First of all its MERRY CHRISTMAS not Happy Christmas! On topic Darumaka has a rather gross pokedex entry... ( I would NEVER put droppings in my pockets to keep warm ) As for Yamask it apparently was Human at one time but passed away with a mask as its only tangible memory of its human life.

My Idea for a Pokemon Game

I was inspired by a thread about terrains you'd like to see in a game. I have software (GBA and DS) that allow me to actually make a Pokemon game, so I'm going to outline one now.

Please give me feedback! I want to hear all of your opinions, criticisms, if I'm going overboard, if it's creative..whatever you have to say, I want to hear. And suggestions, please! What should my towns, region, badges and leaders be named? Should I create my own Pokemon?

If I get enough feedback, this may very well become the next fan-made Pokemon game for all of you to play.

Background:

-Aesthetically, this game would be remeniscent of Johto and Hoenn. Leveling up will be very easy, and the Champion will use level 100s. There will be a wide variety of pokemon from the very start, as well as many gift pokemon. All 15 starters will be available as prizes at the game corner, which will be in the Battle Frontier. You will notice that the trainers I mention will tend to use evolved Pokemon early on, but of course not every trainer will. In the same token, I will occasionally list wild pokemon, but not for every route, so don't assume that the only available pokes are those listed. Also, your pokemon will follow you around like in Yellow/HGSS. I'm attempting to fit as many special and legendary pokemon as I can into this game, but understand that this will not be easy, and will provide incredible depth, and a long, rich to-do list after the Elite 4.

Your character will age throughout the story, with your sprite aging, and possibly even slight customizations. You would have a closet in your bedroom, camping equipment, and after a certain point in the game, you will actually be able to buy one of several homes, which are customized like a secret base or DW home, as well as a vacation house...maybe even a car!

So let's get started:

The game starts in a small, rural town. The main attraction of your town is a farm which serves as this game's daycare. I want there to be a very quaint, American country-side vibe, and it's implied that the townsfolk are all very social with each other. Your father is this game's professor.

It's your birthday, and rather than going through the traditional being thrown into the midst, all of the things you aquire to start your game are gifts from your neighbors, who each build to the story, saying things like "Are you excited to begin your adventure tomorrow morning?", while they give you your Running Shoes, poke-balls and potions, all that good stuff. Your father gives you a Pokedex, your mother buys you some clothes (which go to your closet). Your wily old grandma who never knows what to get you gives you a card with your money to start the game. The owner of the Day-Care ranch offers you your starter.

Starter Pokemon: Charmander, Totodile and Treecko

It's nighttime and you're on a swinging bench on your porch with your rival who you've known all your life. They are of the opposite gender and it is heavily implied that he/she will become your love interest. You have the iconic first battle, and she gives you two gifts: a Comet Shard and a kiss =b.

You head out the next morning for a town on the other side of a small mountain range (not like a Mt. Coronet). There will be plenty of optional areas around here, with many more pokemon, but for now, you travel a linear path through a miniature valley with a small river.

Pokemon currently available: Ekans, Ponyta, Spearow, Poliwag, Bellsprout, Mankey

You reach an inn (like a Bed and Breakfast) which you find out is actually a registered gym!

Gym #1 - Ground Type -
Sandshrew, Diglett, Phanphy and Marowak

You continue through the valley and eventually reach the second town. Although another rural area, it is a bustling marketplace where you can buy Moomoo Milk and Lava Cookies. You find yourself battling a girl who uses Cinccino and Furret. After winning, a guy looking about 18 appears, who turns out to be her older brother, and challenges you to a battle using Lickitung and Granbull. He escorts you to a mansion, the home of his grandparents, and your next gym.

Gym #2 - Normal Type -
Tauros and Miltank
Bouffalant and Kanghaskan
(this is a double battle with your Rival as your partner)

The couple reward you with an Eevee

You travel through a desert, encountering pokemon like Drifloon, Sandile, Sanshrew, Trapinch, Cacnea, Baltoy and Rattata. There will be a rock structure that it appears you can't enter, which will later be the home of Regirock. You arrive in a ghost town with absolutely nothing to do at the moment, except explore abandoned old buildings where you will find some items. Things will start to get spooky There are Rattata, Poochyena and Litwick in a few buildings. You are greeted by a sheriff who is very rude with you, foreshadowing later events in the game, and who seems to disappear as he walks away.

