Can't keep a save file in Crystal

Sahaqiel

In my Crystal version for the Game Boy Color, whenever I save, then turn off the game, it resets. When I turn it on, the save file is gone, and I have to start over. I havent been dropping it or anything, it just...Happened.

Things happen like that to old games. If it's not fake, the data's screwed in it. Has been exposed to the environment?

Your game's internal battery is dead, Nintendo wont fix it. But you can. Just uhh Google it or something lol =P

It is probably a fake game, unless you used a Game Shark or something on it?

It's not a fake game, its not the result of a GS, the battery is dead.

You can keep saying I'm wrong but I'm 100% right about the battery.

You see in the GSC theres a battery inside used to keep the clock running and the save file, when it dies the game can't hold save data.

I'm pretty sure the battery only applies to timed events rather than save files. But I could be wrong and probably am.

back.
GSC's internal battery was very overused and thus, dies after a certain period of time. It was used to store most of the data in the game. In RSE, they fixed this by only storing timed events in the internal battery. Thus, the games would last longer.

You can fix it, though.

Actually, it's old... Kinda like, since it came out old.
The Internal battery sounds likely. Though I really wish that they thought about its eventual death though.
