Death Note.

Death Note aired here in Canada on YTV, a week right after it premiered on Adult Swim. The finale even aired on YTV before CN. Death Note is an amazing series, though.

Yeah I know, it was on friday's after Bleach or something like that. I wikied it.

400th post over all!

I've seen all three live action movies thanks to Viz showing them in select theatres. I had to travel 60 miles (there and back) to see them all but it didn't matter. I own the first two and I will own L's special movie when it comes out to DVD in August. <3 Actually, I prefer the storyline in the movies to the anime, mainly because I honestly don't see how Light would've won against L had Rem/Misa not been there, since Light really wasn't the one to kill L. :/

And, fyi, I live in the states. Kentucky to be exact for anyone interested.

60 miles!! I remember them being advertised over here but don't remember them being shown. They're advertising the Blood film now too. Ah cool :) What's the difference in the story lines then?

I've heard of Kentucky... don't know where it is though ^___^;;

Random thought here--I don't know if this has been asked before, but if you found a Death Note and decided to use it, who would you kill?

Me? I'd go right for Ingrid Newkirk.

Jack Thompson, Osama Bin Laden, Shigesato Itoi, all of the members of G4, the Russian dude that bought Chelsea, Uwe Boll, EVERY film critic there is, Shia LeBouf, Frankie Muniz, David Tenant, Will Smith, Whitney Houston and Rosie O'donnel.

HOLD ON.

Why? And especially, why would you kill the creator of EarthBound? Did you just hate the game that much?

/stands speechless/ Whitney? Really? o_O'

If I found a Death Note, I'd just hand it to Chuck Norris. ^^

Now, seriously, there are a LOT of Light fans around here. o_O' On another forum I go to, everyone (myself included) worship L. ^^

To be honest, I really didn't like Raito. >.> The ONE single thing he's got going for him is the hair. Maybe he could've even passed as 'attractive' if there weren't for those faces he makes. >.>

But I guess it's a matter of taste. ^^ I'm sure his fans can find something worth liking on him, even if I can't.

Itoi - I wish he'd encourage Nintendo to release the sries outside of Japan. At least the Americans have one of the games. We Europeans haven't had ANY of them.

Film critics - They WRECK the film industry. Seriously, they're worse than IGN. They moan about EVERYTHING and just do it for the hell of it. I have seen many films which i love only to find that the critics have bashed it.

Shia LeBouf - He's a dick, 'nuff said.

Frankie Muniz - His voice annoys me and he's a bigger P.A.B than Slippy the frog.

David Tenant - Long story, not going over it.

Will Smith - I can't really think of a reason, he just annoys me.

Whitney Houston - She's pretty much dead already from doing so much crack, i'd just be putting her out of her misery.

So... Because a retired game developer hasn't encouraged the unmoveable higher-ups to release EarthBound games in Europe, he deserves to die?

Dude... Everyone has different opinions. And plenty of critics say plenty of good things. Look at how many films Roger Ebert has given thumbs up to. And hey, some of them do us a favour by warning us when a film is total crap if we couldn't already tell, like many did with, for example, Shrek the Third, Batman and Robin, and North. Think about this--if I say I hate a movie you like, do I deserve to die too? Grow up.

Shia LeBouf - He's a dick, 'nuff said.

Elaborate or your reason is invalid. And if you're judging him by his performance in a particular movie, you fail. Hard.

Frankie Muniz - His voice annoys me and he's a bigger P.A.B than Slippy the frog.
Will Smith - I can't really think of a reason, he just annoys me.

Being mildly annoying isn't reason enough for someone to die.

Yeah I've noticed that! I rewatched the first couple of episodes today, but dubbed this time. I think Light's even more of a **** speaking in English haha, plus he just ponces around everywhere being angsty X'D I do quite like him all the same :S not sure why, as you say, apart from the lovely hair-do, he doesn't have much going for him! The Wammy's House guys are the best though :D

As for what I'd do with a Death Note... probably make friends with the shinigami because I wouldn't want to kill anybody >...<

Ps. has anybody checked out the band who do the second series opening; Maximum the Hormone? They're awesome!!

Like Elf said, he's retired, and the higher-ups aren't going to listen to him any time soon.

If you personally enjoyed a film, what anyone else says really shouldn't get to you. Chris Tookey missed the point of Watchmen of entirely and called it pretentious pornography, but I enjoyed it and I can respect his opinion. I don't agree, but I don't let it bother me.

David Tenant - Long story, not going over it.

Here, on the other hand, I can blatantly say this does bother me as you don't even give a bloody example.

Well, it's kinda of a spoiler, so I'll put it in tags in case anyone doesn't want to know.

Well, whenever it gets toward the end and Light thinks he's won by killing L, L had actually already wrote his own name down (to die 23 days later) so Light couldn't win. Light also tried to control his own father by writing his name in his notebook, but they had been switched and Light was tricked. This is really the only way it's different. That's at the end of the second movie. The first one only goes to when Light and L meet for the first time.

And Kentucky's on the east side of the US. ^^;

Terrorists. :/

And you people killing celebrities....that's just riduculous. You don't even know them or who they are (outside of fame). Not to mention, most of them have kids. I'm glad a Death Note really doesn't exist. :[

Ha, ha, yeah, Wammy;s boys rock! XD I wish Matt had a bigger role, though. ^^ And I loved Mello, even with the scars...or should I say - ESPECIALLY with the scars, heh. ^^ Near ended up kind of annoying me, strangely enough. o_O' Probably because it was SO clear he was FORCED by his creators to 'like L, but in disguise' and artificially created to adopt all of L's fans.

It will never happen, I tell you! Never! :D

Adding to my list of who I'd kill if I had a Death Note, probably Jack Thompson, that woman who organized the picketing of Heath Ledger's funeral {I'd have to look up her name, I forget it at the moment} and Ann Coulter {especially Coulter--she's completely psychotic and gives a bad name to the Republican party}.

And I just google mapped Kentucky to see where it was and the nearest I've been is Washington, but in America that doesn't count as near does it? Haha.

Yes yes yes to Matt having a bigger role! His design was so cool! His death was pretty sad though TT____TT haha. And Mello was way cool :D he WORKED that woman's haircut ^___^. Near... I'm undecided because I did sort of like him but then you're right about him being forced to be like L etc. And I preferred watching a crazy guy eat cakes than a crazy guy playing with toys haha. Also how did Near get places? He was always sitting down!!

Lol, I don't see how killing him could possibly do anything but worsen the situation...

has anybody checked out the band who do the second series opening; Maximum the Hormone? They're awesome!!
They do the second ending also. And yes I agree 100%, best band I've heard in a long time. :D

I'm glad a Death Note really doesn't exist. :[
That reminds me of the DN pilot chapter.

Light supporters are horribly idiotic and immature, face it, killing criminals will not stop people from having evil tendencies.
This arguement is irrefutable, and any intent of contradicting it will be seen as plain ignorance of the human mind.

It's ironic because Light is technically the biggest criminal to ever exist in the history of the earth.

EDIT: ...which makes for a great story, but a terrible role model. :)

Kamex: That what makes it so hard to like him. :/ In an attempt to rid the world of evil, he became the very evil he was trying to prevent.

Pellio: I'm glad you'll check out the movies. They're pretty awesome, definitely awesome enough to own on DVD. ^^

Yellow Torterra: Yeah, I know. The little special thing was actually kind of interesting. I think the kid was meant to be Mikami and I honestly wouldn't have mind reading more of that. And could you imagine what the DN world would do with the eraser? oO; It might make the story even more of a challenge.
