Codename-Revolution.com: New Generation Gaming

A lot's changed in gaming this year, and we're only just starting July. Wii and DS are dominating the charts all over the world: something nobody expected Nintendo to accomplish. There are new ways to play with those two consoles, as well, and that's revolutionising gaming all on its own. So why not go with the flow?

Well, we have. Codename-Revolution.com has relaunched just in time for E3, and we think you'll like what you see. We've finally got a new layout, which makes the site look better than ever, and we've had a massive cleanup which makes it so much easier to navigate through the website.

As well as all that, we've fully refurbished our news and games modules, as well as our old message board, which is up and running again. The games module includes all Nintendo games confirmed and released for GameCube, Wii, DS and the Virtual Console (a library of over 150 Nintendo titles altogether). With contacts all over the world, as well as with three major videogame companies including Nintendo, we can provide you with all the content you'll ever need.

Of course, E3 is bound to be good this year, so we've gone that extra bit further. We've got a page dedicated to all E3 news and the games shown there, which you can find on the left navigation bar. With a live news feed straight from the Nintendo conference on 11 July as well, you'll want to keep your eyes on the site for up-to-date news as it happens.

So that's us. We hope you enjoy the new Codename-Revolution.com and the new message board, and we hope you'll stick around for E3 and for much longer after that.

chaos on the internet

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Since you actually seem serious about your site...

* I'd recommend using mod_rewrite to fix up some of the URLs. i.e,
http://www.codename-revolution.com/games.php -> http://www.codename-revolution.com/games
http://www.codename-revolution.com/fullNews.php?newsId=184 -> http://www.codename-revolution.com/news/184
http://www.codename-revolution.com/games.php?system=GCN -> http://www.codename-revolution.com/gcn/
* Maybe design for 1024 instead of 800 pixels? From my statistics, less than 5% of my visitors use 800px wide screens. Even stuff like CNN.com doesn't design for 800 anymore; it's kind of archaic at this point. It would help to make your content area not so.. squished.
* Speaking of squished, your non-index pages don't have the stuff on the right sidebar, but the sidebar still takes up space. If you aren't gonna use the sidebar, get rid of it on those pages
* I don't really think anyone uses topsites anymore... feel free to correct me if your statistics can back it up, but when you get a bit bigger maybe remove the topsites link taking up spaces on the sidebar every page load. I dunno, everytime I see one of those I always think "this site isn't best of breed". YMMV

good luck

Thanks for the info, I'll look into that. :) To be honest I don't like using the topsites, it doesn't help us. I'll be removing it soon, I think. And I can definitely see the next layout being 1024 pixels. Thanks for the info again, it's much appreciated. :)
