Cosmic Power - Dragonair pencil drawing

First and foremost, for those who don't know me, I am a reference artist, which means I don't draw my own stuff but instead copy or modify official art and whatnot. I'm not the best where sketching is concerned, and that's what I'll be working on this year, anyway, the reason I draw referenced work is because I enjoy shading. In fact, it's safe to say it's what I love most, and that's why I like drawing things that are already done, but I wouldn't completely call it art, it's more like using stock and making images out of it, but by hand :p

Anyway, this is to show you guys kind of how I get to my final result, in steps. This isn't exactly how I do it always, but here goes:

Be sure to click to enlarge. And here is a picture I took with my cellphone of the current state of the drawing:

Man, I remember you! You're one of the best artists back in the good days but I never really had a chance to comment and look at your works more often then. I do remember your other works that you did before and upon seeing your new works now, I have to say you're still great! It's a good thing that you returned.

Archangel Azazel

Fallen Angel
Wow these are excellent drawings! I'm a bit jealous >.< I really love the Dragonair and Sephiroth ones. So much detail on Dragonair its beautiful. For me Pencil Sketching is kind of difficult since I always end up with smudges -_- But you, you are amazing ^_^

And I finally finished the Dragonair!

@Nathan, It's great to see someone that knew of me before, even if you didn't comment back then haha, I really do appreciate the support.

@TLX, thank you! Smudges are often inevitable, so to protect a drawing, always put a piece of clean paper between your drawing and your hand, it's difficult to get used to at first, but it keeps your work clean!

Wow, I'm really amazed, it's good to know that you are still really good at this. Dragonair looks so majestic and love the details and effect that you put in the background. Hopefully we see more works from you. Great job!
