Coconut planting

Umm...yes I've had two coconuts so far and neither of them grew. I planted them both on the beach but they always die. Is there a certain place on the beach tahts best for planting? Am I doing something wrong? Please help me.

Make a hole, then do a 360 degrees rovolation around the hole, and make sure you can make two holes away from the beach (okay if a hole goes, at most, 1/4, to be counted towards that two. Then plant it. Also, it doesn't have be near the beach, just near the OCEAN.

Here's a hint - Trees will always grow wherever weeds grow (unless it's touching a building or another tree).

And weeds grow about everywhere. Another thing you can do is chop down an ocean near tree and plant a coconut.

If you're going to grow them on the beach, make sure to not put them directly in the way of the water on the shore or right on the edges of the small cliffs over the water. I'd suggest in the middle of those cliffs. I've got about five coconut trees growing along the beach area. :x

Thanks everyone I didn't know you could plant them by the beach I thought they had to be planted right in the sand. Well looks like I have to wait for another coconut to wash ashore. Looks like I have time to think where to put it.
