Capsule in Time: A Pokemon RP

lokitheodd

capsuletime.jpg

It all ended on one summer day, one that started out just like any other. For the Pokemon PC system, it received several new entries, from bred pokemon being placed in a box for the first time, to new trainers capturing their seventh pokemon.

Then, in the afternoon, there were several new absol entries, as the wild pokemon were caught when they flooded into the cities.

They flooded into the cities in herds of black, white and the occasional dot of red. They were crying out messages the humans couldn’t understand, hoping their mere presence would be warning enough.

It wasn’t.

It wasn’t even enough of a warning for the pokemon who could heed their pleas to flee.
Because on that summer day, something terrible happened.

Days, months, years went by for the pokemon in Bill and Bebe’s PC system. They were empty times, full of sleep and slow memories. They were kept alive, kept flawlessly held in time, unaging, untouched.

Then, a special programming line activated the machines en masse. Bill, in the event of a trainer’s death wanted a failsafe that would release their pokemon, instead of being stuck in his PC forever. Legal issues prevented him from programming this to occur within ten years, thirty years, or even fifty years.

One hundred years from being accessed, from having any contact at all, and the pokemon were being released.

Tired machines, covered in dust and sand, or plant life, or even underwater groaned and glowed with life for the first time in a century.

The pokemon in PCs were released.

They found themselves in an unfamiliar world.
Alone.

And in danger.

The playful, joyous world they knew of safe battles and adventures with young people was gone.

Now humans lead flocks of pokemon, breeding them as violent tools to fight one another, desperately, for what little resources they have. Giant feral pokemon prey on humans and smaller pokemon alike.

Nature itself is now a foe, with storms of sand, lightning and ice sweeping across the world.

On that summer day, the world ended.

But one hundred years later, for the pokemon kept safe, it has begun again.

You may join either as a human or as a pokemon, though in this case pokemon are preferred.
I will often be playing as NPCs in order to trigger events, such as storms, raids or hunts, which the other players will have to deal with.''

Something was moving. Something was moving after what felt like an eternity. Now she knew why some trainer's pokemon complained of being in the PC System. It was so bafflingly slow.

But something was moving--she was moving. Her data was shifting and being released. The odd wallpaper was fading away, and she was moving, moving towards a light.

Fresh air entered her lungs for the first time after her capture. She gasped, and stumbled, her forelegs bending as she caught her balance. Her sight, adjusted--wait, wait, this was a pokemon center, was it not? As her blurry vision sharpened... something was very wrong.

She was in a Pokemon Center, yes, she could tell that, faintly. But it looked more like a ruin than a clean building.

The front desk was overgrown with vines and weeds, fed sun by the rays slipping in through the caved in roof. The machines were coated in dust and gravel, their parts that once glowed with power were dark. All that was functioning was the PC behind her, the dusty screen glowing briefly before powering off.

Zel stared, in silence, looking this way and that.

It was silent. Everything was silent. Where were the nurses, the Chansey, the patients...?

The absol tentatively hopped up and out of the building's broken window, and found the streets to be in no better condition.

OOC: Just, real quick, where are we?

The Typhlosion stirred. The sun was now rising over the barren hills to the east, long rays of fiery heat licking the powerful pokemon's face. He lifted himself to his feet, and stretched with a disgruntled growl. Last night an Ariedos had thought it funny to try and nip him on the heel. Ravager had dealt with the pest, but not before the damned thing had fired a volley of pin missiles into Ravager's side. The slowly healing injuries were painful as his muscles started to tense. It hadn't been a total loss though. The Ariados's blasted corpse lay a few feet away, still smoldering with deadly heat.

Ravager looked around. He had been here too long. Bones and charred twigs were beginning to pile on top of one another, creating something that almost resembled a nest. That wouldn't do. Using the energy from the sun, Ravager flared his mane up to its maximum and rubbed his fur together. The superheated friction caused a massive blast which shook the blackened and charred forest clearing. Content with the destruction, Ravager flared down and began to pad through the underbrush, slashing and burning any plants in his path.

Reaching a stony bluff that overlooked a nearby town, Ravager sniffed the air for potential prey. The smell of dust and chemical decay was almost overwhelming, but something caught his attention, something exotic. It was something he had never smelled before, but it smelled delicious. Lowering his head, he reared his haunches towards the pokemon center, and began to descend the cliff face, sparks and fire bursting from his claws and feet. This way...

