Catalyst: Falling Stars
A tale of gods

There was once a time when the gods governed the worlds, creating what was required, destroying what was foul. There were evil gods, and there were good gods. These were the ones maintaining balance in the cosmos. One could not stand without the other.

The balance of the realms was literally inside the World Tree Yggdrasil, known as the Yggdrasil Core. It is said that chaos will ensue should this Core shatter under pressure.

The gods have lived in harmony for a long time. However, Odin, the head of the Asgardians, feared one thing, and one very thing.

Ragnarok - a mythical event in Norse Mythology that marks the end of the gods. The war of wars, the end of ends. It has begun.

Ragnarok was a bloody battle that one would etch in his mind. Loki, free from his chains, rose and rebelled against Odin by forming the Loki Faction. Tyr, seeing that his father had been consumed by Loki's spawn Fenrir, decided to lead the Asgardians in this battle under the Tyr Faction. These two factions fought hard, but their numbers were getting smaller, day after day.

Puzzled at what to do, Tyr decided to head to the lands of his former affiliates, the Olympians, the Kami, the Mesopotamians and many others , to seek help. Loki had a rather similiar idea, summoning and assembling an armada of beasts, demons and evil gods.

However, this only made the battle bloodier, and the war worse. Many have perished, others badly injured. Both sides were losing soldiers at a rather equal rate. However, one horrible thing occured.

The Yggdrasil Core shattered into pieces and was scattered all over Midgard. With this Core shattered, the stability of the realms would be destroyed, ensuing chaos.

After a long battle, and due to the instability of the realms, the many gods who have perished or have been weakened descended to Midgard, in hopes of restoring their former glory and finding a Catalyst as a worthy companion and partner to fight any incoming danger, to protect themselves. Loki and Tyr remained and retreated, in hopes of once again returning to end this battle.

---

Meanwhile, in Midgard...

All over the world, numerous natural disasters have been reported. Earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions. These odd events just began so suddenly, but they definitely are not stopping anytime soon. No one knows what could've caused this, or how. Shooting stars have also greatly increased in numbers, and some believe may be a sign of the end.

Which, by the way, is the case.

---

Tyr Faction God encounter

One day, a mysterious person(or creature) seemingly falls from the sky and introduces himself/herself as a god, and states that he/she desires for you to be his/her Catalyst.

---

Loki Faction God encounter

Your inner fears and darkness are suddenly known to you. You look around, and nobody is near. You feel a mysterious force possessing you, an evil force. With your weak will, you find yourself unable to control this inner darkness. This inner darkness gradually begins to taint you...

Rules

Follow the rules of the RP forum please. Especially the basics, no bunnying, godmodding, etc.

No one gets to play Loki or Tyr. They are GMPCs.

Try to make your god at least a little close to how he or she is depicted in myths and legends. I don't want an emo Zeus, or a kind-hearted Hades.

For enhanced flexibility, you are allowed to use any being or hero from any myth, and real people like Emperor Nero or Oda Nobunaga are allowed. I will allow the usage of minor dieties like the Hare of Inaba, the Black Tortoise and such, and even beasts like Fenrir, Jormungand, the Yamata-no-Orochi and even the demons of the Ars Goeta. I'll even allow Lovecraftian Horrors like Nyarlathotep or Cthulhu. However, you cannot choose a being that exists as a species, and not a single person e.g. Undines, Griffins... However, if such a being was previously depicted as a single god and not a whole species, such as Empusa, go ahead.

Try to play fair please. I know some gods are more powerful than others, but do note that your power has been weakened.

While it would be reccomended to take on both Catalyst and God roles, you can have yourself and another user play these roles seperately.

Don't worry that we're all in seperate countries. How we meet up will be shown later.

Have fun! If you have questions to ask, go ahead.

Terminology

Catalyst - a human companion of a god. Some gods see their catalyst as worthy friends, others as tools of destruction. Gods can fuse with their respective Catalysts to enter their Catalysed Forms.

Yggdrasil Core - the core that stabilises the many realms. Its hundred pieces are scattered all over Midgard.

Tyr Faction - the 'good' gods. They are generally kind to their fellow Catalysts.

Loki Faction - the 'bad' gods. They are cruel and possess their catalysts from within, tainting their soul.

Rogue Gods - Gods who were once part of a faction, but no longer are. They lack a Catalyst

Slumber Mode - a form a god takes when he or she is not in combat. Generally human, although it can take the form of a pet animal or inanimate object. In this form, only a small fraction of their powers can be used.

Combat Mode - the form a god takes when in combat. In this state, they can use their abilities properly.

Catalysed Mode - this is when a god fuses with their Catalyst in Combat Mode. In this state, the abilities of the god are enhanced, in addition to gaining new abilities as well. The power of this form is determined by the bond between Catalyst and god.

