Choice

In the previous Pokemon games, I've often felt like a delivery boy, performing pointless errands. My point is, would you want more choice in the next games?

I mean stuff like, being able to become a Gym Leader, or do optional side-quests for a bit of cash. I was also toying with the idea of a bank, where you can store your money and gain interest off of it. Being able to do exactly what you want would be nice as well, like focusing on contests specifically, instead of being forced to become a Pokemon Master, and the like.

We've beaten this point countless times on this board.

Not only would this be too great a regression from tradition, but also would be entirely unnecessary. Being a Gym leader would force you to stay within your assigned Gym, essentially killing the freedom that you have to explore the region, and needing to "focus on contests" can be handled by the current system. Moreover, battling other trainers and bettering yourself in that regard will always remain a staple of the franchise, as will the entire battle system.

It's safe to say that this matter of redundancy and unnecessity will not be implemented.
