirling patterns of water in the air, but her elders believe that this is only the beginning of what her powers can do.
  • She is also capable of inducing emotions in other people, but this is a power she has a personal distaste for, and doesn’t use often. It’s also less effective on individuals with a strong will, as well as beings who are inherently magical (basically everyone here at camp).
  • She can also control animals to a limited capacity with this, and you’ll often see her singing to ants to make them form giant intricate patterns on the floor. It’s less like mind control and more of her asking really nicely and the animals being eager to please.
Half/Half and Ursula’s Curse: As a half mermaid / half human, she has the ability to shift between both forms at will (her clothes also magically transform, for some reason). However, some of her mother’s curse was passed on to her, and her feet/legs tend to hurt if used for a long time, or doing strenuous tasks like carrying heavy things — she’s also incapable of singing for long before her voice almost literally breaks, and transforms from the typical melodious tone to something more akin to choking and coughing.

Other:
- She has a certain irrational hatred for those who came from stereotypically romantic stories, feeling resentful that their stories worked out so perfectly while her mother's did not, for seemingly no reason. She knows it's incorrect and tries to keep it from showing, but emotions are hard.

Metallic Wonder
Slam dunking a WIP here for now.

Name: Lillian "Lillie" Strauss
Alias/Nickname: Due to her mothers poor reputation, many people simply refer to Lillie as "The hag". She is completely unbothered by this.
Parent(s): The Candy Witch (From Hansel and Gretel)
Age: 16
Gender: Female
iMAZYbp.png

Appearance: Lillie is a petite young woman standing at around 164 Cm tall, making her a bit on the short side. She makes up for her lack of height in her posture, however, as she always stands straight with her head held high, adding the illusion that she's taller than she really is. She is generally flat-chested with little to no cleavage to speak of, and she has fair skin which is completely blemish free as if by magic. One of Lillie's most notable traits is her long blonde hair, which she keeps in an elegant style by the use of a large red bow. The tips of her long hair is also curled, removing some of its length to reach her lower waist. She also keeps her long bangs covering her face at all times, as she used to be a shy girl, hiding away from people in plain sight. Under her long bangs, she has pale greyish blue eyes which despite their relatively innocent looks, always give people the creeps.

For clothing, Lillie dresses in a flamboyant and colorful fashion. One look at her, and one wouldn't guess she's the daughter of the infamous hag who cooks children alive. Her signature dress is red with black spots on it, making it resemble the surface of a strawberry. She wears an off-the-shoulder white shirt with light green frills adorning it, showing off her shoulders and petite frame. She wears white tigh-high stockings with lace at the top, paired with a pair of pale creamy white shoes. She's not one to dress for practicality, and her fashion sense can often be described as misleading, flamboyant or otherwise.. "Cute". ugh..

Personality: Looking at Lillie, it is easy to assume she's a bubbly, cute and girly girl due to her colorful appearance. This is very far from the truth, however, as Lillie is pretty much the opposite of the above. While she does acts with a certain feminine elegance and politeness, Lillie has a certain unnerving aura surrounding her. From her creepy smile to her ominous giggling, Lillie is not one bothered by the social norms regarding how one is supposed to act, rather going out of her way to act the way she wants instead of regarding other peoples feelings.

Speaking of disregarding other people, Lillie has very little regard to the feelings of other people. She mainly ignores the concept of personal space, and would definitely stand awkwardly close to people; close enough for you to smell her sickeningly sweet fragrance. Her near constant sweet smell is normally the first thing people notice when she's near, as Lillie is able to stealthily move around without alerting others, or making them aware of her. She moves with grace, purpose, and most notably: completely muffled.

Lillie is a very intelligent girl, and enjoys most forms of learning. Anything from social observations, cooking skills and generally ways of utilizing everything she knows in order to make seemingly harmless things able to hurt someone, she finds a way. She is one of those people who would prefer being alone with a good educational book than to interact with other people. Her main goal is quite simple as well: She wants to utilize things she learns in her magic. She is a competent witch, if not nowhere as powerful as her mother, and utilizing magic for her own personal gain is her main goal in life. Her own personal goals is not a strictly negative thing or a wish to harm everything around her, as Lillie does possess a certain degree of affection towards others, though she claims her motives are purely her own.

