We are supposed to be trainers! We are supposed to love our Pokemon! Why is everyone so cruel and heartless to call their partners and friends HM slaves?!

For the love of Pokemon I propose we change it to ''HM Specialist''.

Mmkay, you do that.

I'll call it what I like, regardless of one person's views.

Because, nowadays people think it's cool to use words such as rape, slave, murder for comedic purposes. I don't use HM only Pokemon, I don't need all 4 move slots filled with moves to finish the story-line anyway.

These "partners and friends" are nothing more than data.

I know that may come as a shock, hell I even started missing my Leavanny when I swapped it for Deerling.

But you need know that at the end of the days that HM slaves and pokémon are nothing more than data.

Slaves are way easier to say than specialists. Also, you do treat them more like slaves than friends

With advances in 6 year old gameboyedecine, we are or at least were able to very easily clone Pokemon that are not anything Turtwig and above making only Pokemon from Sinnoh and beyond eligible to be called Specialists.

I think OP is on to something..

Whether Pokemon are like your bro's 4 life or not, using a term like "Slave" so commonly in a kid's game is kinda creepy imo...

But y'know, to each his own and all that..I guess.

LOL? you are aware they are data right? and it is not like putting to fight till they faint is something better than being a HM slave at least they are saved from battle.
bibrael is the best HM slave he was made to do this lol

To be honest, I don't care. Pokemon are in the game, not in real life.

Non-believers! ...but seriously, you can come up with better things than this.

I'd just rather call them specialists than slaves. Whether they're real or not, slaves seems a bit... mean.

Um, you can call them whatever you want. THEY'RE JUST DATA.

Nothing more, they're not flesh and blood, if you had, A:save your best friend's life, or B: Ditch your friend and keep insiting that pokemon are flesh and blood. Which would you pick?

Okay, I've just had a facepalm moment. And I mean, a few minutes ago.

I was going through an old Gale of Darkness file, getting ready to erase it so I can go on a Duskull hunt. I was just rummaging for a few odd pokemon that looked like they might be useful as breeders down the road. As I'm looking, I see a yellow Growlithe. And I get all excited because I LOVE shiny Arcanine and I've always wanted to see a shiny pokemon in 3D (cuz I'm a silly nerd like that). Then I look on my "permanent" file of Gale of Darkness to confirm that this is, in fact, the alternate colouration, because I know that there were some colouring mistakes in the game

and...

It's the regular colouration. Normal growlithe all look yellow, the shiny ones just have a little extra yellow added to the muzzle. To whoever did the colours for the pokemon in this game, I suggest they be tested for colourblindness, or else not work when overtired. And also, I'd like to palm their face. Hard.

Fail.

Oh boo hoo its mean :( They would be specialists if they specialized in being slaves, but since that's the only thing they can do, I call them slaves. It's like calling a guitar a guitar, not a noise specialist.

Then I suppose they should expect the same from you, hmmmmmm?

But really, the term 'specialist' seems a little... idealist. The way I see it, "specialist" refers to someone with a unique trait. But since almost every pokemon can learn multiple HM's, it's not so 'special.'

But really, it all boils down to opinion. It's cute how you let your morals and ethics get the better of you It's nice that you think that, but don't force it upon others.

And pixels data blah blah blah

What are some of your fail in-game moments that made you facepalm?

I used my Masterball by accident while trying to catch a Frillish and I had to replay over two hours of gameplay DX

I hatched a few Eevee eggs and while I was selling a few items, I thought about evolving Eevee with a Moonstone. I completely forgot that I was in the sell menu and ended up selling my Moonstone XD.

Double fail, Moon-Stone on an Eevee, silly.
