Channel you watched Pokemon on

Digimon > Pokemon
Now obviously everybody watches it now on KidsWB, but I used to watch it on my local UPN station. I liked it a lot better on it. They were pretty far before KidsWB got it. I also watched Digimon season 4 on my UPN station, a few years after Pokemon though.

Pokemon was shown in syndication from its premiere until fall 1999, airing episodes from Pokemon, I Choose You! up through March of the Exeggcutor Squad. KidsWB acquired the rights to exclusively air Pokemon and they premiered the last few episodes of season one on Saturdays from February to May of 1999 (The Problem With Paras up through The Breeding Center Secret). While new episodes aired on Saturdays, repeats still aired on weekdays in syndication on affiliates such as UPN or Fox until the rights ran out in fall 1999. Then, in September 1999, since KidsWB was the sole holder to the rights, they expanded to showing episodes on both weekdays and on Saturdays.

I can say, however, that I agree with your assumption that you liked it better on UPN than on KidsWB. I have every episode shown in syndication on tape from 1998 and also every episode on tape from KidsWB (every episode...including old and new). I can honestly say that there is a certain magic to the episodes when I watch them from my UPN tapes as opposed to watching the same episodes from KidsWB. Maybe it's because Pokemon was so young back when on UPN. Nevertheless, I can't explain why this happens.

I still have a bunch of old tapes from when it was showing on Fox weekday mornings. Hard to believe that was seven years ago. :x

Wow, I thought I was the only one who taped the show back then! I first started watching when Pokemon, I Choose You! was repeated for the second run through the episodes on November 2, 1998. I guess it was just luck that it was the first episode. I starting taping the show with Challenge of the Samurai on November 5 and have taped every episode since then.

Almost 8 years later (Like Heracross said...I can't believe it was almost that long ago!!), I have over 100 6 hour VHS tapes with Pokemon episodes on them, from original airdates to repeats from UPN, KidsWB, and Cartoon Network. I really became obsessed with not just taping the episodes themselves but also the commercials and promos for them.

It's always been my dream to create a website for visitors to download old promos (not complete episodes) for the series. As you can imagine, there's a ton of them throughout my tape collection. They are just as memorable as the show itself.

Yeah because Australia gets it on Channel 10 on Toasted TV.:D
Get out! Cheez TV is the only one you should watch it on. But no, they had to kick Jade and Ryan off.[/rant]

I'm with the other Aussies, Ten. Seriously Ten. :p And 10 was good to watch it on and Pokémon's time slot was great because it overlaps the crap shows on ABC. :p

I used to watch it on KidsWB and YTV, but I watched it more on YTV than anything else.

Yeah I felt sorry for Jade and Ryan. You could tell near the end that they really wanted to keep their jobs since they were asking kids to send letters saying they are wanted.

Whoa I just realised how similar that situation was to the PUSA situation. Now that is scary.

I think Toasted TV is in Queensland anyway while before Cheez TV was in NSW.

I've always wanted to ask this but how many days a week did Kids WB show Pokemon?
I've always been curious.^-^

Us Australians are having Pokemon on 4 days a week right now.

Yeah Mew Mew Powers weird. Reminds me of sailor Moon for some reason.:p

Saturday's only. That's interesting. That means a whole week to wait for the next episode, I probably couldn't stand that though I wouldn't mind the noon part of it.=P

Getting up at 7:00 in the morning in Melbourne when it's freezing, 4 days a week is very difficult. Yet I still find myself doing it anyway. Stupid Winter Season. It's so cold.=(

Well, let me start by what I used to watch it on.

Season 1-7: Sky One

Season 8: Toonami, Cartoon Network and downloading due to Toonamis screw up

What I will later:

Season 9 if PUSA VAs are used: Already i'm watching Season 9 in Japanese thanks to these VAs so never will I watch it in English unless 4Kids VAs are used.

Season 9 if 4Kids VAs are used: Sky One if they get back to normal. I will download if Toonami and Cartoon Network would air it unless they decide to air around 1 or 2 per week unlike the 3-7 per week which makes the series either finish quickly or have stupidly long breaks.

I use to watch it on WCIU... (KidsWB was on WCIU back then.) They had it till like, the begining of Pokemon Advanced or something like that. Then it went to the WB channel so yeah... .-.