Socially, Lillie is obviously very awkward. She dislikes the company of other people, and would much rather prefer to be alone with a good book or a painful spell. However, she is not entirely without a heart, as she seems to be able to bond with other intelligent individuals fairly easily, and may or may not openly mock those she deems below her. Lillie's teasing often reflect her association with dark magic. She enjoys tormenting animals, and to inflict psychological torment on other people, though she laughs it off as a practical joke. She does try to get along with people, but after so many years of people belittling her due to her mothers reputation, she gradually stopped caring for other people, and she acts out of self-interest.

If you do end up being unfortunate enough to find yourself on the recieving end of Lillies affection, you'll notice that she can be a very different person. She would go out of her way to make the people she cares about feel good, often with disregard to what would be socially accepted and considered normal. Just be careful not to abuse her trust, as Lillie never forgets, and never forgives.

History: Lillie was born into a family of magic-users, and though she herself had quite the pleasant upbringing, her mother was quite the feared figure in the forest they lived in. Being the notorious "Candy Witch", her mother met predjudice from more or less every angle, and many witch hunters tried to take her out, without success. GRanted, she did have the habit of upholding the ancient tradition of eating children, so that may or may not have had a tiny thing to do with why she was so unpopular and feared. Not wanting her daughter to grow up in such a hostile environment, Olga Strauss packed up her famous gingerbread house and left to live in a place more.. suitable for children.

As Lillie came form the Strauss-Clan of famous witches and warlocks, it didn't take long before she started to show signs of being able to use many of the same spells her parents dabbled in. Most notably her ability to transmutate things into candy, often using it as a means of escaping having to eat her vegetables. Lillie's father, a renowned warlock with ties to the netherworld, wanted her to pick up the magical trade from a very early age due to her aptitude on the subject, but her mother was skeptic; strange reaction from a woman that used to cook and eat children.

Giving in to her husband, Olga let him teach Lillie some of the basic spells, and promised to teach her her family's secret "Candy magic technique". Silly as it sounded, it was very practical and kind of a special kind of magic not seen many other places. Lillie was also an intelligent child, and managed to get above average grades while at the same time managing to keep her magical heritage a relatively hidden secret, as the people where they moved weren't as used to magic as where she originated from. The other children were always jealous of the ditzy blonde and her seemingly endless supply of candy.

The erratic blonde did struggle with maintaining friendships, however, which was something her parents were... actually expecting, as Witches had a certain nautural "human-repellant" aura surroinding them, hinting to their ominous hobbies. Even though Lillie didn't really mind the lack of company in her life, she was still sent to the Ever After Camp, as a means of trying to get her to socialize more with people her own age. Warning her to keep her lineage secret as people wouldn't be nice to her if they knew of her parents past shenanigans, her mother sent her away.

Magic Touch: Being the daughter of a very powerful witch, Lillie has inherited her mothers aptitude towards magic, more specifically the Dark kind. While she often implements candy and other sweets into her magical shenanigans, Lillie primarily specialize in curses, hexes and spells designed to plague, torment and generally just bother other people.
- Candy transmutation: One of Lillies main spells is one she use to transform any kind of matter into an edible piece of candy or sweet dessert. As she can specify what kinds of candies or sweets the matter transform into, she can also create deadly poisoned dishes for unexpected victims.
- Basic Spellcasting: She knows a wide array of spells, though she is not as powerful as her mother.

Other/Tl;Dr:
- Despite her lineage being German, she speaks in a soft British accent.
- She is super stealthy.
- She is a very very talented cook, even though she sometimes use somewhat.. questionable ingredients.

Monster Guy

Fairy type Trainer
@VampirateMace: Accepted

I’m definitely pairing Adian with Vern’s character. The Tale of the Genie and the Mermaid sounds like a Fairy Tale to me. :p

@Gamzee Makara Pending

The concept of a sock person sounds cute. This isn’t a problem, I’m just saying.

My issue is with the history. It is entirely about how she was born, and nothing about her life afterwards. From what I’m understanding she was made a teenager and hasn’t been alive for very long, but I think that should be mentioned somewhere. That would probably have an effect on her personality (I.E. not having real life experience most people her “age” would have, and making her naive.)

There’s also no mention why she’s in a Camp that’s not in Oz.