Mecha Mode - A powerful, machine-like form that can only be accessed by enhancing a Catalysed Mode with ten pieces of the Yggdrasil Core. This mode gains new abilities and weaponry, but last only up to 5 posts. After this, these ten pieces are lost, only to be found later, one at a time.

Well, I was taught that she is the goddess of mercy. I know that she's a boddisahtva (sp?). ._. If I cannot think of a good personality for Guanyin, then can I reserve one of the Dragon Kings?

I'd like a reserve Sekhmet, the Egyptian Goddess of Healing, Plague, Power and Holy Vengeance for Tyr faction.

Catalyst
Name: Robert Silverwolf
Age: 30
Gender: Male, Straight
Appearance: Robert is a tall human who stands at a good 6ft. in height. He weighs 200 lbs and has a decently strong build. While not muscular, he has the appearance that one would normally associate with someone who has a decent workout regime and takes good care of his body. His skin is Caucasian , leaning more to a much lighter hue. His eyes are a light blue, and his hair is dark brown, short and curly, with some gray on his sideburns. He has a handlebar mustache, much like that of his favorite wrestler, Hulk Hogan.

He typically wears comfortable clothing. He rotates between blue jeans and black slacks with a stretch waist. For his tops, depending on the weather, he'll wear a white t-shirt, a black t-shirt with wolves, a dark blue sweatshirt with wolves, or a black tank top. For shoes, he either goes with slip-on black leather dress shoes, black sneakers, or his polished black military boots. His jacket is mostly orange with black along the sleeves, the center of the back and the center of the front. If he wears gloves, those are black cloth with orange leather over the backhand area and knuckles with a velcro strap for the wrist area.

Country of Origin: United States of America

Notable Skills:
~Marksmanship with rifles and handguns
~Capable of using artillery ordinance (AT4 Rocket Launcher, grenades, RPGs, turret operation in tank, other military weaponry)
~Somewhat skilled in swordplay
~Field medic, can apply emergency first aid, able to hook up catheters, apply field dressings, etc.
~Mixed martial arts

Personality: Robert is a bit of a mix of being introverted and extroverted. He has a small group of friends with which he has rock-solid ties to. However, it takes him a while to open up to new people. He tries to open things up with some jokes, and well-timed puns, and at heart he is like a kid. He loves playing video games, and is a bit of a D&D nerd. At parties though, he likes to relax and play some video games with others, dance and converse without that otherwise awkward silence.

However, when disaster strikes, his military experience takes over. He is a strong leader and focuses on everything going on around him. He is tactical and not afraid to get in on the action. He'll bark orders like a drill sergeant and isn't afraid to get up into someone's face in order to snap them into reality. He will act to help save as many people as he can, and knows how to treat the wounded in order to stabilize them and get them sent to where ever they need to go for better medical treatment.

History: Robert was born in the United States to his mother, a nurse who worked in a nursing home. She was a single parent during the time as she had divorced her husband after he was arrested for a crime that was hidden from her. She went on to marry another, a man named Victor. Victor was a landlord, but he was also abusive to the boy when his mother wasn't around. Robert grew up despising his step-father, but his mother never believed him.

When Robert went to school, he was typically the target of bullies. He was Roman Catholic and very devout at the time, and he was toothpick thin. Eventually, during his years in junior high, Robert began taking up Kempo martial Arts and chose to fight back against the bullies. While this landed him a number of detentions, the bullying ceased.

Upon graduating from high school, Robert chose to enlist into the US Army as a means to help pay for college when he got out. He chose to be a combat medic and was sent to Fort Leonard Wood for basic training. He went to the artillery section of Basic, learning not only how to fire off an M16A2 and 9mm, but also the M60 Sub-machine gun with tripod, the AT4 Rocket Launcher, how to operate a tank turret of an Abrams Tank, a Rocket Propelled Grenade, and standard military tactics.

Upon graduating from Basic, he went into his AIT training to be a combat medic. He learned much about anatomy, the tools of the trade, how to place a catheter, and many other ways of how to save the lives of his battle buddies. It was one of the most enjoyable times during his career, having a college feel to the training, and having the freedom to go out and enjoy himself, something he couldn't do in Basic, or even when he was growing up at home.

However, there were many things that were making his faith in Christianity falter. The pedophilia scandals in the church, seeing how hateful others of his faith were towards those not of their faith, the hypocrisy of people preaching but not living the teachings, and others. It wasn't until his deployment to Iraq that he met his future.

