Thanks to ZoraJolteon from Bulba for this information. I would have waited for you to post up the information yourself dude, but thought I should do it, since someone else would do it anyway.

Basically, details about a new mini-promo set for TCG have been released. Now, what has that got to do with the anime? Well, the last Meiji set contained Marshtomp, Eevee and Donphan long before there was even a hint of their capture/hatching/evolution. So as Zora said over at 'Garden, I too feel this should be taken into consideration.

The set includes:

Pikachu: Ash
Wobbuffet: Jessie
Squirtle: May
Meowth: Team Rocket
Flygon: Shuu
Chimecho: James
Sceptile: ...
Lati@s: As Zora said, this could hint to a possible upcoming anime appearence.
Pidgey: There's been some speculation that this could belong to Harley as some sort of evil payback against May by beating her Munchlax with it. I seriously doubt they'd break Harley's Pokemon Theme by giving him a Pokemon like Pidgey. If anything, I'd say Max gets it.

Like I said, apologies for ripping off this information, but I felt it needed to be posted here.

Good point, it'd be cool if it was true. I'd find it weird with a character getting a Pidgey. Are you sure it's Pidgey and not Pidgeotto or Pidgeot (no, I am not saying I want Ash to get back Pidgeot, nor am I saying he will get Pidgeot back, or even one of the gang getting a Pidgey)

The picture provided clearly shows a Pidgey. o_o

A pidgey? that one dosen't seem to fit their at all... but we will have to wait and see

this realy does make sense.... fire type latias and water type latios?

I didn't even notice the picture o_O

Because of the newest title featuring Grovyle vs Tropius, there's a chance of evolution.

And people have said the opening has shown Chimeco, so it'll return.

...and why do a handful of those cards have types that don't match the pokémon? A STEEL type Chimecho? A DARK type Meowth?
Its too much to take in all at once! *head explodes*

As much as I love the idea of Chimecho making a glorious return to the cast, I'm not going to hold my breath.
Which cards were in the previous promo set, besides the examples you gave already, may I ask? The decision to add Pidgey in there is rather strange, so I'm just wondering if adding a random pokémon is a staple to the promo sets or something~

while id would like to see sceptile and chimecho. grovyle evolving into Sceptile has a bigger chance than chimecho finding its way back to James

No idea. o_o Like I said, I only got the information from ZoraJolteon. I did question it's authenticity at first, for the reasons you listed, but it is on Mc.Donald's Japanese site, which I doubt would post incorrect information.

Doesn't look Steel to me... Chimecho looks to be the same type as Pidgey. So maybe a normal Chimecho and a Dark Meowth? (Dark Meowth *would* make sense.)

Ha, I'd be laughing if Pidgey turns out to be May's next capture.

You know, since Ash had a Pidgeot. The writers love to give May Pokemon that Ash has. As if May doesn't have enough of Ash's Pokemon as it is.

Yeah, its a steel type. They make the grey darker on the outside of the picture and attack box, and add those shiny glistenting lines to where the attacks are placed. Pretty crappy way to differenciate, but meh, what're you gonna do~

I pay way too much attention to detail. Very unhealthy >_>