The only building with people there will be a saloon, where the barkeep will ask if you'd like to rest. You wake up at night to some creepy sound, and go to the master bedroom, but the barkeep is nowhere to be found. You will walk downstairs, and as you walk toward the bar, you hear footsteps on the stairs, but you're alone in this building. A few weird things happen...when you examine a painting on the wall of the man you met, you notice that it looks very old. You next examine some papers which are dated to the turn of the 20th century. It occurs to you that the man is a ghost. The swinging doors begin swinging on their own, more things happen and a text on your screen reads "It appears you've made someone very angry. Let's get out of here!"

You head out in the middle of the night, running like Hell into a forest. This is not just any forest...its a Sleepy Hollow/Donkey Kong Country 2-esque haunted forest. There is a sign that reads "The Dark Hollow". There's a lot dead trees toppled over, spider webs, and the music will feature random shrieks and ghost sounds. This area will be very dark, just barely visible, but the screen will be brighter if you have a fire-type in front. If it is Litwick, it will seem strangely playful and cause a lot of mischief. This area will be like an illusion forest, a maze-like place where you seem to go around in circles. Wild pokemon here include Spinarak, Murkrow, Ghastly, Stunky and Hoothoot. You find a haunted mansion in the vain of the Old Chateau, and after more spooky stuff, partake in what ends up being your third gym battle.

Gym #3 - Ghost type -
Haunter, Banette, and Spiritomb

After the battle some REALLY spooky stuff happens and you head out a hidden back door, into a graveyard. Here you will find Shuppet, Misdreavus, Yamask and Duskull. There is also an old well which you can return to with flash and strength, where you will find Golett, Elgyem, and a Spiritomb.

As you are about to exit the forest, a Zorua will mysteriously appear, which has actually been the source of much of the trouble you've had in the forest. It's just been lonely and wanted someone to play with. Zorua will follow you into the next town. If there's no room on your party, it will walk with you until you get to the town's pokemon center, and if it was in your party, at this time it will come out from it's pokeball. Zorua will do something weird and that's when you notice that you have a new badge.

This town is very nice. The buildings are all stone, there are a lot of people, a firehouse and police station. For now, there isn't much to do here, but after you beat the game, you can return here and find the biggest dungeon in the game. The main attraction here is a massive church. This will be your next gym.

Gym #4 - Psychic Type -
Xatu, Exeggutor, Gardevoir and Bronzong

You will later find the dungeon to be much different than your typical final dungeon. It is a massive temple built into the Earth which transitions back and forth between natural and man-mades structures. This is where you will find Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza. As you try to leave town you are confronted by a few crooked cops who challenge you to a battle. You battle a captain using a Sneasel, Houndoor, Poochyena and Murkrow. It is now appearent who the evil team is in my game =b...

There's a short route to the next town, a beautiful lake-side area with a meadow and hillside, offering pokemon like Roselia, Psyduck, Marrill and Hoppip. You follow the hillside up to a town where the people are rich in culture and tradition (think Lavaridge meets Celestic, but also with a lot of unique characteristics). Your rival/love interest appears here and you battle. She escorts you to an archeological dig site with a Sinnoh Underground-esque mini-game. The site is abundant in nuggets, rare bones, star pieces and is also where you will find all of your fossils. The people talk about a rite of passage up the mountain where there is an active volcano, to an ancient temple. You are accompanied by a middle-aged man who seems very respected by the local villagers. You have standard double battles for the whole journery in which your pokemon are healed after every battle. As you climb the mountain, you encounter Larvitar, Magmar, Nosepass, Machop, Lunatone and Solrock, Onix, Slugma, etc. At the top, the two of you explore the temple, filled with the likes of Zubat, Clefairy, Druddigon, Deino and Bagon. You will need to battle a Snorlax (which he will awaken for you) in order to enter. This maze-like temple will be where you catch Jirachi after the Elite 4, and the mountainside will be the roost of Moltres and Heatran. You will end up on the roof, overlooking the entire region, where he will reveal himself as a gym leader.

Gym #5 - Dragon type -
Salamence, Haxorus, Hydreigon and Dragonite

Although only your fifth gym, this will probably be your toughest challenge. After the battle, he will say he has a gift for you, and you will warp back to the village. He offers you an egg which will later hatch into Togepi.

