Definitely like that this time there is none of the version-exclusive silliness that was present in Gen 7, albeit being easier to obtain the uniforms corresponding to the types of the Gym Leaders that you face in your version (i.e: you get them for free). Shame from the looks of things the male character got shafted once again.

Once I got the Fire themed outfit, I didn't care for anymore customization lol

I really like being able to choose both a sweater/jacket and shirt this time it makes for some great combinations. Also being able to remove the sweater/jacket and just have a shirt is nice as well.

i just saw the options that are available in gen8, pretty nice but useless to me unfortunately. i cant justify buying a switch and getting the new games...

Sadly, until Serebii allows me to post images directly from my device rather than from an image-hosting site, I can't really post because I currently only use a mobile phone. I do however upload all my outfit pics and League cards onto my Twitter account.

Currently curious to know which of the type uniforms are people's favourites. My current ones are Electric and Poison though things may change once I get a better look of the other ones you earn throughout the game.

I was really happy with the male customization. Maybe because I have a fairly simple taste in clothing. I mean sure a few more hairstyles and clothing options would have been awesome. But at least what we got was good. I wish the biker jacket would have been available earlier, but aside from that all was good.

However I have now started a second playthrough (on a secondary user account on my Switch) with a female PC to test out the female options and....gotta say I'm kinda surprised and disappointed how much of the clothing is shared between the male and female PC. With the male character I had changed pretty much everything to something I liked more (hair and all the clothes except shoes) by Motostoke. With the female character all I did was change the hair, the socks and lose the beret+sweater. Not because I like that aggressively pink dress so much, but because I couldn't really find anything else I liked.
Witht he way people were talking about the female PC having so many more options I expected....more.

Clothing options are pretty neat. I think I've got a dashing looking avatar now on the Endgame. Only downside: the bloody suitcase on my back! I really wished there was more variety in this. Like a normal backpack or some kind of messenger bag like gen 6. One I find out how to import images from my switch to my PC, I might change my Avatar.

Lol, will this be like the no hat option that was present in XY? I'm not joining gen8 but I do agree that lugging around the ugly box is far from ideal. Though i do understand why they chose that box. Lugging around all those items in a hand bag or backpack was unlikely even if both option had an endless capacity spell cast on them.

Ah, I didn't really mind the no hat option in XY. I was actually more bummed that I could not wear a hat when you have braids on the male on Sun and Moon. Don't know if it's possible on SwSh though. Might test that later

I'm refraining from customizing my MCs until I get access to more clothes and hairstyles. I'm actually grateful in the shared articles of clothing between genders because I've always wanted my female MC to wear men's attire.

You don't get any more hairstyles than the one in the first town. That's all. Whether you use the male or the female PC.
And I'm not completely against clothing options being shared, I actually like it that way. Just from the way people talked about the OMG!Amazing! array of options the female PC supposedly has over the male one I expected more, when all the female exclusive items are really just skirts, dresses (and not that many either...), high socks and tights.

I wouldn't say I didn't hate the no hat option but I would have like to be able to remove the hat back in XY.
