Speculate on what you think will happen in this episode. It's obvious that Hikari will obtain a Poketch.

I think Team Rocket steals a bunch of Poketch's to sell them, and Ash and his friends have to get them back, and Hikari get's one after the group successfully retrieves them.

Preview should be up soon.

Also, does anyone know why there isn't a new episode next week?

Marina makes a cameo on a poster, that little electric Pokemon is in this episode, a Psyduck is in it, and apparently there are clowns.

Sounds like a winner.

It really does seem to be! The mere reference to Marina is just...very impressive. The anime's D/P season is actually pretty good so far. Let's just hope the writers keep it that way.

True, yet I find it sad that May hasn't been referenced once in the D/P season yet. You'd think that Ash and Brock would tell Hikari that they traveled with a coordinator once before, but they didn't say anything about May to her.

I consider that a total disregard to continuity and a slap in the face to the entire AG series. She better be mentioned down the road or at least have the two meet.

Ugh, yes. They could have had Ash at least mention May once, especially since Ash talked about Misty during AG (or I'm pretty sure he did...don't remember precisely).

Still, I'm pretty sure that May will return for some two part episode of sorts like Misty did (and she'll probably come back for an episode or two at some point as well). It'd be so stupid to never see May (or her rivals) ever again. I mean, those three are pretty popular (moreso than Marina and she got to be referenced).

Ash never once talked about Misty during AG, so what would you expect now? o.o
Not for the audience to see, anyway. It only seemed so when Misty returned for the Togepi saga, otherwise no. It'll probably be the same thing with May until she makes a return which I'm definite of she will.

This better not be the new generation of "NUUUU, WE WANT [character] BACK!" D:

Boy, the Kanto/Johto season must've had a square kick in the nads by a nailed boot in early AG then if the current situation is considered a mere slap in the face for AG.

Actually. Misty was mentioned in AG. She was mentioned in the Jirachi Movie, and Ash was saying how much he missed her.

considering they referenced gold and silver a few times in the games wouldn't it only be natural they do it in the anime, and as for the clowns...goes to locate a rocket laucher

The word 'Poketch' doesn't make me think of a watch. It makes me think of a flat, rectangular toy invented in the late 50s, which uses a combination of styrene beads and alluminium powder to create images (or 'sketches') produced via the turning of two knobs, both of which can be utilised to create horizontal and diagonal lines.
It also reminds me of Harley, but for the life of me I can't figure out why. TCH, guess I'll never know~

Anyways.
I couldn't give a 5 toed Swellow about that Marina cameo. I thirst for interaction and speaking roles, not pictures on posters dammit.
Oh-ho-ho, Gravy, you're far too difficult to please.

Though having said that, Kolink (a pokémon that I think looks like crap) actually comes across as somewhat neat in that one frame of a inevitably poorly-animated episode. I guess no matter how bad something may seem, there's always a silver lining somewhere. That Subomi ep had Koroboshi afterall.

In closing, I only have this to say: Send in the clowns. And while you're at it, I'd like a side order of Manene-based Rocketness please.
Oh, and have Hikari do something that's remotely interesting. I'm growing impatient~

I'm not saying I want May to return to the main cast, though. I'm just saying that May should be mentioned (Misty, too) or have some sort of cameo later on. I know that neither of those girls are ever going to come back to re-join the cast, especially during the Diamond & Pearl series.

Though, I would really like if the writers continued to drop little hints as to how characters from the previous movies/series/specials are doing. Nothing big, just stuff like with Marina being on the poster. :)

Actually he did. It was within the first 10 episodes of AG too, I think it was during either the Zigzagoon episode or the other one where May caught Wurmple. Ash said, "When we were traveling with Misty..." etc. to May and Max.

In any case, its more important this time because Hikari is a coordinator just like May, whereas Misty wasn't important enough to be constantly brought up since she's just a Gym leader. Why shouldn't Hikari know that Ash and Brock traveled with a coordinator before, or that they entered Contest themselves once?

Hikari would probably idolize May if they mentioned her, considering she was semi-famous at the end of AG.

Considering the entire AG saga can be branded off as filler now thanks to the writers, I don't see your point. The only difference is Ash's Aipom, Brock's Bonsly and the Hoenn Pokes on TR's team, but other than that both Hoenn and Battle Frontier are entirely bypassable.

People watching the show can go straight from Johto to Shinou and wouldn't miss a thing.

Unless the people hiring her for the promotion have no business sense what-so-ever, they wouldn't let her choose her own clothes for the photo shoot and would give her an outfit to wear. So it's hardly her fault.

I watched both episodes now and I didn't hear any mentioning of Kasumi. I can't speak for the dub, however.

Brock was talked about, however, so what makes Misty so less necessary?
And again, we can't really know if they have talked about May and their own former entering in contests since a lot happens "behind the scenes", so nothing can really be held against them.

Hikari could already be idolizing May, who knows?

She could very well easily be done with the contests in Johto and then take a trip past Shinou for all we know. Or Ash and co watch her attend the GF on TV or anything.

Now I don't get your point because it really does depend on why people watch the show. Plus, Johto in itself is really considered a filler saga, even the Orange saga as well since nothing really mattered there either. Hell, let's throw the first season into the bunch because thinking of the referations, it's really only Ash's start of the journey there's talked about now and nothing else. Considering Brock's many returns, the very first reason he joined doesn't really matter.
So for what I care, either all sagas are "fillers" or all matter. Only labelling AG as that is like seeking a poor argument to prove an even weaker point.
Even worse is that we're still post the first ten episode of DP, so trying to make a conclusion of the entire anime because May hasn't been mentioned (yet) is really awkward. Just like Misty came out of the blue, so can a reference to May.

I hope this episode doesn't end up being the same as the episode with the pokenav in hoenn. But I DO wonder when they will first meet Team
Galaxy. And, for the whole argument about referencing people, I think that mentioning May would be good because hikari can probably relate to her.

"May did it this way... May did it that way... May wouldn't have done it like that..." and bla, bla, bla... Then Hikari becomes jealous about Ash only thinking about May, yells at him and runs away... Then they re-unite and Ash says he's sorry and... Let the Pearlshipping begin! XD

Well, I guess Team Galaxy will make its first appearance now! They intercept the truck delivering the Poketchs and steal them for their criminal purpouses and then Ash comes, gets pwned, Shinji comes, pwns galaxy, grabs a Poketch and making a gesture like "get off my way" walks away as Team Glaxy disappears, Ash returns to the town, gains all the glory for recovering the Poketchs, gets one for him (or for Hikari, or both) and then leave...