During one of his days off, Robert had decided that he wanted to start the morning off by going to the gym across the street of the hospital in the green zone. He had spent the week prior doing 12 hours shifts of guard duty each day on the guard duty rotation, which had left him often too drained to do any exercise. However, the person pulling head count for breakfast fell ill, and Robert was told to take the soldier's place. As he made his way to the mess hall, an RPG hit the gym.

After a brief skirmish which brought Robert into the first battle of his life, that night he had a dream. In the dream he stood before a beautiful lion-headed Goddess who introduced herself as Sekhmet. She told him that it was she who saved his life by making his fellow soldier sick, and that she had watched him throughout his entire life. She had seen him face adversity head-on and how he struggled against all that was conspiring against him. She would become his strength, and in time, he would aid Her in the world's time of need.

Robert woke up the next morning, perplexed by the dream. He had never heard of the name Sekhmet before, and during his time off after his shift at the emergency room, he went to the computer at the recreation center and began to research Sekhmet. He learned that she was an Egyptian Goddess. Like all Egyptian deities, She was a duality, a balance of good and bad. She could cause and protect against plagues. During times of war, She would fiercely defend those under Her protection and rip to shreds Her enemies. She brought vengeance upon the wicked and strengthened the righteous. And priests who followed Her were the doctors and surgeons of that era.

It wasn't until Ragnarok that She appeared before Robert once more, this time physically. By that time, Robert had left the military with an Honorable Discharge when he chose to end his time in service and go to college. He had completed school and earned a degree in Veterinary Technology. But during all of the natural disasters, he was spending most of his time tending to the injured and guiding people to shelters.

Sekhmet explained that the end of times were upon them. She desired to see humanity survive the ordeal and for existence to continue, even if there was a point in time long ago where she hated humanity for rebelling against Her Father, Ra. She had grown to be very protective of the underdogs like him who grew strong enough to overcome the challenges they faced, and wanted humanity to become stronger still.

Robert agreed and decided it was time to once again take up arms. While he certainly didn't have the kind of ordinance that he was able to use during his military career, he still had a few peacemakers and a sword he had bought during a renaissance fair. It felt like something out of a fantasy novel, but it was real and it was happening now.

Others:
Theme Song: Unknown Soldier

Deity
Name: Sekhmet
Alias: Lady of Plague, Power of the Sun, She before whom all Isfet (Evil) Trembles, Deliverer of Holy Vengeance
Gender: Female
Origin: Egyptian
Weapons/Divine Relics: Sekhmet dual wields two flaming khopesh swords. These are curved swords that start out straight at the bottom portion of the blade, and then sport a crescent shape as they curve around in a D-like arc.. These blades are black and have a gold blood groove along the center of the flat sides of the blades. They also give off intense heat and can burst into flames upon Her command.

Slumber Mode Appearance: Sekhmet's human appearance is that of a powerful yet beautiful woman. She stands at 5ft. 11in. in height, and is a good 180 lbs in weight. That heft, however, is muscle. While she doesn't look like a typical body builder, one can see the definition of Her muscles, and no signs of the throbbing veins that most body builders sport. She has an hourglass figure and a D-cup sized chest. Her skin is olive in color, and she has long, dark brown hair that reaches down to Her lower back, with two bangs that fall alongside Her eyes, reaching down to Her collar bone. Her eyes are a lovely shade of green.

In this form, She typically wears a form-fitting red sleeveless dress with slits down along the side leg areas. However, for her more casual appearance, she is known to wear some black jeans. She pairs this up with a red tanktop which hugs her torso while keeping her arms with free range of motion. She will normally wear red laced high heels, but will also opt for red laced sandals for a more casual feel.

Combat Mode Appearance: In this form, She increases her size to 6ft. 2in. in height while keeping her powerful figure. However, Her form is more akin to that of an anthropomorphic lioness. She keeps her long brown hair, but gains a sun disk and a golden cobra crown resting upon Her head. Her green eyes become amber in color in this form. Her body is covered in lioness fur, and her lioness tail can be seen attached to the small of her lower back.

She wears a dress of crimson red, loose enough to allow Her free range of movement, and it prevents blood stains from detracting from the dress. Her fur is a soft light brown, with black lips along Her muzzle. Her teeth have become that of a lioness, with a pair of curved, sharp incisors capable of rending flesh and shattering bone. She carries her dual khopesh swords which can be sheathed into the slots of her belt.

