Chansey

Well I've been trying to catch a Chansey for 5 days already and all those who have appeared, fled after the first Safari Ball. What Safari Zone area is Chansey located and most common in? Does anyone have a good strategy to capture Chansey?

Just keep trying really, it's all luck on catching one basically. This is what I do when I catch Chanseys and I worked twice. So after to throw the Safari Ball holding A+<- then when it moves, simultaneously swith the arrows between left and right while holding A. Hope this works as it worked for me, but keep in mind its no garuntee...

I had this same problem and came to Serebii Forums with this question like you. One piece of advice that helped me a lot was DO NOT EVER USE BAIT OR ROCKS!!! Just throw Safari Balls as many times as the Chansey allows you. Trust me, it works after a while. I know own three Chansey. On my third, I got Lucky Egg! I also saw a shiny Rhyhorn in Safari Zone... which really scared me since there was a very small chance I would catch it... but I luckily did on my first Safari Ball. Now it's a shiny rhydon. Hmm... well, I went off topic, sorry about that. Anyway, I don't know how to explain areas in Safari Zone or I would tell you which area I encountered Chansey the most.

Eh, ive had more trouble with Kangaskhan than Chansey. Not too sure why. Though ive had the worse time with Scyther(i own fire red). Like everyone says, just keep trying. Battle some trainers for money if you need to keep going.

note: ive once used an instant catch cheat. Makes it a whole lot easier to catch em' but still doesnt always work.

I think Chansey is in Zone 4 and another place. The area goes sorta like;

The x's are the grass. o's are the normal land. R's are land you can't walk on.
Chansey is in the grass.

Just keep throwing safari balls, that's your best bet. I guess it's called "Chansey" for good reason...

If it goes out the first time and doesn't fled, you can probably catch it on the next turn. Never throw anything but a ball.

ya its easier catching them now than in red/blue because the safari balls could bounce off chansey

And don't forget to turn on the spot instead of actually walking around. That way you still meet pokemon but don't have to worry about running out of steps.

Actually Area 2 is the place with the highest chance of finding Chansey. It's not hard compared with Tauros.

I would have to agree its mostly luck, i caught mine on the first ball my first time around, but ive had constant trouble with tauros and kangkhaskan, those two i havnt even ran into yet, but im still trying.

Just keep trying and throw them safari balls.

It takes time and patience to catch a Chansey. I do believe in the earlier versions, a description read, "Catching one is all up to luck". Patience is a virtue my friend.

Just keep trying, it's in the centre zone and area 1 or 2. And it's right, you should only use balls, maybe some baits, but never throw rocks.

Chansey=Chance
Catch one, then it's easier to breed. So just focus on finding it.

I read that in some areas it's 1% while others are 4%. I KNOW that area 2 is 4% (the third area)
