Colos is hard

Okay,

I'm a pretty experienced user of the pokémon games, but Colos is hard..
I'm used to having pokémon of at least a few levels higher than my foes, but right now I only have a Umbrean of level 50, battling Ein with pokes of level ~46

And it's always a double battle so my Entei of 41 gets slaughtered all the time.
Can't even get to the Raikou of Ein.

Am I doing anything wrong? Trainig is a pain in Colos, cause every battle will take ages (an animation everytime a poke is hit and half of the time they use either Rain Dance or Sunny Day URGH) and that makes the game boring. I usually spend 5 minutes training, before getting bored (which means 1 battle here).

Any tips for me? Cause this makes the game suck..

First off dump Entei it is crap. What is the rest of your team and their move and Use the master ball trick so you never run all out of pokeball. As for training go to Mt.battle for training.

Use the following trick to get unlimited Master Balls. You need two types of Pokeballs to do this. To get all the Master Balls desired, go into a battle where you must capture a Shadow Pokemon. With your first Pokemon, choose the Master Ball and aim it at the Shadow Pokemon. With your second Pokemon, switch the Master Ball into a different spot by pressing Y and pressing A on the location you want it at. Once you capture the Pokemon, check back in your bag and the Master Ball will still be there. You must do this each time you try to catch a Pokemon.

And it isn't cheating just a loophole that the game maker forgot to take out.

Yeah, select the ball with the first poke, and change it's slot with the second poke. It will throw the ball but the ball doesn't go away.

Oh btw, how do I get a masterball? I'm in EIN's lab, but I don't have it yet.

My team (xcept Entei):

Umbreon Lvl 49 blackglasses
  • Faint attack
  • Bite
  • Secret Power
  • Screech

Meganium Lvl 39 Miracle seed
  • Razor Leaf
  • Body Slam
  • Sunny Day
  • Synthesis

Dunsparce *whimper* Lvl 36
  • Spite
  • Glare
  • Yawn
  • Take Down

Espeon Lvl 33 Exp. Share
  • Confusion
  • Swift
  • Reflect
  • Helping Hand

Hitmontop Lvl 42 Black Belt
  • Triple Kick
  • Rapid Spin
  • Agility
  • Focus Energy

OMG.. JUST NOTICED I FORGOT TO SAVE LAST TIME
Now I have to get through the entire lab again -_-

EDIT: Hmm, the walkthrough says I'll get it lateron.

Can I just beat the pokémon and catch them later? Or is there only one chance to catch them? (Didn't catch all of em yet anyway)

EDIT2: Are my pokémon supposed to be this weak? Or did I miss some training at the beginning? Cause it's hard and boring like this. (Matches taking up to 15 minutes are not fun)

Why did you get rid of return that was a strong move if you have the tm reteach it.

Hitmontop Lvl 42 Black Belt

  • Focus Energy

Get brick break and replace it over Focus Energy

I know, but the other ones aren't really effective.. hate spending much time on them. Also, my pokémon are so weak, that I hardly live 3 rounds against the darkies (especially the good ones)...

Should I start over? Or can I trade a few strong pokes from my Emerald or Firered (or Ruby for that matter) game? Or can't I do that untill I have beaten the game?

You can't trade untill you beat the game might as well restarted so you can choose better pokemon but the choice is up to you.

Yeah, think I will do that.

Also; which poke should I choose to train; Umbreon, Espeon, or both?

~Shadow Espeon~

I did it!!
You need to seriously train your team! The reason you lose is because none of your other pokemon can really stand that much abuse! I think you need to train(I find that the long battles makes it more fun) and dump Dunsparce for something else. Maybe an electric, rock or ice type since you seem to have a major weakness to flying types(Meganium, Hitmontop are weak and nothing else has attacks that would be super effective)

Is just my oppinion.

Train Espeon. Umbreon is pathetic for beating the main story. Espeon, on the other hand, is awesome.

Just train your Team. Piloswine and Ampharos might be helpful as well.

Though if the long battles are turning you off, you should give it up. Or have more patience...

The guy doesn't HAVE to use the Master Ball trick every time he encounters a shadow Pokémon. It's a glitch where users discovered and probably a lot has abused it. Also, I won't continue the moveset judging, as this is not an RMT section or anything.

What?? :?

But as everyone else had aforementioned above, you need to learn a very valuable word called patience. Be patient and train your team thoroughly. What I do is train them to a certain level before fighting a certain Cipher boss. How do I determine what level to stop? I look up the levels of the boss' team, and attempt to get at the same level or one or two levels higher.

Just train your team more and have the team more balanced. Espeon and Umbreon are both good to use, both having their strengths and weaknesses. Remember to balance the team out by types advantages and disadvantages, along with the balance of their levels.

WDF! You have a baton passer as your hughest level? Man you are screwed up. And Faint Attack? Umbreon is not physical. Remember dat.

So far the moveset is preety crappy. Becuase you trained Umbreon instead! Umbreon should have been lv 33, replaced with the lv 49 espeon.Hitmontop Lvl 42 Black Belt
  • Triple Kick
  • Rapid Spin
  • Agility
  • Focus Energy
Counter Over Focus Focus Energy, Brick Break over Triple Kick.

Try to train a pokemon which has an earth move. It could take a long time but it worked for me.

What I do is, is that I train all of my Pokémon to equal lvls. On Colosseum now, I'm almost done with getting ALL of my Pokémon to Lv60. Yes, LEVEL SIXTY. I have over 100 hours, even though the clock stops at 99:99. It's not hard at all. Just train, train, TRAIN in Mt. Battle.
