    This thing is forgetable. Awesome typing, way too many weaknesses. Gets some good moves, but no priority and no speed means that eventhough it can hit hard with two great offensive typings, it is incredibly easy to KO before it gets the chance.

    Crabominable is noteworthy in Sun/Moon for being one of the earliest things you can catch with one of the latest evolutions. Which is... not a good thing to be noteworthy for. At least US/UM fixed that a bit...

    Crabominable's stat spread is not dissimilar to Rampardos. It's got decent HP, great attack, but is pretty bad everywhere else. Mind you, it's not quite as min-maxed as Rampardos, so it has a bit more bulk (although still nothing too impressive given its typing), and a bit less attack as well. Still, base 132 attack is nice, and many of its moves get boosted by Iron Fist as well. It's too slow to sweep and its typing often leaves it taking heavy damage since it's packing 6 weaknesses and only only 3 resistances. The only decent thing you can say of its typing is it's one of the few Ice types not weak to Rock, which lessens the impact Stealth Rock has upon it. However, some of the things that it its STAB attacks hit SE against are also hitting it for SE damage as well, such as Steel and Flying.

    The best Crabominable can hope to accomplish is being a bulky(ish) tank/wallbreaker. It can opt for Life Orb or Choice Band to stretch its offenses, or go for Assault Vest to bolster its special defense to take advantage of its decent HP. Regardless of which you pick though, keep it in the lower tiers; it's too slow and susceptible to do anything in higher tier play. Its moveset is pretty much the same regardless though. Ice Hammer is basically Hammer Arm but Ice type; lowers your speed upon use. For this reason, since its best STAB is gonna be slowing it down further regardless, Crabominable usually opts for Brave nature. It can also have some success in low tier Trick Room as a result. For its Fighting STAB, Drain Punch can offer limited healing which works well in conjunction with Assault Vest since it gets an Iron Fist boost, but even accounting for Iron Fist, Close Combat still hits harder. Just note that you'll be revenge killed pretty easily due to the defense drops. Thunder Punch deals with bulky waters it may run into where you might actually use Crabominable, most notably Swanna. Finally, Stone Edge or Earthquake can round out its coverage; Stone Edge is its best bet against Froslass who doesn't care about either of its STAB attacks, while Earthquake is your best bet against Qwilfish. It's honestly just most dependent on what kinda coverage your team needs more.

    Invest in HP and Attack EVs to ensure it hits as hard as possible while having as much bulk as possible as well. If you do intend to go through with Trick Room, 0 Speed IVs are helpful.

    I cannot stress this enough though, Crabominable isn't gonna be doing much of anything in any kind of high tiers or official formats. Slow with average-at-best bulk and horrible defensive typing is gonna leave it lucky to get off one attack, let alone multiple ones. There's MANY better Fighting types. Conkeldurr does basically everything it does better due to better typing and bulk. All Crabominable can really boast is STAB Ice Hammer and an ice resistance. Which is... not worth much.

    Crabominable is an interesting Pokémon. One of the better offensive typings in the game, as few things can outright no sell both Ice and Fighting (Lampent, Frosslass, Larvesta, Golisopod, Jellicent, Tentacruel, and Salazzle) and nearly all of them are covered by Earthquake, Stone Edge, and Payback/Pursuit. However, 6 weaknesses, including common typings like Fairy, Fire and Fighting plus subpar defenses and a low speed mean that Crabominable is easy to revenge KO. Almost nothing can switch in safely, but once in, dispatching Crabominable is rather simple.

    My attempt at a "speedy" Crabominable full investment into Speed + Bulldoze can outspeed anything that is + natured base 85, which covers a good chunk of PU. Bulldoze also has a decent utility, slowing down potential switches and hitting targets that otherwise resist Crabominable's STABs. Ice Hammer and Drain Punch/Close Combat for STABs. Final move is up to preference. Pursuit is great for anything that wants to switch out, whether scared by Crabominable or the speed drops, while Stone Edge, Earthquake and Thunder Punch all have their coverage options. Assault Vest to get back some of the defense lost for not investing in HP.

    Gimmick set.
