Cap and trade

Walrus

I EAT BABIES!!!
Cap and trade is very difficult to wrap your mind around. Its a complex system that seems as if it can't do any good, and, at times, its quite convoluted. Is there hope for cap and trade? This isn't a debate, just opinions. (I do, however, have to write a speech on it for debate class... @_@)

Personally, I don't think its any good. Like putting a band-aid on a severed limb.

So far the sulfur dioxide trading scheme has worked wonders; it could be applied to carbon in a similar manner. But of course it's not an instant quick fix to global warming, there will have to be other things to work alongside it. Making carbon less profitable is all part of it.
