CBtress needs some love

~*CB*~ agrees with me that this set has alot of potential if used correctly. It has BASE 90 ATTACK! No one seems to care about that, though. I got the idea from colo, when I KOed 2 of Evice's Pokemon with my Forry's Explosion (No Chocie Band). Because of that, I won. I bagan thinking (Hmmm... WHat if I used Chocie Band on it)

Pin Missle is very useful on it. A STABed PM that gives out 5 hits does more damage than a non-STABed Earthqukae. Earthquake is there for Raw power, and the last to move are for personal prefrences. I use boom and HP Steel on mine.

I've only posted this moveset twice befoer to help people, but it got no positive comment. This set DOES have alot goign for it, but people are single-minded and think that Smogon(Or other site's) sets are the ONLY ones that can work.

It looks actually pretty fun. What is it's HP's power?

about 50 >.<; It was either that or a HP Ice 20 one XDD

I just hope no-one ever steals this Dunsparce Original(TM)

This is what insired me to make fun sets. This is what started it all, and so far none of my other fun sets have been as successful in the BF and Coloseum Mode and such as this.

i <3 your fun Ninetale set you gave me a long time ago!! :D

Eheheh... Thanks ^^; I use that set on my Modest Nintales. It's HP is Electric 65ish. I got it while breeding for a SHiny Vulpix (which is now a level 50 Shiny Ninetales)

My top priority is having fun. I mean, what good is a videogame if you're not having fun playing it?

Forretress is my 2nd favorite bug because of the whole incident (after Ariados). It's my pride and joy

... how's that work? HP has to be at least 30 power, that's how the move works.

OMFG................
Yes that looks like it could work well, and I do agree with you on it being a game and fun sets are heaps good to use ingame. Who cares if they're not up to scratch for competetive? i agree that being original is good.

why choice Band with Explosion???

Yeah, this is a pretty good set. Forretress can dent a lot of common Pokémon with a Choice Banded attack, KOing some, even. It has two somewhat uncommon STABs. They might not be the best STABs, but they definitely have their uses.

And also, Forretress has amazing Defense, as we all know. That means it's a lot harder to take down for the foe. If the pplayer senses that Forretress is in trouble, he/she can switch it out. Forretress is durable enough to take a damaging blow and live through it, and by that point, you know that Forretress has done its purpose for the time being.

That said, though, CBTress is overlooked because there are a lot of superior Choice Banders out there, whether it be due to movepool or Base Attack. Base 90 is well above average, but compared to Salamence and Heracross, whose Base Attacks are far into the 100's, it seems kinda pointless to settle for less.

CBTress is quite unpredictable, though. Bring out a Forretress, and your foe is expecting Spikes. So they bring out their Starmie in preparation(I know, probably not the best example; no one switches Starmie in on a Forretress), and Forretress outpredicts it. A single HP Bug obliterates that Starmie. But, in a more likely scenario, you're going to have a Claydol or a Donphan. Claydol can just weep as Forretress sends it an HP Bug, and even Donphan can't stand up to a 400+ Attack Stat for a long while.

With Adamant, Max Attack EVs and IVs, and Choice Band, Forretress's Attack Stat goes noticeably far over non-CBMence's(459, IIRC). If Salamence can kill things without a Choice Band and 405 Attack, what can Forretress do with two Physical STABs and a superior Attack?

So, in short, CBTress does work. Perhaps not as well as the Standard, certainly not as well as the other CBers, but it works. Give it a spin if you want, it'll KO a lot more things than you'll expect.

Actually, I've tried CBtress once or twice competivly and it works. It's a shame I don't have NB anymore ;-;

So you finally dedicated a thread to your funky Forry.

Yep :D My goal is to help inspire creativity in making movesets. But some ideas just don't work, like Tanking Shiftry or Special Sneasel (Neither of which I have ever tried) XDD

Adamant Nature + 252 Atatck IV's + Base 90 Attack + Choice Band + boom = DEAD OPPONENT.

I used forretress on a CBteam, rapid spinning and providing physical defense is cool for a lack of a better word.

Needs a lot of wish support. Which leads me to my beef about it. People use forretress for a physical wall and for spiking support and by putting choice band on it it ruins the purpose of it (spikes won't work and it has to invest in adamant and attack evs) and it will get weared down faster than usual. It also loses its leftover recovery. Point put, it won't make a good physical wall with chocie band which was what it was designed to be.

It is also sad that it can't get two good stab moves at the same time. Although, I'd go hp bug>>>>>>>>>>hp steel all the time. You also need to pack magneton or skarm will eat you alive moreso than the standard.

On the plus side, most people don't like forretress becasue it can't do enough damage and is walled by tons of **** so this does break that. =)

I still prefer and love armaldo over forretress any day.

Also, dunsparce don't think I'm not fun and creative. =)

And yet for some reason, Ninty gave it Base 90 Attack >.>;

Skarm isn't much of a problem in most in-game situations. But just in case I have my Modest HP Electric Ninetales with me. Octilelry can aslo help, with Suction Cups and Flamethrower.

Now I suppose you are gonna make a CBweezing set, a pokemon with decent attack but is used as a physical wall and a hazer? =)

I'm not offended. I can see from your point of view. Standards will alaways be thought of more highly than original sets.

I only try that with Pokemon that have deep hidden potential an untapped power within it.

But I guess I could give it a shot:

Weezing@Choice Band
Adamant
Shadow Ball
Explosion
Sludge Bomb
HP Fighting/Fire Blast

Using Weezing at all isn't my thing.

People Make Gligar a CBer, and it's Defense and Speed are higher than its Attack :/

I did that with shuckle, and it really wasn't bad at all!

^If you're talking to me, I didn't use CBShuckle, I made my own set.
Which I may as well start a thread like this one for too!