Basic Abilities:
Healing Touch - She can use Her power to rid the body of illness or mend flesh.
Plague Touch - She can inflict illness upon the one she touches, from a simple case of vomiting to Bubonic Plague if She feels the recipient is truly deserving of such punishment for his/her sins. The length of the disease can last for 24 hours tops given her weakened condition. On average though, the disease will usually last for a few hours as a means to cripple a target.
Empowerment - She can bequeath a portion of her strength to others, giving them a temporary burst of superhuman strength.
Fire Manipulation - She can create and manipulate all sorts of flames, much like Fire Bending for those Avatar: Last Airbender fans. Her flames can reach the temperatures of the sun itself.
Divine Strength - Sekhmet is the living Egyptian embodiment of power, and as such she is strong enough to match the likes of Hercules, Asura, Atlus and Ares in sheer brute strength.
Searing Blades - She can enchant her dual khopesh blades with the intense fires of the sun, searing every cut she makes and severely burning the flesh, making healing near impossible as each cut cauterizes the injuries made.
Fire Immunity - As she is the manifestation of the sun's power, she cannot be harmed by flames. Instead, she can absorb them and use them to increase Her strength.
Disease Immunity: As One who commands and repells plagues, She is immune to all forms of illness.

Catalysed Mode Appearance: The merger of Robert and Sekhmet creates a powerful lion-like warrior, much akin to the appearance of Bantyo Leomon from Digimon Data Squad. Robert's anthropomorphic lion form stands at a good 6ft. 5in. tall with a powerful, muscular appearance. His fur is golden orange, while his hair has become pure silver and long enough that it reaches down to his mid-back. He wears white cloth wrapping over his wrists and knuckles, as well as around his waist. He has baggy black leather pants with a black and silver-buckled belt around his waist, upon which are a number of pouches.

The pants end at midway between his knees and ankles, tapered off in white cloth. He has a lion tail, and wears on his top a black leather trenchcoat with a chain that he can detach to use like a whip. His eyes are blue like his human counterpart, but have a feline appearance like his Goddess counterpart. He wears a red and gold headband on his forehead with a black see-through visor attached. He also has holstered to his belt a Desert Eagle handgun.

Catalysed Mode Abilities:
Healing Aura - Robert can create an aura that regenerates himself and those within a certain radius of him. This is an ability that works much like in Diablo 2, where it regenerates health at a faster pace than normal, but will not completely heal everyone at once.
Healing Touch - Much like before, only now healing is faster and more thorough.
Plague Shot - Robert infuses his bullets with plague, causing any wound created by them to spread infection and inflammation, preventing healing and regeneration magics from working on them until the plague is cured first. The disease this attack causes can last for several hours, shorter than Plague Touch as the recipient will have much worse things headed their way than just this single attack.
Flame Shot - Robert infuses his bullets with the heat of the sun. These bullets will not only inflict additional fire damage, but it will cauterize the wound it makes, hindering healing and regeneration abilities/magics.
Healing Shot - Instead of firing out bullets, he can fire shots of healing energy, which can partially heal a target.
Divine Power Amplified - Much like divine power, only now the physical strength is double of what Sekhmet's physical strength was before the merger.
Flame Whip - Robert removes the long chain from his leather trenchcoat and uses it like a whip. The flames of the whip can reach the temperature of the sun, and can elongate at the will of the wielder
Fire Immunity - Same as before, Robert and Sekhmet's combined form is immune to fire of all sorts and can absorb and empower themselves from those flames.
Disease Immunity - Same as before, this combined form is immune to all forms of disease.

Mecha Mode Appearance: In Mecha form, Sekhmet grows to be at good 60ft in height and becomes made of gold and red godmetal. Her face looks like a lioness's head as if made origami style. Her body is a slender figure to allow for greater speeds. Along the length opf her arms are long, curved blades that can pop out switch-blade style. She still has a lion tail that acts more like Soul Calibur Ivy's chain sword.

Even in this form, she has a female-esque figure and most of her torso is made of red godmetal. She is fast and strong in this form, and like her other forms, she prefers up close and personal combat. However, with the ability to fire a shotgun-like projectile from her mech feline mouth, she is able to engage in medium ranged combat. She can also use the solar disk on her head to gather up sunlight. Once enough has been soaked in, she can unleash a powerful beam of fire and intense heat, which is her one long-range attack.

Mecha Mode Abilities:
Searing Blades - Much like before, she can heat her blades up to the temperature of the sun and can melt the metal bodies of other mechs that are not resistant to intense fire and heat.
Fire Burst - Much like Catalysed, except that She can fire a highly condensed ball of flame that then bursts forward like shotgun pellets, causing massive fiery damage at close to medium range
Tail Lash - Sekhmet can use Her chainsword-like tail to slash, or most times wrap around a limb or neck and then quickly yank it back in order to try and remove a limb or head of another mech.
Virus Fangs/Claws - Any bite or claw strike that punctures the enemy mech can inject a virus code into the injured mech, causing malfunctions.
Immunity to Fire - Same as before.
Immunity to Viruses - Much like how Immunity to Disease works, only this time it prevents her from being infected by mech viruses
Super god strength - Her physical power is at its peak in this form.
Solar beam - Just like the Pokemon Move, she can absorb the rays of the sun and release a massive beam blast that can incinerate or melt whatever is in it's path. This is her strongest fire attack.