You now go through a large, jungle-like habitat filled with grass, poison and bug pokemon. As you near the exit, you will end up in a meadow with a shrine (a Celebi shrine...later, you will catch Celebi and when brought to a certain place in the jungle, Celebi will warp you to what appears like a different but similar place, where Mew resides), which will continue down a knoll to a beach with docks, sailboats, small houses and a sea that shimmers and sparkles. As you overlook the sea, two beams of Blue and Red light flash through the air...Lati@s are now roaming the world. You will surf to an island paradise. The sea and island will have an abundance of exotic pokemon, including Buizel, Cloyster, Sudowoodo and Bellossom. There will be a shop here that sells nothing but Kurt's special pokeballs. You will also find a rock remeniscent of the one that leads you to Shaymin's Flower Paradise in Sinnoh. From here, you will travel into a grassy plain which quickly becomes a tundra where you can find cubchoo, swinub and a bunch of other pokemon...This is the first ever tundra in a Pokemon game! At the end, you will find an icy cave. This cave will later be home to Regice and Articuno, and eventually, even Kyurem. For now, you are here on a quest to find and capture a Lapras. After you do this, the gym at the base of the mountain-like cave will be open.

Gym #6 - Ice Type -
Cryoganal, Jynx, Beartic, Weavile and Mamoswine

This island has several docks, which will eventually take you to places like Navel Rock, Liberty, New and Full Moon Islands and where you will end up finding a Manaphy Egg. This island is where your beach home will be. The only active boat here will take you to an industrial port town and it is here that your storyline with the dirty cops climaxes. After all the warehouse and secret hideout BS, you learn that the gym is actually none other than the Police Station. The police captain and evil boss will now battle you for your seventh badge.

Gym #7 - Poison -
Skuntank, Crobat, Drapion and Scolipede

Although his gym will feature primarily Fire and Dark types, as well as poison, in this battle, he will use a strictly Poison team. Unlike Giovanni, however, you have not seen the last of this cop. By the way, yes, he's a fat, donut-lover.

On to the next town! This route is longgg. There are traintracks in the background and a highway in the foreground, which will have cars and trains respectively.

There will actually be trains and cars across a lot of the land, particularly in the cities that are not being covered in this long novel I've ended up writing, and especially in the post-Elites places. You will travel on a train from the last city I covered, in what will be this game's equivalent to the S.S. Anne, battling trainers on your way to a new part of the region with many bustling cities, one of which will be my Tokyo-esque Battle Frontier. Once here, you will be able to buy your car and drive from town to town.

So anyway, you're on this long route along a highway...You have the option of a long walk through tall grass, or a long bike ride on the sidewalk where there will be an onslaught of high-level trainers waiting for you. This is essentially my victory road. There is a gatehouse at the end, where you will be able to rest up. Then you will continue on to Cycling Road, which will be relatively short, and end up in the last major city of the game, and the biggest.

If you got your 7th badge in LA, this is prettymuch New York City. The Department Store is here, but will be a huge shopping mall. There is a factory which will be home to many Electric and Steel types, including Zapdos and Registeel. This place is like the nation's capitol...you will even be able to visit something along the lines of the White House. You are asked by Secret Service if you know anything about corruption in the police force, and asked to go check out the Space Center. After doing so, you will run into your little girlfriend. By now, you're like 18, so when you two decide you're going to go to the Soace Center, yeah, it's a date. And the Space Center is also....your final gym! Whataya know?! As you go to walk in, she challenges you to a battle, and this will be the team (s)he has for the rest of the game:

Togekiss, Zoroark, Floatzel, Ninetails, Roselia, Meloetta

Gym #8 - Steel Type -
Skarmory, Scizor, Klingklang, Bisharp, Heatran, Metagross

After beating him, it really hits the fan. He begins talking to you about going up into space, to the Moon, which has recently been colonized, when all of the sudden, a satellite transmition radios in and cuts him off. Fatty comes up on the screen, laughs meniacly as asteroids explode in the background. The camera pans to his secret weapon...a Deoxys

So off to the moon you go!

THE ELITE FOUR! -

-The Elite 4 use Grass, Fire, Water, and Electric type pokemon, respectively.

Round 1 - Meganium, Venusaur, Torterra, Ferrothorn, Jumpluff
Round 2 - Typhlosion, Blaziken, Infernape, Arcanine, Chandelure
Round 3 - Blastoise, Swampert, Empoleon, Gyarados, Milotic
Round 4 - Luxray, Electivire, Magnezone, Eelektross, Raichu

After you win, explosions hit the Space Colony, and a SWAT team storms the building, holding the beaten Elite 4 at their mercy while their master enters and slowly approaches you. After some talking, it's revealed that he's a former Rocket Executive, that his entire "personal squad" had been with him all along, and that it was time for Team Rocket to finally realize their dream.

