Gen 9 Fossil Idea

Cyber Device: An item needed to restore certain fossils. Lore-wise it is meant to use cybernetics to fill in the genetic gaps of certain fossils. Along with the region's signature fossil line. However because of the cybernetics they are unable to naturally breed, hence the Undiscovered group. Except for the Gigarilla line, they are exclusive to one version and based on the Gen 8 fossils

Gigarilla, Titanape and Primassive, The Cyber-Ape, Huge Age and Colossal Ape Pokemon
Type-Grass/Steel
Ability-Iron Fist/Fluffy(normal),
Gender ratio-50/50
Egg group-Undiscovered

Evolution: Gigarilla-Lv 25-Titanape-Lv 40-Primassive
Basis-The Gigantopithecus ape, combined with some King Kong inspiration

Technozolt, the Cyber-Raptor Pokemon

Gender ratio-50/50
Egg group-Undiscovered
Requirement: Fossilized Bird+Cyber Device

Dunkleborg, the Cyber-Fish Pokemon

Gender ratio-50/50
Egg group-Undiscovered
Requirement: Fossilized Dino+Cyber Device

Gen 4 remake evolution ideas

Platinum Stone: An item that can be used. An otherworldly item that radiates energy. It unlocks the evolutionary potential of certain Pokemon. If the Pokemon doesn't meet the requirements for evolution, using the Platinum Stone will just go "this item cannot be used right now" to avoid needlessly using it up

Oakfaux, the "Tree" Pokemon
Type-Rock/Dark
Ability-Green Thumb(normal), Sturdy(Hidden). Green Thumb
Evolution: Bonsly-Learn Mimic-Sudowoodo-use a Platinum Stone if Lv 42 or higher-Oakfaux

Phantomime, the Miming Pokemon
Type-Psychic/Ghost
Ability-Soundproof/Strong Screen(normal), Filter(Hidden). Strong Screen makes barrier and screen effects immune to moves that would normally be able to break them
Evolution: Mime Jr-Learn Mimic-Kantonian Mr Mime-use a Platinum Stone if Lv 42 or higher-Phantomime

N-gma and Ciphable, The Symbol Pokemon
Type-Psychic
Ability-Mysterious Power(moves with the same type as its Hidden Power are boosted by 50%)
Evolution-Unown-use a Platinum Stone with all other members of the party being Unown-N-gma-Lv 47-Ciphable

Jynx evolution
Type-Ice/Psychic

Evolution-Trade Jynx while holding the Platinum Stone

Sirsnatch'd, the Gentle Thief Pokemon

Bountizoon
Type-Normal/Fairy
Ability-Unchanged from regular Linoone
Evolution: Hoennian Zigzagoon-Lv 20-Linoone-Used a Platinum Stone during the day if the user is at Lv 35-Bountizoon

49 Spit Up
49 Swallow
50 Calm Mind
55 Scald
61 Safeguard
65 Mermaids Lure
70 Hyper Voice

Dex Entry 1- Galarian Dewgong are much larger than their Kantonian forms. They have adapted to a peaceful life feeding on sea grass. This altered their body shape but allowed them to draw upon mystical forces.

Dex Entry 2- Galarian Dewgong is said to be the origin of many Galarian stories regarding mermaids. However recent evidence indicates much of the reason for this is a Melodious voice.

Move
Mermaids Lure- (water) 70BP- 5PP- Deals damage and has 30% chance of causing attraction to Pokemon of the opposite Gender. Sound based.

Appearance- Resembles Dewgong but takes more inspiration from Dugongs, Manatees and Mermaids.

Here are some Rotom forms ;)

Slight changes:
  • Fan Rotom; now gets Hurricane instead of Air Slash. This is to keep with the theme of getting the strongest-yet-inaccurate move
New forms:
  • Jackhammer Rotom (Electric/Ground); Earth Power... unless we get a new Special 120 Atk Ground move ^^;
  • Drone Rotom (Electric/Bug); Bug Buzz... unless we get a new Special 120 Atk Bug move ^^;
  • Jukebox Rotom (Electric/Normal); Boomburst
  • Antenna Rotom (Electric/Steel); Steel Beam
  • Arcade Rotom (Electric/Fighting); Focus Blast
  • Camera Rotom (Electric/Fairy); Moonblast... unless we get a new Special 120 Atk Fairy move ^^;

Nice ideas! Also, I would change Fan Rotom's ability to something other than Levitate, which, because of its Flying typing, is redundant. How about Motor Drive?

