Actually, I think the entire point of this issue of Corocoro was to draw attention to the Professor, rather than the Pokémon by using a few not-overly-exciting new Pokémon along with ones that we'd like.
Plus, who knows which of these Pokémon will evolve (or possibly is evolved...I'm looking at YOU Hihidaruma.)
Chiramii - it's a generic cutesy Pokémon with big ears, nothing too special, although for once, I'm going to have to submit and say that
this Pokémon is the first one so far that I think looks like a Digimon. There. I said it.
Munna - I actually quite like the quirkiness of it. It reminds me of a weird thing I would find in a corner of my like...grandmother's house (see the flower designs on its body, they remind me of doilies.)
Gear - I get all weirded out by this Pokémon. I know that it has something of an obvious eye, but if you look at it from every angle, you can see three faces. I'm not sure if I like it, or if it freaks me out, but it's a Pokémon to be appreciated, for sure.
Mamepato - it does look like Starly a bit, but face it - it's drawn really well. It will most likely be our generic bird of the Isshu region, but I could be wrong - maybe it might end up like Chatot. Or something.
Hihidaruma - This thing is hilarious! Every time I look at it, I keep thinking of the "
Dad's Home!" cartoon series. (Click the link. Pee your pants.) I won't be catching one, though, as my Pokabu <3 <3 <3 is the only Fire-type I'll ever need!
Shimama - OMFGWTFBBQSAUCE!!! I LOVE this new Pokémon! I've been craving a Zebra since Hoenn. Plus, I had already made my fanfic version of a zebra years ago, but gave up on it. Love it's design - to me it just screams like an evolution will make it badass. Maybe the Isshu region's Ponyta?
Meguroko - this thing is oddly charming to me. It doesn't look like a Pokémon, but it seems to be a logical condition. Before you chuck bricks at me, think about it. In Africa, crocodiles and hippopotami interact. We have Hippopotas and Hippowdon, now we just need a desert crocodile. That's probably the logic. I can see Meguroko jumping out of the sand, biting onto a Hippopotas, and dragging it into a sand-trap (in the wild.)
It seems to me that they were getting the Dunsparce (don't hate on me if you're crazy about it. I'm just saying that it doesn't have all the obvious bells and whistles.) out of the way before they reveal the rest.
