• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.
  • Hi all. We had a couple of reports of people's signatures getting edited etc. in a bad way. You can rest assured this wasn't done by staff and nobody has compromised any of our databases.

However, remember to keep your passwords secure. If you use similar passwords to elsewhere which has been accessed, people and even bots may be able to access your account.

We always recommend using unique passwords, and two-factor authentication if you are able. Make sure you're as secure as possible

EVs to outspeed all base 130s after a Rock Polish. Thoughts on this potential UU sweeper?

Poor offensive STAB and low attack score say no. Movepool's alright, and Ice Punch is better than Rock Slide, but the power still isn't there. It's not like you have a reason to be fast either. You are bulky enough to take most hits without difficulty.

Could someone rate this?

The main reason why you didn't get it rated is because you put a team. Next time make a thread to show your team.

I know, I realized a day after I had posted, I haven't posted here in over a year, and the rules have changed obviously haha, my bad, thanks for the info.

Superpower/Brick Break

Scizor should never be using Special Attack. Also, you're missing 6 EVs (well, 4 is all that matters in the typical 252/252/4 spread).

It's basically a really poor version of SD Scizor. It's wise to not max out it's speed, let it outspeed specific threats then dump the rest into HP.

Superpower is absolutely necessary on Scizor. Otherwise Heatran can switch in and force you out with ease.

Guys what do you think of this

Bronzong w/ ??
Careful nature
Levitate

252hp, ??, ??
Equake
Stealth rock
Trick room
??

3lmi

pimping aint easy
Careful is okay, people usually go for Sassy or Relaxed. For the last slot put Gyro Ball for STAB, you could switch Earthquake for Explosion. Your Bronzong looks like something from Smogon, just saying.

Bronzong w/ ??Leftovers or Macho brace
Careful natureSassy is better, especially for Trick room setter
Levitate

Oh that brings back memories. I seem to recall something about, after Brick Break, Bullet Punch doing enough to finish it off. Or the next switch in to SR. Or something like that.

I've never used a SD Scizor that wasn't SD/BP/U-turn/Superpower though. Perhaps someone can clarify, as I can't be bothered running a simple damage calculation.

Brick Break is viable for a number of reasons, such as not losing on Attack and Defense and taking down screens.

I too am too tired to run damage calcs, but if all you wanted to do was prevent Heatran from coming in, I think Superpower would be the choice. Now, is it the better all around move? Probably not. Pursuit would be my first guess.

Pursuit on a swords dancer is questionable, especially if you don't have anything to hit steels. Brick Break is the traditional option, though SuperPower has its merits.

Blue Ace

Pokemon is Dead
A +1 Superpower still manages to do slightly more or about the same damage as a +2 Break Break.

I thought it was 2 Superpowers still being stronger than 2 Brick Breaks... though it's all the same really. If that's the only reason, it's not good enough. Reducing the power of your STABs to get a slight power bonus is kinda dumb, even if Skarm doesn't like it. Just EV slower than it and hit it on the Roost or something... (Or more intelligently, let your team deal with it.)

Jolly - Chlorophyll
EVs : 252 HP/252 Spd

Sunny Day
Memento
Stun Spore (Thinking if toxic may also be of more use)
Sleep Powder

Probably my starter as of now. It might not be as damaging as others starters but it depends on team play support for effectiveness. Please critic.

I use the same set except I use Encore over Stun Spore as it is FAR more useful.

An example of how it can help you is if you Encore something using SR (or any non-damaging move that isn't Taunt) it will give you a free turn to set up whilst they switch out or even send the incoming poke to sleep.