Personality: Sekhmet is, as most all Egyptian Gods and Goddesses are, a duality. She is in many ways like the lioness that is Her form. She is a caring yet strict parent to her followers. She will protect those under her care with utmost ferocity, and She will guide those under her care like a loving and nurturing parent, so that they grow up to be strong and righteous. However, she will not dote on those in her care. If they mess up, they are to learn from their experiences, and if they commit sins, she will punish them accordingly. She is also very tomboyish, wanting to have fun and compete against others. She is approachable, but She is blunt about Her feelings and will never refrain from speaking Her mind.

However, the other side of her is that of a warrior who lives for the hunt. To Her enemies, She is vicious, merciless, and can even be bloodthirsty. She uses her speed and overwhelming strength to take down her opponents. While using Her khopesh blades is Her main means of attack, she will not hesitate to use Her claws or her fangs. She is not stupid, however, when it comes to tactics. She knows how to cripple her foes with illness, and wields fire with great skill. And if it comes down to it, she's smart enough to escape and regenerate her wounds before going back into the fray.

Mythololgy: Sekhmet is a solar deity, also called the daughter of the sun god Ra, and is often associated with the goddesses Hathor and Bast. She bears the solar disk and the uraeus which associates her with Wadjet and royalty. With these associations she can be construed as being a divine arbiter of the goddess Ma'at (Justice, or Order) in the Judgment Hall of Osiris, associating her with the Wedjat (later the Eye of Ra), and connecting her with Tefnut as well.

Sekhmet is one of the oldest known Egyptian deities. Her name is derived from the Egyptian word "Sekhem" (which means "power" or "might") and is often translated as the "Powerful One". She is depicted as a lion-headed woman, sometimes with the addition of a sun disc on her head. Her seated statues show her holding the ankh of life, but when she is shown striding or standing she usually holds a sceptre formed from papyrus (the symbol of northern or Lower Egypt) suggesting that she was associated primarily with the north.

Sekhmet was represented by the searing heat of the mid-day sun (in this aspect she was sometimes called "Nesert", the flame) and was a terrifying goddess. However, for her friends she could avert plague and cure disease. She was the patron of Physicians and Healers, and her priests became known as skilled doctors. As a result, the fearsome deity sometimes called the "lady of terror" was also known as "lady of life". Sekhmet was mentioned a number of times in the spells of The Book of the Dead as both a creative and destructive force, but above all, she is the protector of Ma'at (balance or justice) named "The One Who Loves Ma'at and Who Detests Evil".

The saving of mankind was commemorated every year on the feast days of Hathor & Sekhmet. Everyone drank beer stained with pomegranate juice and worshiped "the Mistress and lady of the tomb, gracious one, destroyer of rebellion, mighty one of enchantments". A statue of Sekhmet was dressed in red facing west, while Bast was dressed in green and faced east. Bast was sometimes considered to be Sekhmet´s counterpart (or twin depending on the legend), and in the festival of Hathor they embodied the duality central to Egyptian mythology. Sekhmet represented Upper Egypt while Bast represented Lower Egypt.

History: Sekhmet had ridden upon the prow of Ra's boat since the dawn of time. Her goal was to keep Her father safe from the Devourer of Existance, Apep. She excelled at her duty, and gave power to Ra, to be filtered and sent to the planet He wished to foster life upon. She was actually two Goddesses in one. On the peaceful side was Hathor, the Goddess of Beauty and Love. Sekhmet was the more violent side, but despite that she was loyal to Her father Ra above all else.

Ra then fostered a colony of humans, along with his son Osiris and daughter Isis. These humans lived in the region that would later be known as Egypt. Ra, Djuehuty, Osiris and Set all helped to cultivate humanity, as well as provide them challenges to overcome. All watched as humanity rose to become a powerful nation and people, achieving great works and advances. However, as their greatness rose, so too did their conceit.

One day, a group of humans led by a corrupt pharoah declared the Gods to be obsolete, and that they themselves should become Gods. Angered by this, Ra sent Sekhmet to quell the rebels. However, the outcome was not what Ra had expected. Sekhmet developed a taste for human blood, and Her thirst for battle blinded her, endangering humanity. Ra and Djehuty concocted a plan. They filled a lake with beer and dyed the liquid crimson with pomegranate. thinking it to be blood, Sekhmet drank the entire lake, falling into a drunken slumber shortly after. Ra removed Sekhmet and reprimanded her. During that time, the power of the sun weakened during her mourning in penance over what She had done. She then returned, striving to keep her desire for battle in check, saving Her wrath for those truly deserving of it. During the arrival of Yahweh who sought to free His people from a corrupt pharaoh, Ra agreed to deny His blessings and protection to the people of Egypt as punishment for their corruption. As such, he sought the company of humans who would uphold his tenants instead, broadening his reach through Pagan groups.