OOC: Assumably right as the PCs are begin released.

Shadow blearily poked his head out of the hollow in the tree-looking around at the morning sun, feeling thewarming rays just beginning to heat the cold night world. He stretched his legs-nibbling on a morsel before climbing out and walking precariously on a nearby branch. He was a fairly big pokemon in general-but he wasn't heaviest. He looked around at the sights ofa beautiful morning. He took note of the sun over the horizon, the pokemon's heads checking if it was safe, the fiery abyssal destruction that rose up into the sky-wait what?

Shadow shook his head as he left his groggy relaxed state-his special eyes trained on the waning fiery mass-not too far away. He wondered what had caused such destruction-as if the world hasn't sustained enough damage. He flapped his wings a bit before lifting off into the air and hovering for a little. Afterwards he jet around at mildly high speeds-his eyes trained on the ground below him for any evidence of a free morsel of food. He figured he could investigate after he got breakfast. He ducked down as the trees got denser-some were dead but this was a relatively remote forest and trees were sturdy.

He found something. He flew almost all the way down to the ground-legs ready to capture. He grabbed the entire berry bush off of the ground-a rare find indeed. He nibbled on one of the berries before returning-at ridiculous speeds to spread the looser and less tasty berries over the ground-to his hollow. After slicing a hole in the ground and putting the bush down he enjoyed the berries-the first he'd had in a long while. He stuffed the rest of the berries from the bush into his hollow and went in the direction of the fire-noticing a rather savage looking pokemon...

OOC: Okay, I have the map for the city made, it's up in the original post.

The absol stepped quietly out into the empty streets. The concrete was cracked and overgrown. Rusting vehicles lay decomposing. In the distance, she could see a few Rattatta scamper from one building into the next.

It was a place she had never been in, ruins she had never explored. And yet, in the buildings, the frayed and faded billboards, she saw that... this was the city. This was the city she had been in, she had been trying to warn.

In the distance, she could see smoke rising up into the sky. Whatever disaster she had felt, it had happened. Oh, it had happened.

She sat back on her legs, cringing.

"Is... Does anyone need help? Is anyone hurt out there?" she called out, hearing her own voice echo back at her.

Ravager landed on the hard concrete with a loud thud. Sniffing the air again, he picked up a new scent. Rattatta. They were in the bushes off to the left, wiry, dry overgrowth that clung to a building like long hair. Spitting a small line of flame at the bush was enough to set the arid vegetation alight. The purple rats burst from the cover chattering and squealing in panic. Ravager grinned to himself and bent down on all fours, sprinting after the small pokemon with long, loping strides. Ravager was far faster than the small pokemon, but they were more dextrous, leaping over debris and rubble that took Ravager a much longer time to navigate.

The obnoxious, delicious little vermin darted into a nearby structure, crumbling and becoming dust. Ravager burst through a still intact window, sending sharp glass shards everywhere. The rattatta scurried under a hole in a sturdy looking door, which Ravager slammed into hard. The door rattled in its frame but did not budge. Taking a step back, Ravager took a sprinting start into a Flame Wheel, and shattered the door like cardboard. He saw the tail of one of his quarry sprint out into the street, and Ravager took pursuit immediately. The fury of blood and hunger was in him now, and he would be damned before he let one of these little pests get away from him. As he reached the door, he saw three of the rats dive into the building opposite...but there had been four. His acute nose picked up on a new scent. Blood...

The destruction of the door had injured one of the tiny creatures, and Ravager could see the glistening trail. He padded out into the street, sniffing the air heavily. The wind had shifted in this narrow street, but he could still pick up on his prey. Sniffing into another bush, Ravager howled in fury as the frightened rattatta bit his snout. With rage, he reached into the bush with his claws and pulled the rattatta out, squealing and struggling. As he was about to snap its tiny neck, the wind shifted and he caught that scent from earlier.

It was a foreign scent, laden with power and grace, something he had never smelled before. Intruigued, he turned in the direction of the scent. Whatever it was, it was obscured behind the rubble of brightly colored building. Still holding the panting rattatta in his grasp, he wandered towards the source...

