I prefer sequels.Remakes are just the same their predecessors except for the graphics and new characters and items.Sequels would be great with new storyline and more challenging.I want to see a sequel of RSE.

Just a reminder to not actually discuss remakes that haven't yet happened (e.g. 'I want RSE remakes to have ___' or whatnot), given it's a rule.

I don't have too strong a preference myself, but it would be probably towards sequels for the sake of getting something different out of the game with plot, etc.

Remakes. Some games need obvious improvements, e.g I find it hard to play through the 3rd gen games after being used to the physical special split, and the 3rd gen games do need that. Plus it's really fun to play through the region again especially when everything has been improved and new features, items, pokemon and story tangents have been added.

HGSS only filled up half the cartridge contrary to popular belief. Anyways, an D2P2 would be neat.

Plus can't the 3DS (which it would most likely be for) hold up to 2 gb?

I see Hoenn being the final remakes. I think after that they won't do anymore since DP began the 3D era of the series. So most likely every game prior to gen 4 will be remade. Besides didn't Masauda kinda confirm it was an idea about a week or so prior to the BW 2 announcement? Not confirm as in say its being done but say something like These games mean a lot to me and I want to make the remakes good?

But yeah,DP sequals would work as for Hoenn idk. Those games can stand alone tbh. I'd like to see Mars remake Galactic to try and get Cyrus back but fails doing so.

In the future would you guys rather see more remakes or sequels of Pokemon games? Honestly I'd rather see sequels.. I'd take Ruby Version 2 and Sapphire Version 2 over a remake any day.

Honestly there isn't any different between sequels or remake both add new things that wasn't in the original.

Plus the chances of Game Freak doing Ruby Version 2 and Sapphire Version 2 is really low.

but I don't think we need Ruby/Sapphire remakes just yet. After all, they're still playable on the DS Lite.

Doesn't matter if Nintendo/Game Freak want to do a Hoenn remake then they will.

As a matter of fact, last year, Pokemon Emerald was still selling in Japan, and pretty well, too.

Do you have any evidence to support that theory or are you just making it up?

What I do think we need is a Pokemon "Sunshine Yellow" remake of Pokemon Yellow for the DS. Now that would be epic.

Four reason why a Yellow remake won't happen.

1. The DS line is dead.
2. Go and play Fire Red/Leaf Green because it the same game.
3. Or play Heart Gold/Soul Sliver since that has the pokémon following you.
4. It was a one off game that was loosely based on the Animé

And a pokemon mmorpg. the day a pokemon mmorpg comes out every other mmorpg wou'd die, including wow.

No just no.

I would rather that pokémon stays far away from mmorpg, it doesn't need it and won't add anything to the franchise

B2W2 disagrees. If they plan to release something new for generation V, be it remakes, sequels, whatever, it will be for the same console as the other 2 (4) Generation V games.
3DS will receive Pokémon games when Generation V meets its end, which considering the other generations, will probably be at 2014.

Here I agree wholeheartedly.

Uhhh no....

BW2 were most likely made alongside BW 1 just released later for marketing reasons. The DS is pretty much dead with the last games being any good DS 2 by Atlus and Pokemon BW2. Hence the reason both the Wii U and 3DS were the only things featured at E3 confirming the only games coming out for the last gen are movie title based games and random sport stuff. 2012 is the final year for the DS. Just like how 2005 and 06 were the final years for the GBA.

Could you show some evidence to support this statement please?

Also I'd prefer sequels. Seeing a legitmate sequel to RBY or GSC would just make my day.

Anyone with half a brain can tell this is the way it will go. Its pretty obvious if you know market strategy mixed with the current planning they they are going for via Nintendo. Both Wii and DS sales have decreased while 3DS has increased. They won't make a new game from scratch for a system that is outdated. Take Persona 4 Golden for example. It was going to be for the PSP meaning all 4 games would of been made for the PSP. However the game would of had to be downgraded like P3P so instead they put the game on the Vita which is a more powerful system giving the game more abilities. Also going by the fact all games for DS from here on are shovelware its pretty obvious that the next game would be for 3DS

I feel so hopeless. The only shiny pokemon I caught was Red Gyarados in Pokemon Heart Gold and Gold/Silver/Crystal. Haha maybe my luck will change in Black 2 and White 2.. (At least I hope it will hahaha ^^)

Tavo_Zx

The Iron Man
Shiny Audino on Black or probably my shiny Numel on Emerald. Both were random encounters, and when I saw them all I could think of was "**** Yeah!"

Megh

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I've got a Pokemon handbook, and it has a bunch of epic errors.

Apparently...

Tyrogue evolves into Hitmonlee, which THEN evolves into Himonchan or Hitmontop.
Donphan is the Armor Bird Pokemon.
Azelf is the Stone Pokemon.

Haha, that's how I felt reading this thread. I mean after Gyarados, the only other shinies that I have are a Lotad, Machop and the Legendary Beasts from a Gamestop Event.

Torosiken

This is a title.
Feebas (now is a Milotic) *shot*

Am I the only person unlucky with shiny? XD
My only shinies are from GSC, when shiny rates are still high enough and GSC can't go to GTS. XDDD

same here TwT my only 4th gen shiny is that XDDD
(and I don't have a real DS so I can't get the events too ahahaha, But one day when I have it I'll transfer my safe file from my emulator so I can go wi-fi =w=)
I am hoping the same too ;w;
good luck for both of us who have no-shinies! XDDD

Neither.
I would prefer a brand new game, brand new mechanics, brand new region, brand new pokemon, on 3DS.

That only really works once per generation, when you have new Pokemon and such to show off. You need something to fill the gap.

I'd only want remakes if there's a significant graphical upgrade, like the change between gens 1/2 and gen 3. Otherwise, new content is amazing.

Exactly the reason I believe that if RS remakes happen, they will not be 5th gen. There's not enough difference between 3rd and 5th gen IMO (thanks to 5th gen being too similar to 4th gen).

I like sequels, however is a sequel was made to, say, RSE, many new Pokemon players wouldn't have played RSE before. There should be a recent version of the game before a sequel is made.

Thank you, this is exactly the point I was trying to make. Why would someone jump in and buy RS2 if they haven't played RS1?

Sequels. I didn't like any of the remakes, to be honest and B2W2 are easily the best Pokémon games up to date :')

Well "best" is subjective, but they are a major improvement over BW1. There's a bunch of little things from Platinum and HGSS that BW1 removed that would've pushed it over the top IMO.

You're not considering one crucial factor, though: compatability. 3DS Pokemon games could bring a lot of changes to the gameplay depending on how they implement it. So if they make a 3DS Pokemon game, they might have to reduce compatability with BW. It's just a lot cleaner to stick with one handheld in one generation. Not that it matters at this point anyway, 5th gen is probably almost over anyway, and I can see BW2 being the last main 5th gen games before 6th gen starts up, which is likely 2014, maybe 2013 if we're really lucky. Besides, 5th gen is kind of lacking in good spinoffs, so I think it would be best to spend next year making more 5th gen spinoffs (we desperately need 5th gen Mystery Dungeon, and a Colosseum/XD type game would be nice) then start back up with an entirely new game with new Pokemon and a new region for the 3DS to kick off 6th gen, and then look into sequels/remakes right around then. It's probably best we hold off on remakes and/or sequels for now, not while we're still in 5th gen and caught in an awkward limbo between handhelds.

The DS is receiving one big name title this year while the 3DS is receiving dozens. Just because theres one game thats coming otu on the DS that matters doesn't mean its not dead.

I prefer sequels though I did like LeafGreen. I would prefer Sequels which made the change the plot but keep similarities in people or enemies.