The thing is that Rotom doesn't get an alternate ability when possessing an object, and even as a 3D model, Rotom is literally floating despite being much heavier :p

So yeah, maybe Levitate should be traded for something else when Rotom isn't in its normal form, such as Mow Rotom cancelling terrains.

I have an answer

Power Converter
Ability
Effect: If the user is not a Ghost type, their Ghost type moves will become the same type as the user's secondary type
Pokemon with this ability: Rotom (Hidden)

Alinitowl and Etteronos, the Sleep Snatcher and Space Dreamer Pokemon
Name basis: Night+alien+owl, Hypnos+E.T+terror
Type-Psychic/Normal(Captive Forme), Psychic/Dark(Normal Forme)
Ability-Sweet Dreams(Captive Forme), Bad Dreams(Normal Forme), Levitate (Hidden Ability). Sweet Dreams makes it so anyone on your side sleeping will become immune to any direct or indirect damage. As a trade-off Sleep Talk and Snore will fail if used and Rest will not heal the user
Form change: Alinitowl and Etteronos have a unique way of obtaining different forms. As part of the Pokemon's lore, it is only found in the wild in its Captive Forme. If bred, you can obtain its Normal Forme, which is what the creature was like before human interference
Evolution: Alinitowl-Lv 35 during the day(Captive Forme)/Lv 35 during the night(Normal Forme)-Etteronos
Gender ratio-50/50
Egg group-Amorphous/Flying
Pokedex entry
  • Captive Alinitowl: "This extraterrestrial Pokemon was known to steal people's dreams long ago. Totems were created to bind it so they could be made to protect people from nightmares"
  • Normal Alinitowl: "Alinitowl are mischievous little sprites who spread bad dreams to those around them. Nightmares are a delicacy to these aliens"
  • Captive Etteronos: "First discovered in a swamp, Etteronos was mistaken for a Noctowl. They generate good vibes that cast all fears away from people"
  • Normal Etteronos: "The darkest nightmares are unleashed by these otherworldly invaders. Towns fell to their dominance due to insomnia from bad dreams"
Basis: This two-stage line is based off the idea of a dreamcatcher, mixed with the Flatwoods monster. It also has owl traits, as the Flatwoods monster was based off mistaking an owl for an alien.

Poke-Archeology Idea: Basically a variant on fossils, expanding on what we see in Galar
  • Enigmazoic Eon: The equivalent of the Precambrian Period. No fossils have so far been found in this era. It takes place over 500 million years ago, all the way back to the beginning of the planet. It is believed that the oldest legendaries, like Mew and the Weather trio, first came into existence in this period
  • Pre-genesoic Period: The era of fossil Pokemon from and before 300 million years ago. Most fossils of this era when revived are Cyber Fossils, as they are so ancient that fossil revival requires cybernetic parts. This makes Genesoic Period fossil Pokemon part Steel. It is called as such because the mass extinction of 300 million years ago was caused by primitive Genesect overhunting and competing. The exception to this are Pokemon species who survived the mass extinction; these are the Pokemon already mentioned existing in that era
  • Post-Genesoic Period: The era of fossil Pokemon between 300 and 200 million years ago. This is where Kabuto survived. They have the same rules as regular fossil Pokemon, being Rock types
  • Aerozoic Period: Named after Aerodactyl. This is where Pokemon from 100 million years ago come from. It lasted between 200 and less than 100 million years ago. Comparable to the dinosaurs, and extinction was caused by an asteroid
  • Hostilozoic Period: Archeological records detect Kyogre and Groudon conflict, along with other ancient legendary Pokemon, was at its apex in this era. Takes place between 90 and 50 million years ago. Spectrofossils come from this era; they are Ghost type fossil Pokemon, due to the harshness
  • Terazoic Period: Takes place between 50 and 5 million years ago. Based off ancient great mammals. Technically the Pokemon world is still in the Terazoic Period. Any Pokemon fossil revived here is part Ground due to the more recent, "softer" fossils, not needing to be as hard as rock
  • Ice Age: The Ice Age. Any Pokemon "fossil" revived is actually revived from an icicle, and are part Ice type

A Grass-Fire 2-stage line:
I picked a random tree that resists the heat, the Arizona Cypress and just setted it on the fire or something:

- The first Pokémon is a little sentient sprout with legs, with its leaves setted on fire. The Pokémon could have a baby-like, worried expression, as it doesn't know to control the Fire yet. It's really small; you can compare its size with the size of a Bonsly.

