@Ryanide & Lucario At Service: Oh. I did not know they did that. I retract my previous statement and offer a formal, heartfelt apology. I am still a little frizzled from yesterday's discussions and am a little on the defensive still. I think it's time for a cup of coffee.

ps: Those pictures do look awesome. I like the scary one the best.

OMG I LUVED ALL THOSE PICS, SAVED EM ALL <3 (O.O my feminine side just burst out like...!??!?!) could ya tell meh where ya found them?
Now I have to admit those evolutions look pretty badass and quite accurate look at some of those features (Like the tail on the pig, and the shell on the blue thingee XD) Though the pig looks more like its middle stage to me!

Ugh, I sure hope mujimura's final evolution doesn't look like that. I want something sleeker and less Blastoise-like.

I must say Tsutaji and Mijumaru have grown on me over night, it's funny how a day to process these kinds of things give one perspective, definitely going with Tsutaji now, just to shuffle up the starter types I use a little more. Plus it looks like it'll be the "fast one" of this group and that tends to be my style.

Still like bacon though.

I just must say that the new starters are very childish and clownish..there trying to get the kids more =/ ...Although the final evos might be good..like Pokabu could be some boar.. =p

I've loved them from the very start, they're actually really original and Gamefreak have surpassed themselves again. I love Mijumaru's design the most, such an adorable little otter, i can't wait to see it's final evolution.

Imagine that.

I'm happy that overall reception of these little guys is good. They're growing on me more and more, and I'm excited to see what they'll evolve into and what kind of moves they'll have-- or even what low level moves they'll start off with.

Cripes, I've got to start thinking up nicknames for them! :)

I can't say I've warmed to them very much to be honest, as none of them are very edgy. They're all just a bit cutesy. The pig and the snake (which has limbs!?) have grown on me somewhat, though the otter is just a bit of a travesty, looking virtually nothing like a real creature.;200;

just wanted to throw this out there for all those having issues with the grass snake having limbs. its pokemon, this is a world where rodents shoot thunderbolts, and rock monsters explode and only faint after exploding. its a creative world where a snake, can have limbs if its creators wish for them too.

I just don't quite see why it's necessary to give it limbs, they could have made it equally cool without them, and they just kinda make the fact that it's a snake pointless. I get your point, but still disagree with the limbs.
just wanted to throw this out there for all those having issues with the grass snake having limbs. its pokemon, this is a world where rodents shoot thunderbolts, and rock monsters explode and only faint after exploding. its a creative world where a snake, can have limbs if its creators wish for them too.

This poster is right, though. I can't remember the last time I saw a moth with massive googly eyes, or a piece of coral with a face & limbs, or a bee with DRILLS on the end of its arms.

Besides, Mudkip is a 'Mud Fish' and he has arms. Jeez!

Lol, the fanart is really creative, totally makes Mijumaru likable! :p

With evolutions fan art, I though those were a little excessive.. I don't want to see the Tsutaja go full Cobra on us.. Pokabu's evo with a bomb as its butt.. that would be funny, maybe there will be a move that's called Blast Tackle... 120 base power and 80 accuracy xD

I was wondering about the moves as well...

Tsutaja: Scratch and Tail Whip (though I can see Leer working out)
Pokabu: Tackle and Growl
Mijumaru: Pound and Leer?

Heh, so I'm not the only one who thought Pokabu resembles P-chan! That's a cute pic.

Anyway, yeah-- why should the artists who design the Pokemon be restricted by what's possible for real life creatures? I'd be a shame for them to restrict themselves that way.

Honestly, I don't see what's so bad about these starters. I like them all, the fire one is the one I find least original or most common but I still like it. I saw many comment saying that the otter looks neutral, like if it's appearance says nothing of him. Well, don't we all like a little curiosity? It's like a cliff-hanger (what's he REALLY feeling?) LOL. I've always used the water starters (except in Ruby and Sapphire where I really couldn't even get near to Mudkip, I'm sorry but that's just a whole lotta ugly and it's by far my least favorite version, even though it has one of my top favorite grass pokemon: Treecko for those who are wondering). As of right now, I'm looking forward to them. On type speculation, I'd say:

- Fire/Ground over Fire/Dark, I think Fire/Dark has been a little abused but it would still be okay since it'll give him more defenses so to speak (I mean Fire and Ground is x4 weakness to Water)
- Water should just be pure water...Ice wouldn't be bad but I'm not exactly looking forward to it.
- Grass/Psychic would be better than Grass/Flying or Grass/Fighting. Grass/Fighting was done with Breloom and that wasn't that good, it was kind of weak even though the idea wasn't that bad with the Breelom sprite. I just don't see anything near to Grass/Fighting from the uber cool grass snake.

I know this is too long for a first post but I just wanted to comment on almost anything said LOL.

i like the grass one but i just dont like the other 2 enough!
i think the water pokemon is awful and the fire pig may turn me away from the fire starters :'( its final evo must be good or its the grass one for me.....
