Welcome to the character relationships face-off! In this face-off pairs of fictional characters will compete to determine which pair has the greatest dynamic. Relationships include friends, partners, couples, rivals, family, nemeses, comrades etc... Each member may make up to 4 nominations. Clearly indicate the piece of media the characters are from along with a 1 word description of a major aspect of their relationship (if you’re not sure what that word should be, message me about it). Note that the same character may be listed multiple times for example the following nomination list:

The format will be a standard 5 round single elimination tournament. Here are the brackets:

The point threshold in each match will be 32 with a deuce rule in effect. Cooldown will be 2 hours. My intention is to try to mitigate timezones skewing the results as much as possible. On that note it’s fine to start the next match without me assuming we’re still in the same round. Please let me know if there’s anything you would like clarified. A part of me is tempted to do write-ups for the characters and their relationships like how shoz does for his face-offs...partly because it'd be fun for me and partly so that anyone who doesn't know about them can still join in based on their descriptions

@TheCharredDragon go for it. Just keep it to under 100 words. In general I’d recommend everyone do a basic google search for characters they don’t know, so they have at least a slight idea of the relationships competing in a given match.

Yes! Here's the first one. now to spoil myself for the ones i don't know about...

• Tom & Jerry (Tom & Jerry; Nemeses): The titular characters of the Tom & Jerry Show, Tom is a cat and Jerry is a mouse that lives in his house. They are the embodiment of the "cat and mouse game", their lives involving ever increasingly ridiculous and/or complicated antics in their attempts to try and outwit each other, though mostly Jerry stopping Tom from eating him. On occasion they team up to face a greater threat, but never for long and they're back to the same old song and dance.
• Yu & Yosuke (Persona 4; Friends): The leader and second-in-command of the Investigation Team respectively, the two were the first to get their Personas, with Yosuke being the first to face his Shadow, the part of himself that he denied. They became close after that, promising to find the culprit behind the murders in Inaba. Despite Yu being calm and diligent and Yosuke lax and immature, they both have sharp minds that eventually lead them and their friends to the truth, and finding lifelong friends with the team and each other.
