Can Mew learn all the moves by this way?

I don't know whether this can work or not(I don't have a Mew on my game).
We all know that smeargle can learn any moves(except Struggle, Transform, Metronome, Mimic, Sleep Talk, and Mirror Move) but since it's stats aren't so good to make full use of it's movepool. Mew however have great stats but limited movepool despite being claimed to be able to learn any move. I just have an idea that can let mew learn every move smeargle can.
1. Catch Mew and link it in a battle with another people.
2. The first pokemon that Mew fights must be a Smeargle that has four Sketch.
3. Get ready for Mew to use transform and get all four Sketch.
4. Switch out Smeargle and take out any pokemon with the move that you want your Mew to have, have them attack Mew with it and Mew can learn the move.
5. Do this again the second time with Mimic until you are satisfied with your Mew's moveset.
Note:I don't know whether Sketch can be Mimiced or transformed and I don't know if it can, whether the move Mew sketched will replace transform or mimic permanently.
So to those of you who have Mew and able to do that. Can you try it and let me know if it works. Thanks.

sketch doesn't keep the moves after the battle, unless you're smeargle. it only replaces sketch in your moveset, and if it's not originally in your moveset, it can't be replaced.

also, smeargle can only have one sketch at a time.

In link battles everything goes back to normal after the battle, so this won't work.

Also, I believe Mimic-ing Sketch, or Metronoming it or whatever, doesn't let you keep the move you Sketched after ANY battle, it just goes back to the normal move.

i think i tried sketching metronome, at least, once. and it worked. i was actually trying to see if it could sketch the move that metronome uses, instead of metronome itself, but it didn't work. argh.

i assume that the reason why you assumed it couldn't copy sleep talk/mirror move is the same as why you thought it wouldn't copy metronome, right? so it probably would work.

read the thread. i already said it doesn't work. if it did, people would have ditto with moves other than transform, because all that's required is that the relevant pokemon be able to transform.

Yes,transform effects wear off after battles.And Smeargle can only have 1 sketch at a time.But Mew doen't need to.It can learn any TM move or Move tutor move.You can give it Calm mind and bolt beam.Or it can be a mixed sweeper.Mew is already uber.

I know why, if you cheated it will work but won't obey ya.

But if you got it in with that old chart but WAIT that's cheating, you cheated!!!

The sea chart was not even out, including JP.
*sighs* I think this should be moved from R/B/Y if you got a mew.

it doesn't work with ditto, ergo it doesn't work with mew.

and there's no smeargle in R/B/Y, so it doesn't work there either.

i think it works on G/S/C (using the mimic TM from R/B/Y), with things mimicing sketch, then sketching the move they want.