Name: Hvatur

Alias/Nickname: The Big Bad Wolf, a title inherited from his mother

Parent(s): The Big Bad Wolf (from Little Red Riding Hood)

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Appearance: A monster; rude as it may be, that's the first word that springs to mind to most that bear him witness. Hvatur is best described as a bipedal wolf, complete with sharp claws and a row of fangs specialized in tearing apart flesh. He walks with a hunched back, yet it doesn't really help make him look any shorter. Having outgrown both his brother and mother, the young wolf stands at exactly 7 feet - though he swears he's still growing. Hvatur's pelt is dark grey, messy, and rough to the touch. He does keep his fur clean, but sees no need to keep it neat. Being scruffy is manly, you know. It's the wolf equivalent of having a badass beard. Supposedly.

If being a large, scruffy wolf wasn't enough of a friend-deterrent, Hvatur doesn't exactly look like the nicest of wolves out there. For one, he has piercing red eyes that carry a needlessly intense, hungry look - like he was constantly observing potential prey, ready to jump at their throat the second they turn their back or blink an eye. Then there are the signs of battles past; scars and cuts edged unto his skin, making him look fierce and thuggish. He boasts broad shoulders, and if he does not actively try to prevent it, his muzzle and out-protruding fangs make for a nasty frown.

He can speak the common human tongue fluently - be that he isn't very eloquent in his word choices - but his voice is a low, rough rumble that occasionally slips into an unintended growl. Aka, probably not something most flighty humans would be eager to listen to. He just sounds angry most of the time. Even when he's happy, his voice makes him sound at the very least irritated. And while his tail and ears do a sufficient job at displaying his real intent and emotions, humans rarely look at those. It's the fangs they see, bared with each spoken word. And that's usually enough to make them run.

It should be noted that he does have opposing thumbs, much like a human. He's a bit clumsy with his grip though, mostly because his palms are the size of an average's person's head, and his claws tend to get in the way of any endeavour that requires dexterous precision.

Personality: The Big Bad Wolf is... somewhat bad, though not to the extent many assume - and he certainly was not born that way. Though he was given reason to harbor hatred towards humans when young, he stayed neutral - even curious - towards them for the longest time. It wasn't until he realized how much humans hated him that he started to grow bitter and distant in turn.

Perhaps his most notable flaw is his short temper. Hvatur gets irritated easily when things aren't going his way - irregardless of whether it's his own fault or not. It's essentially his defense mechanism whenever he finds himself at a loss or taken aback for whatever reason; such as when embarrassed, flustered, one-upped - or when faced with undue fear or prejudice. The problem is that though he's very rarely dangerous when he's angry - his ire consists mostly of frowns, angry growls, a couple of profanities and perhaps 'getting in your face' so to say - it's really easy to mistake his anger for aggression. After all, he is a seven foot wolf looming over you with an angry scowl, fangs and all. And it's that misconception that leads to more fear - and more anger. It's a vicious cycle. To combat this, he's tried to quell his temper through various means over the years, but it hasn't been an easy undertaking. The fact that humans seem to not appreciate the effort he's putting in isn't helping at all, either. Oftentimes, especially of late, he wonders if he should just give up and embrace the panic and fear he's causing. Then those bastards would at least have a reason to hate him.

When not given reason for anger, Hvatur is usually quiet. It might be difficult (even impossible) to believe when looking at him, but he is rather reserved and in a way, even shy in new situations. He's messed up one introduction too many to carelessly insert himself into conversations or social gatherings, and tends to avoid large groups. If forced into one, he prefers to observe others from afar so as to gauge whether they're friends or foes and to adjust his own behaviour to theirs. Of course, even this tends to cause misunderstandings; the glow in his gaze gets mistaken for hunger, and his curiosity for a predator's ploy. Understandable, but unfortunate.

Once Hvatur does speak, it's quickly obvious that he isn't... very good at it. He doesn't make mistakes or mess up words, he just has no idea which things are appropriate to say and which aren't. Where he hails from, everyone is blunt. Compliments and critique get thrown around with equal lack of tact, and there is no topic too taboo to discuss. He's figured out that such isn't the case in human societies, but hasn't quite gotten the hang of polite speech or white lies. What he says, he really means - or if he doesn't, you will notice. He sucks at lying. If you want to get him out of his shell, though, there's two surefire ways to gain his interest; offer him food - or a competition. He's incredibly competitive, not able to stand anyone challenging his self-appointed 'alpha wolf' status. He's also constantly hungry, particularly for meat. Throw him a (literal or figurative) bone, and he'll be more amiable for at least as long as the food lasts. Then he'll skulk away to the shadows again.

