Ok I am currently playing Firered , and im going to buy Emerald soon.

In Sappire i picked Torchic as my starter, so the question is......

Mudkip or Treeko?

I hated Mudkip at first, but now ive warmed up to it and I like thats it turns to ground type.

Treeko i loved until the anime made me hate it. I still love its moves and it looks cool.

Im am not going to pick Torchic again, so what are your opinions on which i should pick?

personally i would go 4 mudkip cause in the first gym water advange is gonna help, plus its ground type ablity is gonna help against electric attacks

Back I guess??
if you´d like an easy game, then go with mudkip.
if no, then try treecko.
one hard game is if you get torchic but you already have one.

I´d pick treecko, easy games don´t fit me (I took torchic)

ima gonna smile now!
i'd go with mudkip as well, it is a HUGE help, especially against Wattson. Mudkip is the logical choice under the circumstances.

i go with treeko. grovile is so cool and it is strong for link battle too i have an sceptile and it is my best pokemon.

Ruby: torchic, now a L100 blaziken in emerald
Sapphire: mudkip, now a L100 swampert still in sapphire
Emerald: treecko, now a L100 sceptile in ruby

I may someday swap blaziken for sceptile that'd be the day.

I really prefer torchic of all 3 to start with, but that doesn't seem as important to me anymore. For FR/LG, definitely charmander since I already got a bulbasaur & squirtle and I prefer to chase after suicune of all 3.

Well, I have all three starters in one game right now and I kinda planned it like that so it didn't matter to me. I find that Treecko is actually the hard starter. Mudkip is way easy since there's only two gyms that it can't score super effective hits on (Norman and Juan/Wallace, Winona doesn't count because most Swamperts have Ice beam). It depends on you, if you don't like it, restart. TTFN!

Not Torchic, Mudkip than. He's not that hard to train and through the game you find many pokemons with ground as their weakness. If you want a hard game, choose Treecko, but when it evolves into Sceptile, you will have a pretty easy game.

I like all starters but i think that Treecko is the best option.

Mudkip if you want to beat the game faster! ^_^

Torchic23

gee that's swell
Mudkip is so much better. When I played my first game on Ruby I picked Treecko and it sucks!! It hardly knew any good moves so I had to start a new game with Mudkip [I used Torchic in all the other games]

Mudkip/Swampert is a good choice, but (IMO ONLY) its not fun to use and is a little too cheap for my tastes. It just makes the game soooo boring and slow (IMO again).

Treeko is not a bad Pokemon as some people seems to think here. At lower lvs, it is bad, mostly due to the fact that it doesnt learn many moves. But if you use them right, Septicle will rock the end game, no matter what version ou play.

I would have recommened Torchic, but you said that you already had one. :) I love the fire types because they seem to be the most well-rounded Pokemon in all the games.

I'd choose Treecko. After it evolves,it gets Leaf blade. And it can crush the champion in Emerald.

Go with mudkip.
When you have Swampert with ultimate attacks. You are never defeated

I was going to go with Mudkip (I had Chikorita on Crystal and Typhlosion *sniff* on Silver) but I went with Treecko because I thought it looked cool. Good choice on me. Also, his typing spurred me to pick up that Marill from the PC and train her.

It's a matter of personal preference, but here are reasons to go for Treecko:

1. Grovyle kicks butt, even if Sceptile looks kinda weird.
2. Thunderpunch gives you something against Winona.
3. It's got one of two good Grass-type damagin moves in the game. The other is Cacturne with Needle Arm, and they're rarer in Emerald.
4. Rips through Wallace the nancy-boy.
5. Fastest of all starters.
6. Learns nice egg moves like Crunch and Leech Seed.
7. It's more fun to use.