HP: 34
ATK: 11
DEF: 51
SPA: 76
SPD: 54
SPE: 64
BST: 290

- The second Pokémon is a bit weird; it looks like the sprout has grown 5 times its original size. It has also got many, many branches, and each end of each branch is on fire. It has a confident expression, since it controls fire really well. It walks like a Trevenant, using its "roots" to move, but WAY faster than a Trevenant.

HP: 60
ATK: 11
DEF: 94
SPA: 129
SPD: 105
SPE: 121
BST: 520

Ideas for new moves:

Spoiled Pout
Fairy

The user makes a cute pouty face at their opponent, which endears them and greatly reduces their Attack stat.

Heat Up Fire

Similar to Charge, but for Fire-types; the user heats themselves up, boosting their Attack and Special Attack stats. Any Fire-type move used next will have its power doubled.

Thunder Kick Electric

The user kicks the opponent with electrified legs. Has a 30% chance of paralyzing the opponent.

Captain Jigglypuff

*On Vacation. Go Away!*
Tea Shot
Special
Ghost

Description: The user shoots out a stream of scalding hot tea at its target. Simultaneously causes Water type damage. 10% of causing the Burn status.

This is a new signature move for Polteageist which gives it a tea related damaging attack.

Neuralx, Greytexral and Psychosmix, the Space Coral, Smart Coral and Brain Coral Pokemon
Name origin: Neuron+coral+x, Cortex+Grey(as in grey matter and the gray alien)+coral, Psychology+cosmic+x.
Type-Rock/Psychic
Ability-Dry Skin/Synchronize(normal), Levitate(Hidden)
Gender ratio-50/50
Egg group-Mineral
Evolution: Neuralx-Max Friendship-Greytexral-Lv 40-Psychosmix
Pokedex entry
  • Neuralx: "This worm-like rock is a disembodied nerve, having arrived from outer space. Despite its simple body Neuralx demonstrates advanced reasoning skills"
  • Greytexral: "The cunning Greytexral disguises itself as beautiful coral to entrance its victims, before opening its band-like organ to mind control them. It's a subtle control; the victim is convinced that Greytexral's orders were ideas they came up with"
  • Psychosmix: "Psychosmix mastermind takeovers from behind the scene, either to improve society or prepare it for their race's invasion depending on their personality. Some are able to generate a shield that protects them in the water, perfecting the illusion that they are mere coral"
Basis: This is line a mix of brain coral and aliens. It takes influence from a number of the "big brain"/"super smart" alien tropes, but with some sinister attributes like the Mars Attacks aliens

Heat Up sounds cool.

Always wanted to see a Electric kicking move. It would make a good move for Pokemon like Hitmonlee, Blaziken, Zebstrika, and Electivire. A Ice variant would be nice, too.

Would also like to see a damaging Steel move that has a chance to burn an opponent, similar to Scald and Scorching Sands.

Peruvian-based Region: Dolphin take

Pintacemeo and Casamazono, the River Dolphin Pokemon
Name origin: Pink+cetacean+Romeo, Amazon+boto+Casanova
Type-Water/Fairy
Ability-Impassioned/Illusion(normal), Singer(Hidden). Singer ensures all sound-based moves never miss. Impassioned is an ability that belong to particularly attractive in-lore Pokemon, like being an additional ability for Salazzle. It is like Cute Charm, but can work on any gendered Pokemon. However its effectiveness is dropped to 20% for balancing purposes
Gender ratio-50/50
Egg group-Water 1/Field
Evolution: Pintacemeo-Lv 30-Casamazoto
Pokedex entry
  • "The dashing Pintacemeo charm prey with their wonderful music. They are as fickle as the rivers they come from, and some are known for hypnotizing humans"
  • "Some Casamazono are capable of disguising themselves as humans, though they always end up wearing hats. They are regarded as among the most beautiful Pokemon, in no small part for the allure of their human disguises"
Basis: Pintacemeo and Casamazoto are ideas for a dolphin Pokemon if a region is made based off Brazil or Peru(I imagine if South America is ever featured in a Pokemon game, it'll be one of these two countries). They are based off river dolphins, mostly the Amazon river dolphin(hence the pink). Visually they resemble mermaids, like Primarina. Their abilities and dex entry are derived from mythology and folklore on South American river dolphins. It is a handful of Pokemon considered alluring enough for the move "Love's Arrow", which is a less accurate (70%) Attract which affects any Pokemon with a male or female gender, regardless of the gender's user. This line has clear gender differences

