I know there's different ways suited to different pokemon (calm, modest etc) but do legendaries (dogs) take longer than other Pokemon as a general rule? I haven't tried to purify pokemon non-legendary since I encounter level 35's, but is it based on level, personality or legendary/not?

You could just use the flute on 2 of the dogs, couldn't you?

I used my first flute on Entei, then did Suicune and Raikou the long way. I will save the last two flutes for some of the last shadow Pokemon, such as tyranitar.

Yep. Legendaries and stronger Pokémon (Metagross, Tyranitar.) take a longer time to be purified.

It mostly has to do with lv. The higher the lv, the harder it is. But Legendaries, Metagross and Tyranitar are super hard. They take forever.

The only legendaries are the dogs, right? All three dogs are done, so I'll use flutes 2 and 3 on 'gross and 'tar.

Like what Pharohguy530 said the higher the lv of the shadow pokemon, the harder and longer its takes.