Occ:Im soo sorry i'm late, my parents are making me look for a job ^^;;

It had certainly been along time since James had been in any city, let alone Hearthome city. As he looked around, memories from a happier time came to him. One memory in particular; the memory of when he was a small child, when his father took him to the city to meet an actual gym leader. At the time he could barely talk due to his shyness to other people; but when he met Fantina he wanted to become more social and meet people and their pokemon. As a treat, his father had challenged Fantina to a battle and ended it in a tie. His father was content in the win and told his son how it wasn't so bad to end in a tie. He was so engrossed in this memory that he almost forgot he was in the company of his loyal pokemon and friends Rowan and Lilah. He smiled and said, “lets get going shall we? Time to patrol.” With that he picked up his spear and dawned his headband-back to the grind he thought to himself, as he pointed ahead with his spear arm to indicate which way he and his two pokemon partners were headed.

Rowan looked at his partner and nodded- hope we run into something today;it's been dull recently he thought to himself, as he watched James pick up his spear and lead the way for himself and Lilah to follow.

Lilah smiled and rolled her eyes- better get focused James or you'll be caught off guard she thought, as she walked along side James. Lately she noticed that James seemed to be getting a bit more side tracked since they came to this city. This made her worry about her partner; she was always aware of her surroundings to make sure that the group wouldn't get caught off guard and unawares.

James himself was focusing more on maintaining the borders of the villager's territory; ever since the disaster, the “raiders” intended harm upon the villager's for some unseen purpose (or at least unseen to himself). As he rounded th corner that turned onto an old street of Hearthome he thought he heard a pokemon of some kind call out; “Hello? Who's there?”

Occ: this might be a stupid question but can pokemon actually talk human speach?

Daniel Clowes

A blue, cloud-dotted sky hung in the air above the area that once was Hearthrome City. A few cheerful Pokémon glided through the tranquil, undisturbed sky, letting the gentle breeze carry them. It wasn’t often that such a scene could be watched; after all, with feral Pokémon and vicious raiders riding about, one needed to stay on guard. Even so, there were a few people who took the time to appreciate a break from work.

Daniel… was not one of those people.

“Focus, Hesoca!” Daniel commanded as they tore through the calm scene, “Spread your wings out! We’re tryin’ to prevent me from fallin’, not gettin’ me flung in the air!”

He stood on the Aerodactyl, smiling with a confidence that comes from experience. Even so, a wrong move by the creature could send him tumbling into the ground below. Not that he was fearful about such things.

The Pokémon growled and opened its wings farther, causing it to catch the air and lift upward.

“Sandstorm.”

With a ferocious roar, the Pokémon threw a vicious flap in the direction of a few trees, collecting a heap of forest dirt and sending it as a gale, crashing into the forest below. Plants shook and Pokémon scurried away. A weak tree uprooted and fell. Daniel grabbed onto the Pokémon’s rocky hide for balance.

“Not bad,” Daniel chuckled, “not bad at all. Why don’t we turn back to Hearthrome before Ecabe gets lonely? Agility. ”

Hesoca sneered and flew forward at an incredible speed, slashing through the air and kicking up dust from any nearby grounds. It was used to following Daniel’s blunt orders. After all, in battle, you didn’t have time to explain yourself.

“Nice weather, ain’t it?” Daniel began, taking in the view of the surrounding area. The ruins of Hearthrome were somewhere far ahead; where, Daniel couldn’t see. “Pretty good time for a raid, if I say so myself. Ecabe should be back from his intelligence-gatherin’ duties by now.”

Hesoca smirked pridefully. If she had been the one who was checking out the village, she would’ve been done hours ago.

“Yeah, yeah, I get it,” Daniel answered her thoughts, “So Ecabe ain’t that fast. He ain’t that bright, either. But he’s got bulk; you know, he can take a hit. No need to run away if you ain’t unable to fight, right?”

Hesoca neared a stretch of land and whisked by the ground, leaving a dirt cloud in her trail. A blue-and-yellow figure flirted through Daniel’s vision.

“A Typhlosion, huh?” he thought aloud, “Haven’t seen one of those lately. Prob’ly wild.”

Hesoca rose into the sky, settling at a high altitude, and flew on with disinterest. If it wasn’t something she could eat, then she really didn’t care. With the speed of Agility, she dashed toward the Hearthrome Village.

OOC: Nah, the pokemon can all be understood by other pokemon, but humans cannot understand them. Use italics or special quotations, whatever you prefer to indicate a pokemon's dialogue.

