Confronting the Darkness! (869)

The bot committed the crime not the creator.

Well technically not the creator.

It was addressed by the villain even, but still, he had really no ulterior motive to be evil. He was just evil for the sake of it.

That & he wanted to stroke his ego of creating the best robots.

This was a decent episode. I'm looking forward to seeing the battle between Ash and Clemont.

A fine episode, but there's nothing special about it. Looking forward to the gym battle between Clemont and Ash now. Glad that Ash and Serena showed Clemont their newly evolved Pokémon to him.

This was a pretty random episode, and a disappointing episode too since I was looking forward to the gym battle. I guess I could've just looked ahead at the episode list, but I'm not about that life. A dull filler. I just hope they get on with this battle soon, and it better be good.

Ash really should of kept Goodra secret until the battle.
I didn't really like the villain but his voice was good. Disappointed both Team Rocket and Blaziken Mask were only around for a minute at the end. 5

I guess I didn't find this episode too interesting, what with it taking me a week to find something to say about it.
The next episode is a gym battle ep, so it'll be more interesting for sure.

Not one of my favorite episodes, that's a given. Nice to see the gang back together with Clemont. I liked how Serena showed off Braixen as she evolved. Same with Ash and Goodra, but I also agree with another user that Ash should have waited til the gym battle to unveil Goodra.

The villain was painfully stale, but he had a good voice actor. Dark Clembot wasn't as interesting as I anticipated, but Bot battle was pretty cool.

Poor Clembot, feeling so many emotions when getting arrested. He was probably the best part of the episode.

Another fine episode.

Clembot is great. His personality is so unlike the others that he fits in perfectly, I just wish the gang could take him along for a little while at least as I think he would add a lot to the team.

Dark Clembot and Belmondo were typical villains with a typical selfish motive but I'm glad Clement and Clembot managed to take them down.

Nice episode, onto the next one!

Clembot is literally Clemont with a butler attitude...

I personally don't agree but I truly believe that he added something to this episode and I would have liked to see more of him.

Eh, filler, but I did like how there were two battles here and how the scientist's black Clembot was using the fundamentally flawed strategy of powering up through an attack in order to tackle an opponent down unexpectedly. :/

Ash really wants to be an open book for the Gym battle: it was bad enough he didn't train for it or teach any of his Pokemon new moves or battle strategies, but immediately showing Clemont Goodra, rather than having him assume he'd be fighting a pathetic Goomy or Ash needing to use Fletchinder in a 3 on 3 battle.

It was pleasant seeing Ash's group reach Lumiose city again as well as seeing Clemont. I liked how the Clembot was arrested and framed for a crime that it didn't even commit, tho I wish Clemont had owned the Magnezone.

tho I wish Clemont had owned the Magnezone.

Eh, his Magneton wasn't strong enough to evolve since Clemont never used him; the Clembot was practically the one who raised it while Clemont was with Ash. I'm glad that the evil scientist owned Magnezone, instead.

So we got to see Satoshi, Serena, and Eureka reunite with Citron in Miare City, which was enhanced by the Black Citroid subplot. I liked seeing Limone/Bursyamo Mask again, and the showdown between Rentorar and Jibacoil was a good way of showing us Citron's improvement before the Miare Gym match.

Alexa attempting to figure out the true identity of the Blaziken-Mask seemed like something out of a manga. This whole episode seemed really funny with locking up Clembot, but it seems like Officer Jenny is someone who can never be taken seriously even though she has a serious job. The only part that bugs me was how quickly they caught the dude. Some quick typing on Clemont's computer was all it took.

I think this episode was an opportunity to give Clemont a recurring rival, especially after the gym battle with Ash, like make them involved with some kind of a robotic/invention competition with Pokemons. It's a shame that Belmondo had to resort into crime in order to become the best robot creator, giving me the Dr. Wily vibe from the Megaman series, and he could use his gadgets to escape from Officer Jenny's capture like the latter. And Officer Jenny wasn't competent in her job, when she tried to figure out between the real and imposter Clembots. Decent episode overall.
