Can the Wii use normal SD cards?

@Peteyism
I am getting the Wii on Friday along with the game Red Steel. Can i buy a normal 256 mb or 512 mb SD card or do i have to buy the "Wii" brand SD card?
And how much Mb does Red Steel and Wii Sports take up? And would a 128 mb flash Drive work for the memory? and i would want to use the normal SD card to save the game onto too. or does the Wii have built memory?

And for Wii Sports, it uses 2 blocks.

THERE'S NO $50 HERE!
Man, why does Nintendo have to use the "Blocks" system again?

Still, the max SD card capacity you can use is a 2GB one.

Best Buy is currently having a sale on SD cards. Normal retail price is around $80. You can get a certain brand with 2GB for $40 this week. Highly suggest grabbing that.

Wii's built in memory is limited. About 512mb, if I'm not mistaken. The remote also has a small amount of memory to remember stuff like your Miis. There's no memory card for the Wii, though it's in the form of an SD card. Any simple SD card will work, though prepare to pay a good amount for ones that are like 2gb

This is question that I have to, and it hasn't been answered yet.

1) How many mb is a block? I need to know this if I'm gonna pick up a 2 G or a 128 mb SD Card for my Wii.
2) How many blocks/mb does Zelda: TP take up?
