Wow...
I really don't wanna get involved in this meaningless discussion -.- As others have said, the anime doesn't reflect the true view on Pokemon; canon-wise, Arceus is the god of SINNOH. And the smaller region that's apparently a joint-belief...city? Tribe? Not sure what to call Shinto... But yes. Just as Mew is apparently the "first Pokemon" of Kanto mythology, Arceus is the creator god of Sinnoh Mythology.

Now...Omega Pokemon? Don't really see that happening myself. =/
Especially considering the first Pokemon is Bulbasaur. So the last and final Pokemon of the entire franchise, whenever that day may come, should, in MY opinion be a parallel to the Bulba line. Not sure how that'd be carried out, but I'm sure they could think of something.
Ha.

A Pokemon coming from an egg doesn't seem too godly to me. It indicates that it was created. Therefore I do not see Arceus as a "god" Pokemon. Sure he may have created other Pokemon, humans create other humans, are we gods? But I'm not about to get sucked into this whole "omgz arceuz rly iz da god of pokamenz!!!111!" with the reason of "just watch da anime1!!" Besides, the anime doesn't reflect what Satoshi Tajiri's Pokemon world is.

The egg was "self-made" out of chaos, not merely "created" as if by the hands of someone else. And what's the problem of having a God being born out of something else? It's still a God; it just isn't from a monotheistic point of view.

I still think Arceus is just "the creator", which still is a couple steps above any other pokémon.

Ha.

Bulbasaur wasnt the first to be discovered... its just the first one Oak catagorized in the Kanto Pokedex.

Can everyone let it go, what the heck does Arceus have to do with the 5th Gen? Arceus is the 'god' or whatever of Sinnoh, doesn't mean its the god of every other region or even the universe.
Just like how Ho-oh and Lugia are the legends of Johto, they're not the legends of any other region, cause they are legendary in the Johto Region!

And where is it stated that the next legendary Pokemon has to top Arceus??? NOWHERE!

I know, it was just a little humour. =)
But if that ends up happening, it'd be...creepy.

Personally, in regards to legendaries, I wish the would go back to the "mythical" type legends that didnt really have a "purpose". Mew, Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho oh, etc etc were just rare and mythical... they didnt have a purpose like "God of all Pokemon" or "Creator of land and sea". It was a novel idea for the last 2 gens, but they should just go back to they are rare.. not "Gods or Creators" of anything.

I just found new evidence in the anti-transform debate.
Yes, I'm going back there.

We all know what transform looks like in the anime: Pokemon glows and shrinks/grows into shape of other pokemon. This is not what Zoruark looks like. When he 'transforms', its more like he's shedding the shape.

That's shapeshifting. Which is what traditional mythological foxes do in Japan.

I can't believe there's 1,608 (now 609) responses to a "confirmed pokemon discussion thread" with only two confirmed. This is somewhat ridiculous, and now it's gone into completely unrelated topics.

That would be what happens when you get a bunch of overexcited ten year olds on the internet then allow them to post practically anything that floats through their mind at the moment

The battle forced evolution idea doesn't sit well with me. What if you never run into a battle with a Zoroark? Highly unlikely, but what if?

You and TheLupineOne make very good points. Id just figure it wouldnt occur in a "Wireless" battle or the Battle Frontier, but they could make exceptions. Hehe..

THANK YOU!!!! Finally someone agrees with me. Thought I was the only one who thought that. :D

Did I see the trailer right? To me it looked like Zorua was impersonating Celebi. Can someone confirm (as best they can)?