Crag was curled up, contented and breathing deeply in the sweet, dry grass of the empty lot behind the village center. He looked like a large stone in the field, an unmoving rock among the shuffling herd of Tauros and Milktank. The sun was shining down on his back, warming the surface of his rocky skin.

Then, there was a fist whapping against his side, making a low thudding that rang through his ears. He snorted, shaking his heavy head, and looked over his shoulder. Oh right, his old man.

"Sleeping on the job, you lazy coot?" Joeln ragged at him.

Crag mumbled something, sleepily, before rising onto all fours.

"There's fire in the city. Something might be up," the Elder gave his pokemon a sharp look, "And I want you awake if there is!"

The Rhydon purposely yawned, inwardly smirking at the further scolding he received.

---

Zel could hear movement now, in the city. Sounds of others skittering around, movement and squabble. Perhaps the city was not as dead as she was seeing?

Perhaps many were able to escape, because of the warnings. She got up off her butt and trotted down the streets, jumping over rubble and calling out.

"Is--Is anyone out there?" she crooned.

She could smell... she could smell a variety of things, all different from what she smelled on that day. Human, for one, was a lot less present.

OOC: Hmm...Giant Bug, Pterodactyl, and a fiery wild animal thing. Oh and a raider. I wonder how this will go. I flipped a coin on whether to pursue Ravager/Zel or the Aerodactyl.

He doubled back from his investigative flight path. Something wasn't right. He heard yet another loud-this one more of a crash then an explosion though. He looked around and, using his keen eyes to focus, noticed the prehistoric pokemon and its trainer flying around. Not only that but there was a wave of dirt collapsing over the forest. The dirt didnt' touch his tree, whether it was good look for which he didn't take the time to decide. He watched as the Aerodactyl went towards the Human Village.

'...He needs to be more careful. And more positive towards nature.' he buzzed angrily-flying erratically a small area before usign Quick Attack to flash after the prehistoric bird pokemon. He stopped short, still keeping a pace behind the bird. He couldn't think of a better way to use his skills at the moment if he knew "Nasty Plot." His plan was simple, but it would be difficult to dodge it without the utmost skill. He was a pretty diverse pokemon. He'd use psychic to pick up rubble. Double Team to hide it. Night Slash to make him and his clones difficult to see. Lastly, Quick Attack to send him and the rocks crashing into him. He figured his odds were good.

'Time to start.' he thought simply, 'I have to execute it before he reaches that village though, or he'll be dead meat..literally.' He finished somewhat cockily but mostly as his anger began to slowly fade away.

He glowed with a dim purple light as he flew, any sharp pieces of metal, wood, stone, or just anything hard and small was located on the ground-using the use of most of his eye sections. He smiled, or insect equivalently, as he divided into more of him-covering the pieces of projectile weaponry completely with his illusions. He breathed heavily-hopefully the aerodactyl's wings would cver the sound up as he got closer. If he could, he woudl ahve squeezed his eyelids shut for a minute to keep his concentration. He charged-fading black as his speed began to increase-his clones keeping pace with him. He was actually in a rnadom place in his swarm.

'Prepare yourself' he thought angrily-the image of the dirt wave in the forest flashing in his mind.

Ravager crouched low on his hind legs as an Absol of all things wandered out from behind the obstructing debris. What was a doom seer doing in a place like this? With a sickening crunch, Ravager drove the rattatta's head into a nearby wall, crushing its skull. Hastily devouring the limp rat whole, Ravager began to stalk after the Absol. He had heard of them, seen them briefly. They were an elusive and purposeful creature...powerful as well. Such a thing was not beneath Ravager's notice. Blood dripping from his fiery maw, he trailed behind the female at a distance, making sure to stay down wind. The absol cried out.

"Is--Is anyone there?"

Ravager grinned to himself. Foolish. Ravager began to break into a sprint, and was on top of the snowy quarry before she knew what hit her. Speaking through a sparking, bloody muzzle, he brought his face close to hers, red liquid and tongues of flame grazing her face.

Your survival instincts have dimmed, doom seer. I wonder...how is it that a clever and witty absol does so poorly among these square and rocky hills?

Zel had a brief moment of confusion when the horn on her head tingled, as if sensing some great heat. Then, in the next moment, she realized it was not a warning from her horn, but she was actually feeling heat.

Then, in the next moment, she was on her back with an enormous Typhlosion pinning her down.

She yelped in panic, eyes wide, only to yelp louder when both blood and fire dripped across her face. She raised her forepaws up in the air, in surrender.