Finally, the arguably biggest source of headaches and misunderstandings is the fact that... at the end of the day, Hvatur is an animal. An animal who's intellectually on par with humans, yes, but an animal nonetheless - and that means that his behaviour is greatly influenced by instinct. The instinct to chase after someone who runs away from you, the instinct to bite when threatened and, above all, the instinct to survive. This can make him come across as eccentric at best, selfish at worst. If there's danger, his first priority is his own survival, regardless of any kinships he may have with others. The only exception would be his pack - if he had one. He's been a literal lone wolf as long as he can remember, and it's only lately that he's found himself yearning for the companionship of a pack. Slightly related, he still follows many of the rules he learnt in the forest; such as the survival of the fittest. Don't be surprised if his world view seems harsh, or even cruel. It's the only way he's known so far.

History:
You've all heard the story of the Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf that antagonized her. Large and vicious, the beast bore no name, as monsters seldom do. He was known simply as the Big Bad Wolf, his evil nature etched onto the very title attributed to him.

But what if that was only half the story?

The wolf had a name, in truth. She was Héla, a mother of two. She brought her pups to the world at a difficult time, her health deteriorating by the day. Large game had long since been out of her reach, and all she'd managed to hunt down were rabbits, squirrels and the occasional bird that dared fly too low. Hardly enough to keep a wolf full - let alone three.

Hvatur and his brother Agnar spent the first few years of their lives as one does, playing, running and learning the meaning of hunger, when the grumbling of their stomachs outlived the food Héla brought home every evening. And as the two pups grew, so did their appetite - and their mother's desperation to keep them full.

Determined to find food for her young, Héla eventually found herself wandering further and further away from the forest's heart, even daring teeter on its edges. It was during one such time that she happened upon a completely new animal in the woods.

A human.

A human pup, if one were to be precise. She was decently sized when compared to the offspring of many other woodland critters, and seemed to lack any means to defend herself. But though Héla first approached her to hunt her on the spot, a short conversation changed her plans. She learned of even more prey; an elderly lady living alone in the forest, equally defenseless to escape her. Many know what happened next; the wolf slid into the house, pretended to be the Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother and, eventually, ate them both.

Or so the story went. She did, in fact, not eat the two herself. Instead, she brought them back to her den, to feed to her two puppies. It was a feast unlike they'd had in a while, and they all slept much more soundly that evening. It seemed as though they'd found a solution to their hunger. And so, soon enough, Héla stalked the edge of the forest once more, this time after a human male. He was tall and stout, and would sustain them for longer than the two humans prior.

She did not return from her hunt that day. Come morrow, she was still nowhere to be seen.

Then the news came, sung by birds on high perches, too high for claw and tooth; Héla was dead. The hunt for a human with a stick that breathed fire had been her last. Hvatur was devastated. Angry, too. But he didn't hate the human that had done it. You did not blame the prey that got away. Injury or death was the risk one took when they chased after moose with sharp horns, or tried to fell a boar within a tusk's reach. It was the law of the forest, cruel but absolute.

Hatred would not bring his mother back or fill the stomachs of him and his brother. The best way to honor his mother's memory was not to get revenge and die a fox's death - it was to survive. So, for years, the two young wolves tried to do just that. The first few years were brutal, but together they persevered. And the more they grew, the stronger they became, able to chase after prey to faraway lands with relative ease.

Many a year later, the two brothers parted ways. Agnar had found a mate and a pack; Hvatur did not want to be tied down to a single land. He continued on as a lone nomad for a few years more, traveling to distant lands. Eventually, more and more interesting tales reached his ears. Tales of different species cooperating and living in harmony, the concept of 'buying' food with 'money' you earned from 'work'... originally human concepts, they'd started to spread among other species of late. And that wasn't all; here, far away from home, many a creature revered something called 'technology'.

Hvatur was intrigued, and eventually curiosity won him over. This was a new land and a new age, far from the olden ways of his homeland, where those of the forest did not interact with outsiders. Besides, the upcoming winter seemed harsh, more so than any he'd had to face alone before. Maybe it'd be better spent in one of these supposedly warm 'houses' he'd heard talk about. It seemed like an altogether good choice. So, he found himself leaving behind the forest and entering the world of humans, as many other species had done before him, his hopes high. After all, he bore no ill will towards humans.

He soon found out the sentiment wasn't mutual.

"Run! Run from the Big Bad Wolf!" they'd say before he could so much as open his mouth. Most fled from his path - those who didn't flee brandished weapons in hopes that he would. Every attempt at communication was met with fear and hatred that he could not understand. Bad? Why was he bad? He'd never met these people. They knew nothing about him.

