Compatability Question

Sorry if this has been answered before but I looked around and did a coupld of searches and couldn't find an answer.

From what I've heard on these forums, D/P will be backwards compatable with R/S/E/Fr/Lg. But how would this work? I assume that the pokemon are not already programmed into the game, so are they just made so they can take any pokemon? And if so, why haven't people made their own pokemon and loaded them into roms and stuff?

You shouldn't discuss Roms on SPP. That would earn you a serious banning. Anyway, to answer your question, you put Ruby, Sapphire, Fire Red, Leaf Green and Emerald into the GBA slot and drop off pokemon there. into Diamond or Pearl. That's how it's going to work. It's similar to how when GSC came out, you were able to send RBY pokemon to GSC but you couldn't send new pokemon to the old ggames.

That's how it's gonna be I believe.

It'll work the same way as with G/S/C. No new things can go into R/S/E. The trading will be easily done, as you can have a DS and GBA game in the DS at the same time. Look at Pokemon Dash. No Rom talk.

And yes, this HAS been answered a few times before. ;/
