Back in Blue?
Yeah, I guess you're right, but it's exciting to relive the moment ;). Hahaha, I love Quagsire's art.

It makes you wonder though, because the Gyarados in the video didn't have Intimidate...o.o

Just like that video showing the Giratina egg hatching makes you wonder there's "something else" to be revealed (like a baby form???). However, quite frankly, it's safer to assume that they just love to cut video footages on funny times than to believe Red Gyarados has Drizzle. While it COULD be possible, programming and story-wise (in GSC, the Rocket's electromagnetical waves altered Gyarados's genes, making it shiny (as the IVs determined a pokémon's shininess); now, it would affect only the skin DNA, plus its ability), having Drizzle per se is absurd. I'd believe more in Volt Absorb than Drizzle.

Oh my god Volt Absorb would be a blessing for this special Gyarados. Besides, Drizzle will just make Thunder 100% accurate, which isn't nice :D

And yeah, the waves changed it to shiny. I wondered back then why haven't any mutations and such developed or something. Or even special moves that is the product of said tampering of the Gyarados. Oh well, let's wait :p

AND IT WAS THIS BIG!
But it would make sense as the area where there is a maze is flooded the lake should never be rainy all the time and they could want to make it special instead of a random shiny.

Something nobody has really talked about, is the Bug Catcher with the Lapras..

Seeing as how Bug Catchers don't usually train Lapras, and back in G/S/C the only Lapras was supposed to be the one in Union Cave.. Isn't it a safe bet to assume that the whole area the Pokethlon is in is Wi-Fi?

If it was Wireless Connect, it wouldn't have been a Bug Catcher sprite, but a regular Gold sprite.

EDIT: If Gyrados gets Volt Absorb, I quit.

Wait why a whole area only through wifi. More so why a whole area outside and not inside a global terminal or a gts dedicated to wifi? That would just telling those who can't to go screw themselves your not wanted. And anyway I bet it has much more importance then just minigames. Volt asorb Gyarados? I am sorry but are you mad?

It would be like the Wi-Fi plaza in Platinum..

Wasn't the Wi-Fi plaza telling those who can't go on it to screw themselves? It's not that hard to see, since it's been done before.

It could be partially wi-fi, or something since it appears on the OW map..

EDIT: Then again so does Pal Park, and that's not accessible to anyone without the 3rd gen games..

In addition, I'd like to point out that

1. I'm pretty sure you can get another Lapras if you come the next Friday

2. There are multiple Lapras from Sinnoh and Sevii Islands

3. Lapras can breed

So it's not like there's only one Lapras in the world.

Still it was not a full blown area outside but a small area inside. And anyway seeing how they are adding medals and your character changes outfit it would be crazy to make it wifi only. And anyway if it was wifi where is the connection strength image?

But it would make sense as the area where there is a maze is flooded the lake should never be rainy all the time (well, routes 119 and 212 have infinite rain) and they could want to make it special instead of a random shiny.

I agree, they may want to give something special to this Gyarados. But Drizzle is just too... god-like. I'm not even talking on a competitive basis, but just imagine a little retarded karp evolving into a sea monster and getting an ability that only the mythological creator of the seas had ever had before.

And why not? Sure it wouldn't make sense but whatever I can't see the lake having rain all the time. Yeah the 2 lakes are new. Available who knows but new.

Why did routes 119 and 212 have infinite rain, then?

I could see this happening. I wouldn't like it, but I wouldn't be surprised if the the area west of National Park a sort of Wi-Fi plaza.

Though I wonder if you can access SOME of it, considering that it's on the map, unlike Platinum's Wi-Fi Plaza...

And I'd love for Gyarados to get Volt Absorb, it would have a ton of usage that way.

I believe his point was that a Bug specialist had a Lapras, not that he had a Pokemon that was supposedly one-of-a-kind.

Why did routes 119 and 212 have infinite rain, then?

Mitchman is saying that, if the Lake of Rage has perpetual rain, why would it just now be flooding?

That indeed was his point. Which couldn't be farther from the truth. Lapras wasn't even one-of-a-kind in GSC, or at least I don't think it was.

A wild Lapras will always be in Union Cave every Friday, whether you had caught it before or not, it will still appear. Why are we talking about the availability of Lapras in the games anyway O____o

EDIT: OMFG MY RANK CARD IS WHITNEY. OH JESUS THE UGLY MEMORIES!!! (don't pay attention to this part, it's ugly :)

It already has a lot of usage since Advance >_>

Mitchman is saying that, if the Lake of Rage has perpetual rain, why would it just now be flooding?

You mean why is it flooded now when it wasn't in the originals? Because other than that, there's no way to know if the Lake started flooding only because of the Red Gyarados incident or not. Can't it just be because it's a remake of a game with no weather routes, and then they decided to add infinite rain to the route as if the rain was there since the beginning of time to justify having that flooded area instead of the Headbutt maze?

Well, maybe Kyogre has the ability to summon rain clouds, and maybe even has the ability to make it stay forever. That's just me, but IRL, it's Game Freak's doing.

Route 212 is in Sinnoh, and Route 119 was rainy even in pokémon Ruby.