Eventually, after several thousand years, Ragnarok occurred. Tyr approached Ra to ask for aid in order to save the many realms from annihilation. Ra has a vested interest in humanity, and Sekhmet was His fiercest warrior. With the Egyptian Gods in tow, He sought to help bring an end to the apocalypse before all that was created ended up destroyed. Sekhmet was at the front of the Egyptian armies, and many that She faced found themselves in awe and fear of Her ferocity, power and Her ability to cause those against Her power to cripple in disease and weakness.

However, she also found herself fighting other Gods with equal power. Only after facing three of the most physically powerful evil Gods was she defeated and sent falling to Earth. Those she faced were also heavily injured and fell to the mortal realm along with her. After landing, she found herself in Connecticut, in the United States. It was there that she would meet a human that she offered aid to several years before Ragnarok began. He was a human who started as the weakest and most vulnerable, but who had stood strong and overcame those who conspired against him to become a mighty warrior and healer. She explained the situation, and the young man accepted Her offer.

I liked your app, Zorupix.
Hmmm... Plague Touch and Plague Shot do seem slightly overpowered. Maybe make it so that the disease will wear off eventually if it's a major one, or something like that.

Apart from that, accepted.

- A minute knowledge of medicine, chemistry, and biology.
- Knowledge of a bit of Marine Corps Martial Arts (once looked it up in his spare time); knows multiple sweeps.
- Knows how to handle and fire a firearm, although he doesn't know whether he's a good marksman or not.
- Learns quickly; can think quickly when he needs to.

Personality: People frequently call him smart or brilliant. He understands how everyone deserves to go to hell, including himself, but believes no one should have to (no one should have to suffer). However, he is willing to kill people, acknowledging all human death and suffering as the price to pay for everyone having free will, with which everyone sins against each other while they are alive.

He doesn't want to have to kill people; at least, not without them having learned something, but he knows he'll still have to, and that Death is going to have much work to do during Ragnarok. He knows that Death will always continue to be, even after Ragnarok is finished, but he isn't even sure about whether or not he intends to outlive the end of it all. Still, he knows he has much work which must be done.

History: He was born and raised in Texas, in San Antonio. He had 1 older brother and 2 younger sisters. He had a decent life, always doing considerably well in school (in fact, he was quite a bit of a nerd). He used to be weak, thin, and frail in his youngest days. Eventually, when he reached the end of middle school, he decided it would be best for him to attempt to become as physically capable as he can. He decided to play football in high school, and has become a decent athlete. His scholarly knowledge has been commendable.

He used to hate his life because of how difficult it was, as well as all people in it for having made it so difficult. He abhorred everyone; he was a complete misanthrope. What didn't help was how his youngest sister was murdered violently by a serial rapist alongside several other preschool-aged children several years before. What didn't help was the fact that his parents filed for divorce almost immediately afterwards. At first, he blamed God for having let that happen. Then he realized: it's not God's fault; it's theirs. They were the ones who made life so horrible for him. Everyone else deserved to go to hell for what they have done. One day, he got himself into a horrible fight (which, upon later consideration, he provoked) with one of his friends. Quickly afterwards, he realized he deserves to burn in hell forever as well.

He hated life so much for having been so miserable, but, little by little, he realized what was best for everyone (which is to apologize for what you have done, forgive each other and be willing to suffer hell in order to accomplish what you know is right; what's best for others, no matter how terrible things are), and felt a bit better.

He has lately spent quite some time wandering around his neighborhood, walking to and from his friends' places and a few stores, helping out the people he knows however he can. He recently encountered someone who claimed to be a "messenger of the Lord" on one of these walks who happened to be looking for him. He just realized, as he may hardly have ever considered, that the world is much deeper than just what he has seen...

Deity

(Shinigami King), Death, the King of Death, the Reaper, the Soul Reaper/Harvester, the Grim Reaper, That Guy with the Scythe, FINIS, MORS, THANATVS, Mal'ak ha-Mawet, عزرائيل/عزرایل (Azra'eil/ʿIzrāʾīl, also spelled Azrael, Izrail, Azrin, Izrael, Azriel, Azrail, Ezraeil, Azraille, Azryel, Ozryel, or Azraa-eel), the Destroyer, the Destroying Angel, the Angel of Death, the Angel of the Abyss, Rider on a Pale Horse; I have many more names in mind and I could go on if I wanted to, but I won't.

