Hi peeps here is something ive been wondering about for a while
why does each game have a differenty feature
here is some e.g
B/W: CGear
HG/SS:walking with your pokemon/pokegear
D/P/Pokemon walking station thingamajjiga
also what do you think they will put in the future games?
heres the place to share your ideas!

That feature really helped fix the disconnect between the battles and the overworld. I didn't see a single pokemon outside of battle in B/W, except a legend or two. That was probably the game's biggest weakness.

Either

1.) They wanted it to be Johto exclusive

2.) The games could not store all the data for walking sprites

3.) They were saving it for 3rd installements

4.) Maybe all of the above

I agree, the games need something to make them unqiue. In yellow/hg and ss it is walking with pokemon.

I think they stopped it rather than going back to the ways of HG\SS is because it was odd to have Pokemon like Wailord, Steelix, most other big Pokemon, and most of the Legendarys follow you without either destruction in its wake and\or people mentioning it. My bet is once they make it so only the normal sized (i.e. not the size of a house) Pokemon follow you they will bring it back.

I don't think Nintendo will restrict the walking feature to small Pokemon. It's either they have them all or no walking feature.

This is to give variety to the Pokemon games, OP. I wouldn't be so happy if every game after B/W (or a remake, for that matter) was like HG/SS with the Pokemon-walking feature.