Peruvian Early Game Pokemon

Nonshell and Nonadilo, the Nine-Band and Armored Pokemon
Name origin: Non(as in nine)+shell, non+armadillo
Type-Normal(Nonshell), Normal/Steel(Nonadilo)
Ability-Shell Armor/Battle Armor(normal), Bulletproof(Hidden)
Gender ratio-50/590
Egg group-Field
Evolution: Nonshell-Lv 20-Nonadilo
Basis: These two are based off the nine-banded armadillo, which can be found across the Americas

Kung Fu Ferret

The Usurper
I have this idea for a fake region called Ajomu (based on Kenya and Tanzania).
Name Origin: "Umoja" Swahili for "Unity", but backwards.

Starter Trio:
Hynerb: (Hyena + Herb) [Grass]->Sacroota (Sage + Crocuta crocuta, the scientific name for the spotted hyena, also root) [Grass]->Druenzy (Druid + Frenzy)[Grass/Psychic]
Roastripe (Roast+Stripe)[Fire]->Zebraize {Zebra + Braise, meaning burn) [Fire]->Mwalibra (Mwali, Swahili for "Flame" + Zebra) [Fire]
Bubblost (Bubble + Ostrich) (Water)->Strutsea (Strut + Sea, plus "Strutionum" is Latin for Ostrich)->Buntidrich ("Mbuni" is Swahili for Ostrich, Tide, Ostrich) (Water/Flying)

Early route Pokemon in Ajomu
Aardling (Aardvark + the suffix "ling" meaning small) (Normal)->Aardlord (Aardvark + Lord) (Normal/Ground)
Mingrey (Flamingo + Grey, as in the color) [Flying]->Shimenco (Shiro, Japanese for "White" Flamenco, a type of Spanish dance) (Flying/Fairy)->Discomingo (Disco, as in the genre of music associated with the 1970s, + Flamingo) (Flying/Fairy)
Rabblarv (Scarab + Larva) (Bug) -> Scaraborb (Scarab + Orb) (Bug/Rock)->Khepron (Khepri, Egyptian scarab god, + Carbon, which is what diamonds are made of)
Minimont (Mini + Monitor, as in Monitor Lizard) (Dark)->Kenglutton (Kenge, a Swahili term for large lizards such as the Nile Monitor, + Glutton) (Dark/Poison)

Money-Making Moves

Coin Loot
Type-Normal/Physical
Atk-80
Acc-100
PP-15
Effect: Same as Pay Day
Pokemon that can learn this move: Meowth line

Pearl Rain
Type-Water/Physical
Atk-80
Acc-100
PP-10
Effect: Has a chance of lowering the accuracy of the target. You gain money equal to five your level (ten times if you hold an Amulet Coin or Luck Incense)
Pokemon that can learn this move: Shellder, Spoink and Clamperl lines

Pearl Throw
Type-Psychic/Physical
Atk-80
Acc-100
PP-10
Effect: Same as Pearl Fling
Pokemon that can learn this move: Same as Pearl Rain

Name basis for new regions
  • Kupiwi: A New Zealand modeled region. Name derives from Kupe(in mythology, the first human discoverer of the region) and kiwi(the national animal and a common name to residents).
  • Moslavan: Based off European Russia, specifically the area where much of the Kievan Rus' once was. Name derives from Moscow(capital city), Slav/Slavic and Kievan
  • Kusbaste: A Peru modeled region. Name derived from Cusco(the Incan capital) and bastion
  • Levaeli: Based off the Levant. The name takes inspiration from Levant, "el" (as in "God") and Israeli
Levaeli Variant ideas

Levaeli Kabuto and Kabutops
Type-Water/Bug(Kabuto), Water/Fighting(Kabutops)
Ability-Swift Swim/Battle Armor(Kabuto), Inner Focus/Battle Armor(Kabutops), Dry Skin(Hidden Ability)
Evolution: Unchanged
Basis: The horseshoe crab may be a living fossil, but it is still a living animal. Given the very long history of the Levant and the Middle East, the idea is that the Kabuto line survived and adapted in the Levaeli region. Same with Lileep; sea lillies are rare compared to their prime long ago, but still exist. Unlike it the Pokemon switches to Fighting type to reflect its samurai traits

