I'm thinking of starting a new FR/LG, or Ru/Sa/Em game, but breeding all the pokemon I'll use in my new set IE (Starting with a Charmander/Bulbasaur/Squirtle/?/?/?). I want a Chansey in the party... but hard to get. Any other ideas? Trying not to start with an uber set.

Something I'm a tid confused on, Charizard + Ditto = charmander?

Er, of course. If you breed ditto with anything you'll get the lowest form in the evoloution line.

There seem to be no good flying pokemon except for legendaries... any good flying ones come to mind? Skarmory is the first in my mind, except all that I've only really finished pokemon leaf green (old saves got deleted or corrupted a while ago). No Skarmorys in LG, any other good breedable fliers?

Ew... my lv 5 charmander has Flamethrower, overheat, and fire blast... lotsa fire.

Dodrio is the only good one that you can get fairly early thats good when it comes to me

Good at Life.
Ditto + Charizard = Charmander, yes.

Water = Staryu/Starmie.
Fighting = Mankey/Primeape early (route 4 early), Heracross/Medicham when you get later in the game.
Flying = Spearow/Fearow, until you can get a Doduo/Dodrio.
Fire = Charmander/Charizard, Growlithe/Arcanine.
Ground = Diglett/Dugtrio, otherwise just use someone else who can learn EQ and/or Rock Slide.
Psychic = Abra/Alakazam or Gastly/Gengar for all kinds of fun.

Those should be about all you need to beat anything in the game. I think every type is covered, since Starmie can learn Ice Beam and both Kazam and Gengar can learn Ice Punch. Have fun.

Here is what I reccomend:

Grass: ;045; Vileplume
Fire: ;006; Charizard
Water: ;130; Gyarados
Electric: ;026; Raichu
Psychic: ;065; Alakazam
Rock/Ground: ;095; Onix

That was the team I used in FR, except I prevented ;045; Gloom from evolving, until I got a Sun Stone, to evolve it to ;182; Bellosom and ;095; Onix with a Metal Coat to get a ;208; Steelix.