Once he found the answer, he wished he had not. It wasn't anything he'd done; it was who he was. A wolf, the son of a fearsome beast. Hvatur could take the insults hurled his way - but the ones hurled at a mother who'd only wanted to feed her young he could not. He growled back at the insults. He was angry. The humans took it as a sign of aggression. It angered him even further. There was no end to the cycle.

Eventually Hvatur left the city in search for another - and then another, and another. Every rejection shortened his fuse and made him more bitter than before. He started spending less and less time with people and more in forests, even during colder seasons.

Then, one day, he caught wind of Ever After, a camp that advertised itself as a place for the children of all famous ones to come together and find themselves. Hvatur hesitated for a long while, unsure whether his kind would be welcome there either - but it was the promise of shelter and free food that won him over in the end. Having not found success in human societies, he hesitantly headed towards the camp, hopeful, wary, and very, very hungry.

Magic Touch: Hvatur's powers are neither flashy nor complicated. He's a monster wolf, and most of his abilities stem from that fact. That is to say, he has heightened senses, able to sniff out and track things over a great distance, as well as hear and see things ordinary people could not. He also has superior speed, stamina and strength, able to run for hours on end at the speed of a car - and then lift and throw said car across a yard if need be. Said feats do require proper nutrition, though. There's no running on an empty stomach - and it takes a lot to fill his.

- Likes belly rubs, but will deny it to his grave. He has also declared brushes his sworn enemies after finding out how relaxing it feels to run one over his fur. But you know, if you find your brush missing, between you and I, you know whose possessions to look through.

- Doesn't wear any clothes, but also doesn't require a censor bar. Just don't overthink it.

- Has a secret wish of riding on the back of a unicorn just once and then eating it but knows he isn't pure of heart enough for it.

- I didn't make this (obviously), but gonna leave this pic here for a pretty close visual reference.

- The Little Red Riding Hood version I'm going with here is the very first recorded one, where the story actually ends with Red Riding Hood and her grandmother's death. Just, you know, in this iteration there's a hunter afterwards.

I think I'm done! Decided to go with a different fairy tale in the end.

Name:
Carlotta Lombardi

Alias/Nickname: Lottie, Little Lottie (by her father) The Coachman’s Daughter

Parent(s): Emanuele Lombardi, AKA: “The Coachman”.

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Appearance: Lottie’s appearance is both a blessing and a curse – on one hand she appears quite approachable to strangers. She still has quite the baby face, with twinkling blue eyes and dairy blush on her cheeks, she always appears to have a warm smile on her face that in any other circumstance would melt even the coldest of hearts. Unfortunately on the other hand her facial features bear an uncanny resemblance to her father, making it easy for anybody who happens to know what her father looks like to single her out. It also doesn’t help that she inherited her father’s twinkling, blue eyes as well – something of which he himself used to lure children to the Island of Toys. Her long, thick raven-coloured hair and pointed features are from her mother’s side and she’s a little bit on the short side, being about a foot shorter than someone her age should.

Despite her family’s enormous amount of wealth Lottie keeps her clothes relatively plain (much to her father’s chagrin) as a means of distancing herself from her family’s infamous reputation. She wears a simple white dress for fancy occasions and a pendant featuring a donkey’s head made from mother of pearl – a gift passed down to her from her mother. But most of the time Lottie is usually seen in a brown dress not unlike that of your typical Italian villager, with her hair tied back in a neat little bun that gives her a rather unassuming appearance. The only things that hint at her true status as a wealthy daughter are her black leather shoes – which have been shined to the point where one could see their reflection incredibly clearly – and her golden earrings, which feature a donkey bucking with its hind legs.

Personality: Lottie is a far, far cry from how many people would interpret the daughter of a kidnapper. Soft-spoken and reserved – Lottie is your typical nice girl. She’s polite to almost everybody she meets, she’s open and honest to others and tries to be as tolerant of other people as possible. But underneath this mask is what could only be described as a conflicted mind. In truth Lottie is a bit more than just tolerant – she’s almost a doormat thanks to being on the receiving end of living with her father’s reputation, believing that she kind of deserves a lot of the ire others give her. Deep down she’d really like to stand up for herself and prove to people that she is not and will never grow up to be like her father, but she simply doesn’t have the courage or nerve needed to do so.

