D/P Pokémon Evolution

Will Pokémon evolution be different or the same?

  • Same. I want it to stay the way it is.

D/P Pokémon Evolution

Did any one notice that munchlax is in a different pose when it was evolving, than when it was battling? Munchlax also looked a little more like snorelax, too. It was sitting down and had its eyes closed. What do you think, will the evolution sequence be different, or the same? I think It will be different, with the Pokémon moving around a little. :)

Stuff.
I believe variety in sprites is very important. The more alternate sprites, the better. It seems natural that poses and such should vary. Evolution animations would be neato.

No, the male/female sprites differ in details, NOT in the whole sprite.

I think that there will be a third sprite for every Pokemon who is able to evolve. The sprite would only be seeable during the evolution or if the Pokemon needs only 1 level until it evolves. The pose of the "third" sprite would always be similar to the pose of the evolved Pokemon.

I doubt this; other male/female spirte differences were discrete, this one was completely different and shaded differently

That could be true, but none of the other females were that different from the males. For example, the male wooper had longer antennae than the female, but was in the same pose.

Doesn't mean it's impossible.

Yes, I did notice the diferent pose Munchlax was in during evolution, and I found it quite interesting. If they make shinies evolve with their own seperate sprite (Since I don't have any shinies, no evolved any because I have none), then there are 4 seperate, no, maybe 8 seperate sprites if you think about it. Female & shiny, Male & shiny, Female & shiny evolution screen, and Male & shiny evolution screen. Quite an interesting find that we've (hopefully) all noticed.

I'm reckoning they'll be loads of sprites for each 'mon. One for male, one for female, one for evolution sequence, one for when damage is taken to make it more realistic etc. I'm betting Serebii will only put the M and F (+ shinnies) sprites up though. It'd be ludicrous to have to many.

Hypnotize...
I believe that they ate making a sprite for being asleep, and using it when a pokemon is evolving is genious IMO. But, sadly, this has been discussed many many times.