Levaeli Lileep and Cradily
Type-Water/Grass
Ability-Gripper(normal), Storm Drain(Hidden). Gripper means that this Pokemon has a 20% chance of trapping the opponent in battle should physical contact be made, and moves that
Evolution: Unchanged

Levaeli Poochyena, Mightyena and Maghiyena
Type-Ground(Poochyena, Mightyena), Ground/Psychic(Maghiyena)
Ability-Run Away/Sand Veil(Poochyena), Intimidate/Sand Veil(Mightyena, Maghiyena), Magician(Hidden Ability)
Evolution-Poocheyna-Lv 18-Mightyena-Max Friendship+night-Maghiyena
Name basis: Magi/Magic+hyena (Maghiyena)
Basis: The striped regional variant for Poochyena is Ground type as a rivalry to the Litleo line(reflecting the lion-hyena rivalry) and the more desert regions of the Levant. Maghiyena's typing ties into the scavenger traits of hyenas, and some folklore of the animal being associated with jinns in the Middle East, along with other magic

If I Could Change Pokemon types
  • Golduck: Water/Psychic (too obvious?)
  • Mankey and Primeape: Fighting/Dark (given their personality I feel they're one of the Pokemon Gen II could've retconned as this type and fit, it would also gave players more options)
  • Doduo and Dodrio: Ground/Flying (to make them stand out a bit more, and it's also reflecting them being flightless/grounded birds)
  • Porygon line: Electric/Normal (Porygon, Porygon2), Electric/Dark (Porygon-Z) (it's almost literally electric, and I feel this would've made getting all those coins just a bit more worth it. Normal is the general type so it can still use Normal moves STAB-wise. Why did I change Porygon-Z to part Dark? Because it's an unauthorized, glitchy mod which could be construed as sinister)
  • Mewtwo: Psychic/Dark (Dark is the evil type, and Mewtwo's background and personality fits the Dark typing)
  • Noctowl: Psychic/Flying (not really necessary, but if Gamefreak decided to buck the trend much earlier like they did for Talonflame/Corviknight I think Noctowl would make the most sense)
  • Sudowoodo: Rock/Dark (the Dark type is related to deception, which Sudowoodo does rather well by pretending to be a tree. I also feel it'd be a good idea again to show off more of the new type. Again, it's not that necessary but I think it'd help)
  • Pineco: Bug/Grass (it's both a bagworm and a pinecone)
  • Dunsparce: Normal/Ground (move-wise and even in appearance(the drill tail) it has a fair bit in common with the Ground type)
  • Snubbul and Granbull: Fighting, then Fighting/Fairy (they're not personally mean so I didn't think Dark type, but they are bulldogs and would be defensive about their owner. We also don't have this type combo. I think it would allow the Pokemon to stand out just a bit more)
  • Celebi: Fairy/Grass (I feel the only reason it's type wasn't changed was because of being iconic/nobody wanted the effort of changing a mythical)
  • Sceptile: Grass/Dragon (partly because it feels the odd one out for being the only solo-typed Hoenn starter)
  • Sableye: Dark/Psychic, possibly changed to Dark/Fairy (I never understood why it was part Ghost. Psychic comes from being based on an alien)
  • Mawile: Dark/Steel, becomes Dark/Fairy (I never got why it was part Steel besides representation. The lore behind the being its based off, being the deceiver Pokemon, this feels more appropriate)
  • Volbeat and Illumise: Bug/Fire (they're firefly Pokemon, and anything to set them out)
  • Torkoal: Fire/Water (I was thinking Fire/Rock because it's the Coal Pokemon, but I feel for a bulky slow Pokemon like Torkoal it may not afford being a second Magcargo. And Torkoal is heavily associated with steam, plus you can make the "coal used for a steam engine" with it)
  • Trapinch: Ground/Bug
  • Milotic: Water/Dragon
  • Base Castform: Flying (it's almost literally a cloud)
  • Banette: Ghost/Dark (background and creepiness fits this typing more than Sableye)
  • Chimecho: Psychic/Flying (ability is now Soundproof. Wind chimes fit Flying type)
  • Snorunt and Glalie: Ice/Fairy

Mega Sceptile already changes Sceptile’s typing from a pure Grass type to Grass/Dragon.
Volbeat and Illumise should be Bug/Fairy instead of Bug/Fire.
New forms and types for Castform
Sandstorm: Rock, Fighting, Ground and Steel
Fog: Ghost, Psychic, Fairy and Poison
Thunderstorms and hurricanes: Electric, Dragon and Flying