She’s a little bit touchy when it comes to talking about her father and his job. She usually won’t say much beyond telling people that her dad travels around the country. Pushing her for any more information beyond that will most likely end with her finishing the conversation and leaving the room.

History: Most people who’ve read fairy tales have often found a way to paint the antagonists in a certain light. While often one dimensional or depicted as downright cruel by their creators, people have been trying to approach these villains with a little more sympathy and kindness. Most of them, after all, can’t help being the way that they are, and are fortunate enough to receive compassion from those who reach out to them.

Lottie’s father is not one of those people.

There is a limit to sympathy and compassion – and both of these things run out whenever Emanuele Lombardi is involved. Mr Lombardi is not what one would expect from a fairy tale villain – at face value he was as harmless as a butterfly – a caring gentleman with a gentle voice and features to match. No, it was his alter ego that won him so much fear from others. You see, Mr Lombardi hated children – but not just any type of child, mind you – the children that he hated were the kind that suffered from something he called “unwarranted self-importance”. He hated the way they mouthed off to people, he hated the way they bullied the other children just for their own entertainment – and most of all he hated how they grew up to be slack-jawed fools who – in all honesty – made complete asses out of themselves.

They say money can’t buy happiness – but in the right circumstance it can buy someone magic, and that is what Mr Lombardi did. He sought out an island that had been once owned by a powerful sorceress and bought it after learning of the terrible curse this witch had placed upon her land which only affected those who made fools out of themselves. Then he spent the next year turning that once infamous land into what could only be described as a bright and colourful amusement park filled with treats and toys. It wasn’t long after this that he started setting out during the late hours of the night, picking up children who he singled out as brats and brought them to the island – or as he put it: “The Land of Toys” – where there were no rules, no work and all play. He was thrilled when he discovered that the curse in question eventually took place, transforming once rude children into donkeys, and saw it a fitting punishment that they should have to work as such for the rest of their lives, having taken what they had as humans for granted.

To say that Mr Lombardi became well-known was an understatement. Authorities never found out where the missing children went, nor did they suspect that he had any involvement thanks to his charisma. So of course it wasn’t long before people started to create a myth – an urban legend of sorts – to frighten their kids into behaving. If one were to disobey their parents, then the Coachman would whisk them away to a place where they could not be found. And thanks to this moniker (and much to Mr Lombardi’s delight), children began to behave more often, and he had to take his outings less and less as time wore on. He eventually settled down and soon after that, eventually finding a wife and soon found that he had a child of his own to take care of.

For the first few years of Lottie’s life everything was fine. She was raised to be as polite and courteous as her parents and loved to play with the donkeys her father owned. Her fathers would tell her stories all about his travels (her favourite being the one time he encountered a living puppet), but kept the nature of his job a secret to her. It was only when she started developing her magic did she begin to realise that something was wrong. The donkeys she had so much fun being with looked… sad. It was as if they – despite having everything they could ever need as donkeys – were absolutely miserable. In addition to this other children were starting to avoid her for reasons she did not understand. Children were much more creative with rumours than adults and had, through reports from other kids who had declined the Coachman’s offer, come to the conclusion that Lottie’s dad was the man in question.

It would take Lottie finally voicing her concerns to a younger kid to find that everyone was avoiding her because they feared that if her dad was indeed the Coachman, then she would lure them to his house and turn them into donkeys. It didn’t take her long to put two and two together after that. Spurred by what she now knew she took her father by surprise and demanded that he tell her the truth – to which he responded by admitting what he had done knowing that he couldn’t hide it from her forever. Lottie was furious that her father – the man she cared about and trusted – could do such a terrible thing to other children and when he tried to explain his motives to her she simply turned her head and rejected it, completely overtaken by anger. Their relationship was never the same after that – and Lottie would not forgive her father for six more years.

Going to Ever After Camp was her mother’s suggestion, made in the hopes that Lottie would get some time to mull over her feelings towards her father in a more positive environment, and perhaps make some friends without her father’s reputation hanging over her head. Lottie was hesitant at first but decided to go in the end, hoping that the kids from other famous fairy tale characters won’t judge her for something she hasn’t done.

Magic Touch:

Horse Power – Lottie is exceptionally good at understanding horses and similar creatures, most likely a power developed due to being around enchanted donkeys for most of her childhood. She’s slowly learning how to “persuade” horses/donkeys/etc. to do what she wants when she needs to, but equines are fickle things (even more so than their human-turned-donkey counterparts).