"Ah! Oh--oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry--Please don't hurt me, I swear, this is some misunderstanding, and if I did do something to offend you, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it!"

Ravager grinned an evil grin. This young, fleshy thing must be new to these parts. Such ignorance would get her killed her killed eventually. Ravager thought it would probably be merciful to cut her to pieces rather than succumb to the creeping deaths of starvation or dehydration. Ravager raised his left paw and unsheathed his wicked claws.

It's your lucky day doom seer... Ravager growled. An instant before he was about to end the weakling with a Crush Claw, a large sharpened stick imbedded itself in his shoulder. Two more shortly followed. With an enraged roar, Ravager reared upwards and shot a mountain of flame in the direction the attacks came from. Blind with pain, he only really managed to
create a wall of fire blocking the road. Startled cries and clattering came from the direction of the spears. Ravager whipped his head around. Humans. He looked for a moment down at the Absol and snorted indignantly. This whelp was not worth the trouble. Ravager snatched one of the spears out of his shoulder and snapped it between his jaws before rocketing down the street away from the human patrol.

He ran to the outskirts of the city near the lake before stopping to address his wounds. Quickly removing the spear's stubs and cauterizing the wounds, Ravager laid down under a small tree and lapped up some water. The cool, refreshing liquid steamed on his face as he drank. It was the third time those humans had interfered with his life. Something would have to be done about them. His thoughts returned briefly to the young absol. It was strange for a creature of such power and mystique to fall prone to an attack so easy. There was something strange about her, something that spoke of another world. For now though, he would have to spend time recuperating.

Something was changing. The lone Pokemon could feel it, from deep within BOX 14. The matter of the digital system was shifting, along with the very matter of the Pokemon himself. Something was stirring deep inside him... Then, in a rush of light and electricity, he was free.

One hundred years. One hundred years alone. One hundred years without his trainer. One hundred years frozen, subconscious. One hundred seconds since his memory was erased.

Touch. He felt a gentle breeze blowing in through the broken windows, cooling his skin. Under his feet, the mosaic tile that was originally arranged in a clichéd Pokeball pattern was worn smooth by a century of wind and rain. Smell. He could smell decay and rot all around him. The breeze carried a hint of smoke, presumably nearby. He tried to ignore the smell of death hanging in the air, when he smelled another being. A Pokemon. Taste. He could taste the fresh air, spoiled by the death and smoke. Hearing. The silence was unsettling, disturbed only by the crackling of the fire and the slow, shaky breathing of the Pokemon he smelled. Sight. He scanned the unfamiliar room, quickly realizing that it was the remains of a Pokemon Center. He studied himself. His legs and lower torso were right, leaving his chest and arms green. A pinkish red triangle protruded from the center of his chest and back. And he had blades. He loving studied the blades, extending from his elbow backwards, while going up his forearm, extending slightly past the wrist. There was a small chip out of his right blade, which he ignored. He was a Gallade, and he felt alive.

He turned slowly to the broken windows, redirecting his attention to Pokemon he smelled before. He closed his eyes, focusing through the triangle on his chest, searching for thought or emotion. He sensed fear. Fear meant weakness. He wanted answers. And he would get them, no matter what.

The nimble Gallade jumped through the broken window, landing almost silently in the street below. He saw a small white and black creature laying in the street, trembling. Absol. Doom-seer. Fury boiled up within the Gallade. With a roar, he leaped on top of the cursed Pokemon. He pinned the startled Pokemon with his knee, putting one blade at her throat, using the other to hold down the blade on her head, turning her head sideways. "Doom-seer," he hissed. "What happened here? Where are the humans, the Pokemon? Where is EVERYONE!" He roared at the small Disaster Pokemon.

OOC: Sorry, today is not Zel's lucky day. xD

Tyinyk strolled through the ruins of hearthome, following the blazing trail of destruction and smoke. “Well this is entertaining.” He muttered sarcastically. “There’s nothing like chasing something that most likeley isn’t what your looking for.”

“Calm down my friend.” Incinerate said.”You can’t expect every blazing trail of destruction to be Entei. He may not even be in hoeen.”

"You can hardly blame me. The will of fire can hardly be interpreted. I'm suprised I can even half understand you in the first place." Tyinyk said kicking a stone and listening to its' echo. As they turned a corner Incinerate stuck his nose in the air and sniffed. "What do you smell?"

