D/P needs older gym leaders...

I don't know why but I just find adults as opposed to kids or teens as gym leaders more imposing. In R/B around half of the gym leaders were older people but in R/S there was only Wattson and Wallace really. Same with the Elite 4. Besides Drake and Steven they all looked...to friendly almost, to be the top trainers around.

I gotta agree with that. Jasmine, Bugsy, and Misty types are nice and unique, but not what you expect to see as a gym leader. Maybe they just need 2 or 3 of the leaders younger...not much more....

Totally agree. I always find that I expect tougher battles when battling older gym leaders, even if it isn't always the case.

Thats extremely true.

With the older leaders, it just fits in more, because their mature, expierienced adults. While with the teenages, it doesn't seem as realistic, as they are probably less mature, and don't understand as much as the adults do. (In my opinion)

How about the earlier gym leaders being kids and the harder ones bein gadults ?

Oh, I thought you meant older GL's as in from the older games. I think they should bring Johto back; double region-ing was da bomb!!

well, old Gymleaders. more mature indeed. maybe a teen or 2, but it just makes more sense for an adult to run a gym.

I disagree. In pokémon, they have said countless times that size, age and strenght don't matter as long as you have skill. It would also be very hypocrite to pretend that older people are more powerful while you are playing as a youngster who must beat them all.
What I'm trying to say is that a kid can be a better trainer than any adult and so he/she shall have his/her own gym.
BTW if all gym leaders were the same age that'd be too boring.
Would you say that Bugsey deserves his gym less than Clair or Juan?

While that may be true, but isn't it also true that its more likely that an older trainer would have more experience in battling? I don't especially mind young gym leaders, but I agree that it would be more logical to have older ones than these Hoenn 'college' kids.

Well that depends on when they started training pokémon =P Also, most gym leaders look in their late 10s-early 20s, with the experience and enthusiasm needed for being a leader, and then some younger and some older ones. It looks pretty balanced if you ask me.

I agree, we need more old people this game, it doesnt give the same impression when fighting young GL's, they just remind me of normal trainers..

I don't really care what the gym leaders look like or how old they are. But still, I prefer young ones.

Some old gym leaders should return for this game just as fillers or special recurring characters.

Yeah, ok!
Bwuh? Wattson and Wallace weren't the only adults in R/S.

In R/S, Roxanne was a schoolteacher who looked to be in her 20's. Norman is your father for god sakes. Winona was an adult as well.

The only real "kid" gymleaders I can think of from Hoenn are Flannery and the twins. Everyone else was a legitimate adult, albeit some were younger than others. Norman, Winona, Juan, Roxanne, and Brawly are all "older" trainers. The only one who you could argue to exclude from that group is Brawly, but I always saw him as in his mid-20's. Winona and Roxanne are both older women, probably a little under 30 is my guess. I don't see how you saw them all as "kids".

However, I will agree that it would be great to have more older gym leaders. However, I don't want a majority of them being older. I think a good split would work out well. While the older trainers do have more experience, a younger trainer could just be a better trainer (I mean, you are a child yourself who is beating these people). So I think it's unfair to see the younger gym leaders as inferior just because they lack experience. It's all about skill level, regardless of age.

So would I like to see more older characters? Sure. Do I think there should be a majority of them? Nope. So I really don't care how the ratio works out, I just don't want every gym leader I face being some older dude with a serious mustache.

Yeah, I guess. But there more likely to be grouchy old hags, or jerkfaces.

WHERE IS PIDGEOT?!
i think if the leader has a certain level of unique style (misty, brawly, whiteny) i think its ok to have younger gym leaders. we do need more older gym leaders...
