This RPG is rated PG-13, for violence and slight language. Cave Story isn't my idea, all rights go to Pixel Studios.

The island had always been there, floating in the sky. People couldn't imagine life without it just floating there. It never showed signs of anything, whatsoever. Eventually, tales about it began to spring up, and there were legends flying everywhere. People claimed it was the island where mythological creatures had been banished too, while others stated that a boisterous power was hidden inside the many caves. Eventually, a man was so curious that he decided to go to the island, hoping to find the power. This happened twelve years ago. The man then reappeared, with an army of enraged bunnies that started to attack the surface about one year after he left. He wore an odd crown, and he had a witch named Misery and a toaster-looking fella named Balrog following him around everywhere. The countries of the surface began to construct recon robots, so that they could fight the bunnies, properly known as Migima. It happened for a year, and a gruesome war was the result. Even though people weren't actually fighting, hundreds died every day, because of bombing and accidental self-destructs. People started to get tired of the war, and wanted to give in.

But after that first year of war, a group of researchers didn’t want to give up. They realized that the Migima couldn’t be the real problem, as they seemed harmless enough. Then, they discovered the real problem: The Demon Crown. The man, whose name was Bun, had found the crown, and used its power to enrage the usually peaceful Migima to do his bidding. The researchers designed seven more robots, each one humanlike in nature and appearance. The researchers sent their robots up to the island to destroy the Demon Crown. Even though the robots were successful, they never came back to the surface. Ten years passed. The same researchers who had built the robots decided to go to the island, but purely for scientific reasons. But the threat Demon Crown still lurks behind the corner, and tensions are rising within the group. One of the men, called the Doctor, has been showing an odd interest in it.

Of course, the matter of the robots still is still here. What happened to them? The truth was while they were fighting Bun, they didn’t destroy the Demon Crown. They killed Bun, thinking that if he was dead, that the Demon Crown would lose all of its powers. They were right about one thing, the Migima went back into their more peaceful state, but Balrog and Misery remained. The robots tried their hardest to dispose of them, but they were already damaged from the fight with Bun, and they ended up losing. They went into a state of sleep for the years after the war before the researchers came in. While Misery transported some of them to a remote cave, she transported two to a place called the Sand Zone. When the researchers landed, though, one of them pressed the emergency activation switch for the robots, for they thought that the robots might have survived, but gone into their sleep mode. They did wake up, but they had no recollection of their past, and could only remember their names.

In the Migima Village where the research group was staying, though, tensions were rising. All of the Migimas were suspicious of the humans, but some more than others. Arthur, their leader, tried to get the citizens to trust the group, as he did, but his right hand Migima, King, was spreading dark rumors about the group, saying that they were there to respark the war. Some of the Migima chose to believe him, but others not.

This is where you come in. Whether you are a researcher staying peacefully in the Migima Village, a Migima trying to adopt to the strange ways of the humans, or a robot with no recollection of who they are that woke up in a cave, this is your story. This is your Cave Story.

***

This is a RPG, as stated above, based loosely off of the plot of the game Cave Story. There are three different roles you can fill. You could be a researcher, on the island to discover things about it, wondering why the Doctor is acting so odd. You might be a Migima, who lived a carefree life until the war so many years ago. Even though you know that the humans staying in the village are good, you feel a bit uncomfortable around them. Or you may be one of the five robots who woke up in a cave with no memory of your past, who comes to the village and ends up finding out that you were one of the seven humanlike robots who stopped the war before.

Important NPCs:
-Itoh: One of the really techie guys on the team, Itoh is the guy who actually built the robots. He is a small, cowardly man, but he will do what is right when push comes to shove.

-Sue Sakamoto: The leader of the group, Sue brought along her children, Kazuma and Sue along on the journey. Kazuma came willingly, whereas Sue often resisted, but gave in at the end.

-The Doctor: The Doctor is purely what his name states, a doctor. He has an odd interest in the Demon Crown.

-Curly Brace and Quote: Amnesic residents of the Sand Zone, a part of the island. They take care of a group of orphan Migima.

-Arthur: Arthur is number one in the village. A strong willed Migima, and brother to Torkoro.

-King: Arthur’s right hand Migima. He is extremely suspicious of the research group.

The Places of the Island:

Migima Village
Egg Corridor
Grass Zone
Sand Zone
Labyrinth (A.K.A. the Junkyard)
Outer Wall
Plantation

Rules:
-Only one of each type of character, please.
-All SPPf forum rules.
-No reservations for robot spots. There is only a limited amount of spots, and I don't want people to reserve and never do anything. Researchers and Migima can be reserved, though.
-Be creative, and have fun!

A quick note about the robots: Even though the robots are human in appearance, there are still some things that deter from them. First off, the robots have completely white skin. They also have headsets that are green. They will also have names like Quote. Otherwise, they are completely humanlike.

Name:Amber Knuckle
Age: N/A
Gender: Female
Species: Robot

Appearance: Amber Knuckle, or Amber, is a taller robot. Even then, she is only about 4'11" in height. She has white skin like all of the other robots. Her head is ovalish in shape. She has short-cut chestnut hair, and hazel eyes that seem to change color at times. Her nose is exceptionally small, and so is her mouth. She has a glint in her eyes that seems to show mischief. Her headsets are green, but Amber has tried to paint them different colors, so splothes of yellow and orange remain on them. Amber wears a black tank-top endorned with a yellow star, and has blue jeans that are ripped up at the ankles. She wears a hilt that holds her machine gun, which also doubles as a belt. She wears white tennis shoes that are very dirty, from wear and tear. She has a golden necklace with a small diamond in the shape of a screwdriver on it.

Personality: Amber is a bit of a loose cannon. She likes destruction, and will cause it in whatever ways she can. She tries not to hurt people, though, just things. Being the loose cannon she is, she will discharge her gun by accident at people, and people find her a pest. She is also tries to be friendly, but it usually doesn't work out... too well.... When it doesn't work, Amber goes into either a fit of depression or rage, which are both equally bad. Depressed, all Amber will do is sit around and sulk, and raged, she will try to find the most explosive thing possible and put it into someone's pocket. She also has mischief within her, so if you're an enemy, Amber will probally play tons of tricks on you. Some are petty, harmless, annyoying tricks, while others are fatal. She hates getting into arguements, though.

History: Amber wasn't always the way she is not. She actually used to be one of the emotionless robots during the war. She was extremely good at what she did, and what she did was slay rabid Migima. She must have y out a few hundred before she was defeated by an Igour, which is a mutated Migima times ten. Unlike the other defeated robots, for some reason, Amber didn't self-destruct. The research team found her robotic body, and decided to make the first robot of their "dream team". The whole reason Amber was taller than the other robots was for this reason.

Amber had many glitches at first, so she basically went through two stages, prototype and final. When she reached the final stage, the researchers had finally found the technology to create the humanlike emotions and conciousness. Amber still had the destructive motives of an army robot, but now that she had reasoning, she was a bit less destrictive.

Weapon: Amber carries a machine gun, but it isn't big and bulky. On the contrary, it's small and sleek. It's shaped like a pistol, and it's conpletely yellow. It holds 100 bullets. The bullets are actually conpacted bursts of pure energy that explode on impact.

Other: Amber got her name because when she was found, her knuckles were amber colored. She is the tallest becuase the researchers wanted a small, compact robot team, and thought she was too tall.