"Doom-seer."Incinerate growled. "And a psychic swordsman."

"Well I didn't understand that but it can't be anything we can't kill. C'mon." Tyinyk said running up the road and taking the turn. He noticed what looked like a white and black rug getting pinned down by a gallade. "Hey!" He yelled. "What's your problem? If you gonna kill something do it when it's fighting back!"

The Gallade pressed his blade into the doom-seer's throat, not hard enough to draw blood, but enough to prove that he was serious. He was about to issue another threat on the small Pokemon's life when he heard a voice. A human voice.

"Hey! What's your problem? If you gonna kill something do it when it's fighting back!"

He lifted his head and turned to the source of the voice. He saw a young man standing next to an admittedly larger-than-usual shiny Typhlosion. The human was wearing a Typholsion pelt, which gave the bladed Pokemon an idea. The Gallade sighed to himself, then stood up. He suddenly picked up the Absol and through it into a nearby wall. "You stay here," he hissed to it before turning to face the human and his Pokemon inside.

In this situation, a Gallade had a particular advantage over most other Pokemon. Similarly to his counterpart Gardevoir, Gallade could connect with humans. While Gardevoir could sense emotions and do limited communication, Gallade could communicate telepathically almost limitlessly with humans. This Gallade took full advantage of that ability.

"Tell me, human, did the Typhlosion you murdered and pelted fight back? And you, fire beast. How do obey a human who killed your own kind for clothing? If you begin to spew about friendship and bonds, I won't hesitate to cut your throat. Fighting for a human weakens you. Rids you of your natural instincts. Tames you. You disgust me," He communicated calmly. For some reason the Gallade wasn't sure of, he requested the pair's names. "What do you call yourselves?"

Truthfully, the Gallade wasn't sure where his rant came from. It just seemed... Natural. Little did he know that, 100 years ago, he would say the exact opposite. He knew nothing of the deep bond he had with his trainer and how much his trainer helped him grow. He knew nothing of how blind he had become since he was left in Box. He knew nothing of how he was a different Pokemon.

OOC: First, the world ends. Now, every other pokemon she meets is threatening to kill her. Zel has not been having a good century.

Zel hit the wall with a thud and a gasp, and lay there on a ground in a trembling heap. Her eyes were almost frozen wide, and she was outmatched by the stranger Gallade. And then... another Typhlosion.

...If she never saw another member from that pokemon family, it would be too soon. Shakily, she rose to her feet, and shook herself off.

She had no intention of running--Well, no that wasn't one hundred per cent true, she really wanted to run. But not only did she think she would be outran (Gallade were swift and brutal warriors), but she... had some questions of her own.

"Um..." Zel coughed, raising her voice, "At the risk of being pinned down again, can anyone tell me what on Earth is going on?"

"You can say we work for a common goal. And in all fairness, yes it was fighting back." Tyinyk said before flipping the gallade off. "And if you're going to be so rude why would I even think of telling you my name?" As he spoke he glanced at the absol.Hmm. An absol. I might be able to use her to find out if a next great burning is approaching. "And how about you? You think it's fun to try to kill apparentley hysterical pokemon? What kind of coward are you?"

"Psychic swordsman you insult me with the notion of being tamed by a human. We are working together as partners to cause the world to burn once again. And when that happens only fire types and those smart enough to don fire proof pelts, like my ally here, will survive." Incinerate said loudly so even the absol could hear. "As for traveling with one who kills my species. When I traveled with my pack we would eat our weakest member when we were low on food." As he spoke his fur started to blaze around the collar and got down on all fours. "Remain where you are doom seer and when we finish with him, we may want to speak with you." With this he dashed forwards wreathing himself in fire and jumped itno a flying roll at the gallade.

((Tyinyk and Incinerate aren't trying to kill zel. They're trying to save her so they can use her for thier own purposes.))

The Absol startled backwards, the back of her legs bumping against the wall of the crumbling building. Okay, okay, don't run, don't run. Still, the sight of the Typhlosion's fire spin was making her re-examine her decision to stay.

"What--What do you mean the world burned? When was that? How did it happen?" she asked, frantically.
That day, before she was caught and placed in that PC, she had remembered feeling... something. Was it a firestorm? Something that had engulfed the whole city in a pitiless blaze? And yet, looking at the town now, the buildings and the streets, there weren't any scorch marks, no piles of ash...
