Okay, I'm confused. So is it just Porygon2? Not Porygon-Z with a pre-evo corner? Does this mean Chansey will be in a different week from Blissey?
Never mind, anyways Porygon2 is a prime example of why old technology should still be respected even in today's era of smartphones and Wi-Fi. Say what you will of old iMac PCs. At least their screens don't crack with the slightest impact (Shots fired). And Porygon2 works the same way. While not as strong or fast as its dubious evolution, Porygon2 carves its own niche as a reliable defensive Eviolite user much like Chansey and Dusclops.
Made of Nokia
Ability: Trace
Item: Eviolite
Nature: Bold (+Defense -Attack)
EVs: (HP 252) (Defense 156) (Sp.Defense 100)
Moves:
Tri Attack
Thunderbolt/Shadow Ball
Ice Beam/Psychic
Recover
Set Details:
A defensive Eviolite Porygon2 with all the nature and EV fix'ns. Tri Attack is your reliable STAB and the other two offensive options are a matter of preferance. Ice Beam and Thunderbolt form the infamous BoltBeam coverage, but Shadow Ball and Psychic are helpful for dealing with Ghost types that are immune to Tri Attack and Fighting types who think they can sponge your attacks and then go in for the knock out. And lastly we of course have Recover which keeps Porygon2 healthy and strong as it absorbs oncoming attacks. The loss of Toxic this generation is a shame since Porygon2 could have gotten some notable use of it, but thems the breaks I guess. Ability goes to Trace since there's a good chance you will copy abilities like Water Absorb or Flash Fire to counter opponent STAB. And if you get REALLY lucky, you might just come in on Shedinja *wink* *wink*.
Other Options:
Conversion: Turns Porygon into the type of its first move, and can be useful if only to throw the opponent off. Sadly the loss of omniboost Z-Conversion is a tragedy...
Discharge: Slightly weaker than Thunderbolt, but the added paralysis chance is useful for speed control and is therefore worth a serious consideration since Porygon2 is more defensive.
Agility: Better suited to its evolution for sweeping capabilities. I honestly would have preferred Cosmic Power if it got access to it...
Hyper Beam: Again, better suited to Porygon-Z, and even then you may want to reconsider despite the Adaptability boost no thanks to the recharge.
Thunder Wave: More consistent than Discharge, but it will come at the cost of offensive coverage.
Foul Play: This can REALLY throw off your opponent if they come in with a physical sweeper, but it's a little too situational and it doesn't get STAB.
