You know the Eastern Exit (The Exit on the Right) of the National Park? Go out through there, there are two trainers there. The boy with the Tangela (Think he has one). Well, he's a Schoolboy. Ask for his number, and you go exploring or something. When he calls you about finding something, go to where he is and collect the fire stone.

Another way is if you've reached Kanto and are in Cerulean. Go to Bill's house, enter it. Talk to his Grandfather. He has quests for you to find certain Pokemon. One is finding a Growlithe (I think). Present him Growlithe, he gives you a Fire Stone.

Get all 8 badges, and go to fight the Elite Four. Once you've beaten them, and afer the credits have rolled, you'll end up back in New Bark Town.

Elm will call you after a few steps to say that he has something for you - go to his lab and he gives you a boat ticket.

Take that with you to Olivine City, and head on the boat. The boat takes you to Vermillion City (after you do a little side quest to find a man's grandaughter) and voila! You have the whole of Kanto at your disposal.

Is there anyone like that in G/S?

Not sure about it 'cause I play Crystal not G/S. Check the site's guide on G/S and you'll find out.

If he's beaten the elite 4, then the boat ticket will already be in his Key Items section of the item bag.

But you may as well do the elite 4 anyway - even if he's beaten them, they're good training.

Before you start, make sure you have a Pokemon that knows Surf, and another that knows waterfall. (Or you could carry with you one that knows both)

If one of your Pokemon don't know waterfall, then teach it it - waterfall is an HM, which will be in your TM/HM part of the bag.

RIGHT! Now for actually getting there! Fly to New Bark Town, and go to the right of the town - there should be a body of water there. Surf on it to the right, until you can see a piece of land below you that you can get on to.

Go down to it, and get on the land. As soon as you step out, the man standing there will come over to you and tell you that you're in Kanto - check your map and you'll see.

Next, go into the cave ahead of him, surf up to the edge of the waterfall and get your Pokemon you taught waterfall to use it - then head right at the top of the waterfall and just surf down the other one.

Go out of the cave, and you'll be on the other side. The next bit is really quite easy. Just follow the route all the way up to Victory Road.

Once you're in, you may need a guide or a map to help you through, otherwise you might get lost.

You can use that link, or check Serebii.net - see if there's a Victory Road map there.

Once you've gotten out of Victory Road, just simply head for the Elite 4 - stock up on plenty of Full Heals, Revives and Hyper/Max Potions and give it your best shot! :)

The Elite Four is in Kanto.

To get there, you need to surf westward from New Bark Town. When you hit land, a fat guy will tell you that you have just stepped foot in Tohjo, the Kanto-Johto Border. He will then update your PokéGear with the Kanto Region Map. Go on until you reach Tohjo Falls.

Simply use the Hidden Machine Move Waterfall, and when you get to the other side, you will immediately be battled by a Female Cooltrainer. Beat her, go into the house, and the old lady will give you the Technical Machine Move Sandstorm.

Take your time exploring, eventually crossing the bridge where you will battle many Trainers. When you're on the other side, continue your way to the north and you will find a Rest House. Heal your Pokémon there. Cintinue north, and you will battle a Female Cooltrainer, followed by a Male Cooltrainer, and the last Female Cooltrainer, Beth. Enter the building, and you are now officially in Kanto.

Now, all you have to do is go through Victory Road. It's quite a simple path, all you have to do is go around counterclockwise and climb the ladders. Use Strength and Rock Smash to help you get to the end easier. When you reach it, in front of you stands the Indigo Plateau Pokémon League. Save your game.

Now, inside, there is a man with an Abra who can teleport you back to New Bark Town if you're not ready to battle the Elite Four. You can only teleport back ONCE. If you think you're ready, say NO, and go on. Buy 30 Full Restores and 30 Full Heals. This should go a little over 100,000 PokéDollars, but these items will save you.

You will encounter your Red-Haired Rival after this, so be prepared. Thrash him, and go on to battle Will.

Elite Four Will:

Pokémon: Xatu (2), Jynx, Slowbro, Exeggutor

A strong Bug Type or Fire Type will get rid of him. Once you beat him, go to Koga.

Elite Four Koga:

Pokémon: Forretress, Venomoth, Crobat, Muk, Ariados

Strong Fire Types will finish him off. Once you beat him, go on to Bruno.

Elite Four Bruno:

Pokémon: Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, Hitmontop, Onix, Machamp

Since they are all Fighting Types, make sure you have at least a level 45 Psychic Pokémon on your team. When he's beaten, go to Karen.

Elite Four Karen:

Pokémon: Houndoom, Gengar, Umbreon, Vileplume, Murkrow

Use a Fire Type or an Electric Type to defeat her. Advance to the Champion, Lance.

Champion Lance:

Pokémon: Aerodactyl, Gyarados, Charixard, Dragonite (3)

To defeat Lance, use an Electric type, or have your own trained Dragon Type to go against them. Beware of Hyper Beam, though. Beat Lance, and you're the Johto Champion!

FOR FIRE STONES:

Talk to the Schoolboy on the exit east of National Park. Get his number, and he may call you to give you a Fire Stone. In Kanto, talk to Bill's Grandfather and show him a Growlithe. He will give you a Fire Stone in return. There are also some stones scattered in the route before you reach the Lake of Rage.

Well, those are all I know...

EDIT: Darn, beaten.

That's the fella. Don't worry about the Elite Four then - just Fly to Olivine, and go to the South of the town, and through some doors right on the coast, just to the left of the lighthouse.

Easy as that.

No you can`t obtain any items from the trainers you have on the cell-phone-thingie in G/S...it`s a Crystal-feature only..I think...
PS: you can obtain stone via Mystery Gift

here`s list for those who wants evolution-stones in Crystal:
- Register Picknicker Gina who is South for Goldenrod (Leafstone)
- Schoolboy Alan East for the National park (Firestone)
- Lass Dana in the route between Olivine and Ecruteak (Thunderstone)
- The Fisher West for Mahogany Town (Waterstone)

There`s also a fisher on the route East for Mahogany, but he just gave me a pokéball, so I removed him from the call-list... maybe he could give something else if i was a bit patient...
