Celebi - Voice Of The Forest!

40 Years in the past, a Young Pokémon Watcher called Yukinari comes across a Hunter trying to brutally capture a rare pokémon: Celebi. Celebi transports them 40 years ahead to the present where they meet Ash. A Team Rocket called Bishasu decides he wants to carry on the Hunter's legacy to capture Celebi. Can Ash protect Celebi?

Two obvious things to say about this movie

1.) If Prof Oak went to the Jhoto region often, how come those Pokemon wern't entered in the orginal poke-dex.

2.) Prof Oak used what was draw to be an old fashened poke-a-ball, however we have seen trainers much older than Prof Oak use the poke-a-ball's that Ash and the trainers of today use.

Yeah, that's confusing. Prof. Oak once said that he only knew about 151 pokemon (how did he know about Mewtwo???), but when he was young, he was only in Johto (which means that he should know about Johto pokemon). And besides, he remembered Celebi, didn't he (well, that might explain why he said 151). But anyways, I really like this movie, since it had the Iron Masked Marauder (my 2nd favorite one shot character, only beat by Samurai) in it. And what happened to Celebi when it was captured (hey, someone actually caught a legendary :p) was awesome. My 3rd favorite Pokemon movie so far.

I give Celebi- Voice of the Forest a 9.5.... out of 10

I think, its a the worst Movie from them all. Don`t be mad Serebii, I know, its about your favorite pokemon, but I just don`t like this plot. Everything we could see earlier:
- Evil guy wanna catch a legendary pokemon
- Friendship between Ash and little Oak (sweet like a pink candy)
- Ash saves legendary pokemon.
Easy. I still remember this dark Movie about Mewtwo or interesting Movie about Lugia.
This one is not a Movie for me, only just a bigger episode. Ok, I like this Forest and Celebi is nice, but plot is just bleh. Writers could write something more original.

I used to really hate this movie but now I kind of like it.

This movie moves at a much slower pace than the other Pokemon movies and doesn't have much action in it. However, it has a lot of sad moments which makes this movie memorable.

I loved Suicune's every appearance in this movie. I wished the focus of this movie was on Suicune and not Celebi. It would've been a much better movie and possibly one of my favourites, if that was the case.

It was sad when Celebi died at the end of the movie but I was happy it came back to life.

What I didn't like about this movie was:
-Too much Team Rocket
-Not many new Pokemon featured
-It moves too slowly

I give it 6 out of 10.

EXP:282

Is Back!!! For now.
i agree that it moves too slowly. like the others, it just went like that. Sort of into it.
I need to get the DVD because the video is a ripoff. There is no pikachu short on it.
I like the fact that they are showing all the special pokemon (like Mew, Celebi and Jirachi)
in movies. And with them are what i call, second rarest (in game wise you can them in the games without any events, like Mewtwo, Suicune and Groudon)
Otherwise, its wierd when someone is singing when Celebi is resurrected. I often have to turn the tv down otherwise some one will go: what the hell are you watching or my dad will start singing (trust me its embarrsing, he does it everywhere)
Overall, i liked it. Will get the DVD and watch it again.

I give it 7/10

Plotholes myeh.
Iv always thought that since the movies don't really tie directly to the series that this was...well...valid. n.n()
Heh, maybe the red monsterballs were a lot of money back then, and Yukinari was shocked to see Satoshi use one due to that! >:3 *pause* Okay... Just kidding. ._.()

There were so many reasons keeping me from believing that Yukinari was Ookido-hakase that I didn't even believe it at first. For starters, Yuki's eye's are blue, Ookido's are brown. Little things like this.

Eyes do change color over time. Everyone starts with Blue, but you just might end up getting a different color overtime. When your eye changes color might not be for years. :)

Anyways, if any Pokemon Movie has an evil villian in it, this is the one. :)

He was just plian EVIL. His plan to turn all Pokemon evil, and going as far as trying to kill someone to do it? If that doesn't say evil, I don't know what does. :)

The plot wasn't too good, and Celebi was okay. It was the villian that saved this movie in the end. :) They for once make a villian evil. All I said when I saw it was: "Well it's about time they did an evil villian!" :)

In the end. I give it 8/10. They could've done better, though. :)

I'm so glad I didn't see this movie - at least not the American version of it. It's bad enough 4Kids wants to change names and erase Japanese text, but when they actually pay the Japanese production studio to animate extra scenes for the American release, that's when I draw the line. I refuse to watch this movie if 4Kids feels compelled to spell out the underlying theme so blatantly that not even a three-year-old could miss it.

I just hated this movie...-.-
-boring storyline...I mean..the ending..argh..-.-
-2-dimensional vilian...he was just evil...nothing more...boooring...
-bad bad baaad battles...there weren t many and those which were in were boring..
-the whole celebi-like treemonster was an excuse for a dramatic methode to try to spice this movie up..
-suicunes part in it...what did it do?? water cleaner..weeehh..-.-
-oak and ash...they became really close...*cough*ashXoak shipping anyone?*cough*...but it seemed very acted...
-the new added scenes from the us...why did they cut tracey? why must they shove the solution with kiddy oak in everyone´s faces?? -.-
-celebi just annoyed me...it´s voice , it´s acting, it´s powers...
-team rockets small and useless part in it ( what if jessie weren t captures by the mauder?..Nothing?...yupp..)
-misty and brock were quite useless as well in this movie

overall the worst movie in my opinion..

Yes, but you're forgetting that the "trainers much older than Prof Oak" are still living in the 'present' time when the movie is set. Sammy's Pokéball is old-fashioned because it is/was modern in Sammy's own time, forty-odd years earlier...

i always thought Professer Oak was 60 years old because i was sure they said it was 50 years ago which would make him 10 at the time. he too old to be 50 anyway. That my opinion.

Out of curiosity, exactly which scenes were added to the US release?

According to Dogasu's website, 4Kids added:

- The scene where Professor Oak tells Ash and the others about Suicune, and how he actually saw it, but only once (1:00)
- The scene with Jessie, James, and Meowth arguing in the peach tree (which served no purpose to the plot or anything else whatsoever) (0:59)
- The end scene, where Oak gives his little friendship line and then reminisces while looking at his old sketchbook (2:27)

Now I see, almost everybody hates this movie.
One thing I like about it, its a friendship between Sammy and Ash. I mean, its sweet like a candy, but its quite funny; that old guy from a Pallet Town was a little and cute Sammy. But honestly, Ash should know, that Sammy and Prof Oak this is a one and this same person. They have a this same name, surname etc. Very weird.

Hey, Ash couldn't even put two and two together concerning Sabrina's father - and he had big glaring neon evidence there, too, even moreso than in this movie.

Boris Badenov said it before, and I'll say it again: "There is nobody stupider than the hero of a TV cartoon show."

Good one. But Misty and Brock could know it. I remember, Brock said only "Prof. Oak is so smart. He knows everything" LOL
