Dark. A confused type?

OK, Dark was Sp. Attack at first, am I right?
Yeah, I'm right.
Well, now check th edamaging Dark moves from the 3rd gen backwards. They are all Physical.
So, why the hell was Dark a Sp. Attack since the beggining?!

Because then it would be almost exactly identical to a ghost attack. Being special is one of the only things that separates a dark attack from a ghost attack(the other being that dark hits normal neutral while ghost doesn't affect it at all).

In theory, Dark attacks would be special, but attacks like Bite, Crunch and Beat Up are Dark. Physical, eh? And we've got torment and the like that are neither special nor physical. I guess they need more Dark attacks...

I have grown to like most if not all Dark pokemon, I hope we continue to get new moves and new pokemon (more dual types please!) for this type.

Honestly, that question, though a good one, doesn't really matter since all attacks have a physical or special version...

I think that GF mixed Ghost and Dark around, because most Ghost type attacks seems special, and most Dark attacks seem physical.

I think because when they made dark/ steel to lower the psychic type`s overpoweredness, they made dark special instead of physical so psychics won`t be as vunerable to many things such as shadow balls, steel types, herracross,etc.

At least now they have Dark Pulse for Special Dark types...but I kinda agree with you, most Dark moves seem to be physical while most Ghost moves seem to be special

But light and psychic isnt the same thing, and considering that dark is "evil" in japanese, psychic should be "good", which doesn't fit, either.

And wouldnt peole call it a "sublimal message" if good dont affects bad, and bad is super effective against good?

Because Dark in Japan is evil, therefore basing most Dark attacks on draining/annoying their opponent.