Gender: Genderless in his actual form; male while on earth.

Origin: Well... everything; he's an inherent aspect of life in general, and, most especially, humanity's sapient nature...

Weapons/Divine Relics: Contrary to popular belief, he does not actually wield a scythe. Instead, in battle, he draws his sword with which he frequently crushes all life it touches. It has a 4-arm-long, 4-palm-wide, 4-finger-thick two-edged blade and a hilt which is 4 palms long and has a radius of about 1 fingerbreadth. (Yeah; those dimensions are just essentially for the lulz.) It has the power to instantly cause anything which it makes physical contact with to die in accordance with whatever way he desires it to; he can kill whoever he chooses to in the most horrible manner possible.

Slumber Mode Appearance: Even intentionally suppressing himself, he weighs about 210 lbs. and stands at over 6'6" tall. He has white skin, red veins, black hair, and silver eyes. He wears a gray t-shirt, plain jeans, and silver shoes. He has no distinguishable physical or behavioral characteristics, which, oddly enough, just makes him stand out even more in a crowd.

Combat Mode Appearance: Thanatos gains a set of shining silver angel wings. He often grows to a colossal size (he doesn't have to, but he can alter his own size at will; he usually chooses to grow to a size of just several hundred feet, or simply whatever best matches who or what he's fighting against).

His clothes either grow to accompany his size, or, when he has to become over a mile tall, just immediately vanish and are replaced by a cloak with a hood. His sword takes form, and he carries it in his right hand, prepared to slaughter anyone who need be killed. In this form, he is genderless.

Basic Abilities:

Death's Contact - by touching someone, he can kill him/her however he desires (however God tells him to; what sort of death would be perfect for that sort of person in that sort of situation).
Human Omniscience - he knows everything all humans know; this doesn't apply to other Deities, nor does it to Catalysts who are under their protection.
Absolute Death - up to once during each hour, he can kill anyone remotely however God tells him to simply by thinking about them.
Implacable Slavery - he can't be stopped from executing God's will; also, he shall not kill someone whom God has told him to spare.
God's Blessing - he is protected from all forms of magic or curses; also, as long as his Catalyst hasn't sinned against anyone in any manner whatsoever without repenting for it, so is he.
Size Manipulation - self-explanatory.
Flight - self-explanatory.

Catalysed Mode Appearance: Ion absorbs Thanatos and transforms into an angelic hybrid. He becomes completely immense; he reaches a size of at least hundreds of feet tall and covers up the entire sky, levitating above the city in which he is located, looking down. His eyes glow shining red.

He grows shining wings extremely similar to those of Thanatos, but much more ornate. His sword materializes immediately. He usually carries it in his right hand, as Thanatos does in his Combat Mode, stretched out over the city or whoever God tells him to kill. Being a fusion of both God's perfection and humanity's free will, this has the potential to become their strongest form.

Catalysed Mode Abilities:

Death's Grip - he can kill people just by touching them in accordance with his own will.
Human Omniscience - exactly the same as Thanatos has; he loses the ability to see the thoughts of all people if he sins against anyone else.
Absolute Death - stronger; he can kill anyone within several miles by firing metaphysical beams of energy, as well as by thinking about them (in the latter case, he can only kill them once per hour); if he kills someone with this ability after having sinned, he must apologize for having killed anyone by using this, as well.
Human Psychē - He can choose to do whatever he wants to and use his own ideas; if he learns how to, he can use this to alter the fabric of everything, and, if used properly, he can change reality; at first, he'll only be able to do things like slightly amplify gravity or twist/distort an extent of some motion; however, eventually, once they get into perfect empathy, he'll be able to do things like flat-out control matter and energy in a given time and space, alter their universal properties substantially, and redirect how it all moves entirely.
God's Blessing - he is immune to all forms of magic and curses, as long as he doesn't sin or misuse his abilities.
Size Manipulation - exactly the same as Thanatos in his Combat Mode; if he sins, this ability becomes limited.
Gift of Flight - exactly the same as Thanatos in his Combat Mode; as with God's Blessing, if he sins without repenting to God and apologizing to others whom he has sinned against, whether they're humans or Deities, he loses this ability.

Mecha Mode Appearance: Thanatos' skin becomes coated in sharp, piercing tungsten which, while not being used in fighting, looks exactly as it does in his human form, but can shift to create razors, spikes, and blades. His body can be torn up and gradually regenerate itself; also, he can control autotomized limbs from a distance.

His clothes vanish, and his eyes are altered into metal as well. He essentially becomes a form of mechanical, non-carbon-based life. His wings in this form can rip people to shreds. This form makes things very clear: this messenger shoots YOU.

