in this page on bulbapedia it shows a shiny charmander as the result of a charizard breeding with a dragonite with outrage. Is this acurate? if it is, this is an easy way to get a shiny charizard

There isn't anything that will increase the chance of getting a shiny from breeding.

Given that the website you cited is basically a Wikipedia for Pokemon, someone probably just decided to use a misleading example.

No I think they made it shiny so that it's easy to tell the difference between the original mother Charizard and the offspring with Outrage.

Test it out all you want. You cannot influence anything to get a shiny, unless you use a cheating device.

The chance of encountering a shiny in the wild is 1 in 8192. The chance of an egg being shiny is 1 in 8192.

In GSC you could influence it by breeding. Advance and beyond you can't.

Ask them. Probably to diferentiate them so you could tell them apart, not to mislead you to thinking that's how to get a shiny.
