Your sprites are very cut-and-pastish, which is to be expected from a beginning spriter. First of all, never save in .jpg; it discolors the image, and adds random splotches on it. Make sure to edit the shading and outlines so they look smooth and official, and aren't so choppy. Make sure to shade everything, without destroying shading on official sprites. (Get the dropper tool, right click over the color you want to color w/, then left click over the color you want to replace - then take the eraser tool, and it will only color that area.) This will make your recolors more smooth and natural.
I suggest you review the tutorials, because there's good stuff in them. Keep it up though, as long as you listen to advice, you'll definetly improve.