Mecha Mode Abilities:

Death's Headlock - he can cause all people to die just by touching him or any part of him that he may shatter off; they usually freeze up while doing so.
Human Omniscience - exactly the same as in his Combat Mode.
Implacable Slavery - exactly the same as in his Combat and Slumber Mode.
Fundamental Energy Death - he can kill up to one person each minute by thinking about them; he can shut down any and all technology which relies on electromagnetism and/or nuclear power within a 12,000-mile radius; he can fire off a colossal EMP; he can displace any number of electrons, protons, or neutrons anywhere within that radius, and, as a result, murder people; while doing so, he can, for example, fashion matter into a nuke or construct a gigantic Tesla coil which incorporates several people as part of its design, and, so, murder even more people, as long as he's already causing people to die by doing so; taps into the same power as his Size Manipulation in this form, and, so, if he stays smaller, this becomes a lot stronger and easier to use.
God's Blessing - exactly the same as in his Combat Mode; protects him from viruses as well.
Size Manipulation - exactly the same as in his Combat Mode, except in that, in this form, it uses the same source of power as his Fundamental Energy Death ability.
Flight - exactly the same as in his Combat Mode.

Personality: He is cold and shows absolutely no humanly relatable emotion. He doesn't care about how he may feel or about how life may feel; he just cares about doing what he knows is right. He takes an absolutely objective perception of everything, only trying to accomplish what he's told to do.

He's anomalous and, in his own way, idiosyncratic, to say the least, and completely lacks any measure of actual human behavior. He looks like he's a person who has severe autism. In spite of all this, he is extremely courteous, and always takes care to never do anything which could potentially bother another conscious being. He appears to be the kind of person that other people would actually like to talk with a bit more.

He doesn't like people to address him by any other names than what he has been given; for the sake of being modest, he prefers to be referred to as "Messenger".

Mythology: According to Greek mythology (both Homer and Hesoid), which, aside from the Old Testament, has the oldest recorded personification of him as a being, Death was the twin brother of Sleep, born alike from their father, Darkness, and their mother, Night.

He was responsible for ensuring whatever people the gods requested him to kill were sent right on their way to ΑΙΔΗΣ, and was commanded by the gods to carry out the murders of the people whom they desired to be killed however they wanted to. They usually did this to determine the outcomes of wars, as well as what would happen to humans with whom they interacted in general.

What he has no jurisdiction over, of course, is what plane of being exactly whosoever he does kill ends up in.

History:

The destroying angel has been before the universe (all spacetime) was even created; he was one of the several countless messengers with God before he formed reality from all the chaos. After everything was created, on the day in which Adam and Eve disobeyed what they knew they should have done, he knew he would have to be the one to execute God's will and cause humanity to pay the earthly punishment for having the knowledge of good and evil, with which people have always only opted for evil, or only opted for good occasionally in the event that God gave them something good (a grace) which they did not deserve beforehand (people have never acted kindly out of their own initial incentive). He knew that would have to happen; all humanity would have to gain the knowledge of good and evil; otherwise, there would be no such thing as good (real good, which results from people's free wills). As a result, all human pain has occurred. He has been the one to bring all humans to Sheol, as well as to the home in what God called "Abraham's bosom", until the day in which heaven was finally made open for all people.

During the Exodus, he served God by, shortly following Moshe's proclamation of the 10th and final Plague against Aegypt, killing all the firstborn of the people whose homes weren't protected by lambs' blood painted in a seal on the outsides of their doors. He personally murdered all of them to deal the final blow to the pharaoh in order to finally convince him to set the Hebrews free; the Aegyptians had caused them much pain.

Several hundreds of years later, the Hebrew King David had chosen to disobey God and count all the people of God's nation, worrying about numbers rather than opting to rely on and trust God. He nearly had to smite them with pestilence, too, with his sword drawn against Jerusalem, until David and the Hebrews donned their sackcloth and repented.

Since then, he's been wandering the earth metaphysically and killing off whoever God might happen to tell him to. Recently, dissension amongst some certain entities who managed to get themselves called gods has been stirring. Once Ragnarok happened, the Messenger realized it was the hour for him to materialize on earth, and that he was going to have a ton of work to do. God dispatched him to be somewhere in the middle of the United States of America, and he wandered around until, eventually, he found a suitable Catalyst.

Faction: The other gods consider him to be part of Tyr's Faction, although he believes he is doing what is right in his own way.

Other: Other gods can get protection from Death's abilities by gaining YHWH's favor; this is usually done by committing an act of kindness to someone whom said god would typically be expected to hate; however, they cannot have acted kindly simply so that they could receive God's favor; also, other Catalysts won't die as quickly; they'll die slowly, painfully, subtly, and even unknowingly with regards for the cause; this will give them a chance to realize what happened and fix everything.