THE FINAL BATTLE! -
--Deoxys, Scolipede, Houndoom, Honchkrow, Krookodile, Tyranitar--

You are rewarded by many people. The Scientists give you Porygon, Kecleon and a Castform. THE PRESIDENT GIVES YOU THREE MASTER BALLS. At home, you propose to your girlfriend(or get proposed to). Just as she says yes, you get a call from mom...At your parents house, your dad gives you a few items he's never shown anyone, from his days as a pokemon trainer; a book of the Mew/two transcripts from Cinnibar Mansion and a centuries-old scroll with a certain flute. He tells you about when he was a young trainer, how some people thought he was the best to ever live, and tells you to go back to the moon and capture Deoxys. He tells you that a friend will find you along the way and help you. Your family comes together in an embrace, and as you stand next to your dad, a Pikachu runs up with a red hat in it's mouth, jumps on your shoulder, and puts the hat on your head.

THAT'S RIGHT! YOUR DAD IS POKEMON TRAINER RED!
ROLL CREDITS!

After the Elites:
-The Legendary Dog, Muskateer and Djinn trios roam specific parts of the region.
-On the Moon, you can battle Deoxys. If you have a spare slot, Mewtwo will appear and join in the battle for you. In the cutscene for the battle, you see a strange triangle glowing. You can also re-battle the Elites (and all the gym leaders). Mewtwo then leads you to a lab to capture Genesect.
-All of your legendary side-quests open.
-You can explore several new cities including:
*Two new temples, one for Regigigas and one for Arceus.
*The Battle Frontier
*A similar new place where you battle themed teams, basically like 4 people that are like another Elite 4/Gym Leaders in doubles, which have like 5 paired teams of increasing difficulty. After 5 they use a legendary team.
-One uses ancients, another uses dragons, etc-
(fossils- Kanto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, then Aerodactyl/Lapras, bonus:Groudon and Kyogre)
(dragons-Flygon/Kingdra, Salamence/Hydreigon, Lati@s, Garchomp/Haxorus, Dragonite/Charizard, bonus:Reshiram and Zekrom)

Wow, i was truly stunned when i skimmed through this, I think the addition of a Bad Guy team would be one of the essentials to complete this.

Sounds pretty good. :) The only thing is that, wouldn't a steel team as the last gym be a bit too easy, considering it has three weaknesses normally used in a team by then?

I'm very impressed by your idea. I'll like to play it after it's done. Although I could only play it if you make it in GBA mode :p

The aging part, the rival is your love interest part, and the part where we can buy house and car are awesome too!

Question: you said about cycling road... Does that mean we're going to get a free bicycle? Where/when can we get it?

Plus, I would like to have Yellow(Pokemon Special) as my mother :D

First of all its MERRY CHRISTMAS not Happy Christmas!

It's "Happy Christmas" in Britain, actually.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure your Darumaka wouldn't fit in a pocket, unless you put it in it's Pokeball, in which case you wouldn't be able to benefit from its warmth anyway.

What a terrible idea for a Pokémon game that you have made up. There nothing what make pokémon pokémon in their at all.

Here what you should do drop the pokémon bit and just make your own unique RPG because you do have some good idea for a rpg game just not for a Pokémon game.

Edit:I went back and had another look at the gym leader list and you have some very broken gym leaders there which make it impossible to finish the game.

with so much spamming of fire/fighting they can have a gym with blaziken, infernape and emboar(though it should be the last gym as they are pretty powerful pokemon and it would be very hard for them to be challenged in the beginning).a gym of 'weak' legendaries can be there.

In the Pokemon world

You may all think that i'm mad but........... I don't know why, but i keep on imagining things. I being in a Pokemon world, in a region called galaxy, in a region where you can have 9 Pokemon in your party. I've even wrote this story in a book of mine. About 100 pages are over. My starter is a Pichu which tries to evolve at the second gym, but cannot. And it becomes a Pokemon whose evolution is not completed. And my other Pokemon are, Lucario, Chimchar, Latios, Entei, Blastoise, Sceptile, Braviary and a Beartic.

Has any of you had such imaginations???

And I not only imagines about Pokemon, but also Beyblade. I have 3 Beys.
Lightning Lareon Tornado
Meteor Dragoon
Twister Claw.!!!
