Death Note.

I thonk it's this issue where someone else gets the Death Note in the 13th manga issue, or this chapter post-Light.

Someone gets a Death Note, who Near dubs C-Kira(Cheap Kira). C-Kira is killing off people who want to be killed, like the elderly and sick, and suicidal people. Near however is not interested in this case and decides like the real L, that he will only take cases that appeal to him. A few days later C-Kira writes his/her own name in the Death Note.

Cheese for everyone!
No, I haven't read that.
How could he/she right his own name in the Death Note? When you do that, it has no effect.

I thought their were only 4 rules with the Death Note...

Did you even read the manga? Or watch the anime for that matter? Every chapter ended with a page of rules, for all 108 chapters, and unless I'm mistaken they were also shown after commercial breaks in the anime.

I just figured that C-Kira pulled a Mikami and offed himself with a pen. Besides, it doesn't strictly say you won't die, but it's "not advisable".
Also, wasn't the rule about writing your own name in in the pilot chapter? If so, it doesn't apply to the rest of the series. The death eraser didn't appear, remember?

The Death Eraser would have been the weridest thing if they would of kept it.

sorry for the double-post but I got most of the Death Note rules;
- The human whose name is written in this note shall die.
- This note will not take effect unless the writer has the person's face in mind while writing the person's name, therefore people sharing the same name will not be affected
- If the cause of death is written within 40 seconds of writing the person's name, it will happen.
- If the the cause of death is not specified the person will simply die of a heart attack.
- After writing the cause of death, details of the death should be written in the next 6 minutes and 40 seconds
- This note shall become the property of the human world, once it touches the ground of the human world.
- The owner of the note can recognise the image and voice of it's original owner, a god of death.
- The human who uses this note can neither go to heaven nor hell.
- If the time of death is written in 40 seconds after written the cause of death as a heart attack, the time of death can be manipulated and the time can go into effect within 40 seconds after writing the name
- The human who touches the Death Note can recognise the image and voice of it's original owner, a god of death even if the human is not the owner of the note.
- The person in possession of the Death Note is possessed by a god of death, it's original owner untill his death.
- If a human uses the note, a god of death usually appears in front of him within 39 days after he uses the note.
- Gods of death, the original owners of the Death Note do not do, in principle, anything which will prevent the deaths in the note.
- A god of death has no obligation to completely explain how to use the note or rules which will apply to the human who owns it.
- A god of death can extend his life by putting human's names on the note, but humans cannot.
- A person can shorten his/her own life by using the note
- The human who becomes the owner of the Death Note can, in exchange of half his remaining life span get the eyeballs of the god of death which will enable him to see a human's name and remaining lifespan while looking at them.
- A god of death cannot be killed even if stabbed in his heart with a knife or shot in the head with a gun, however there are ways to kill a god of death, which are not generally known to the gods of death.
- The conditions for death will not be realized unless it is physically possible for that human or it is reasonably assumed to be carried out by that human.
- The specific scope of the condition for death is not known to the gods of death either so, you must examine and find out.
- One page taken from the Death Note, or even a fragment of the page, contains the full effects of the note.
- Even the original owners of the Death Note, gods of death do not know much about the note.
- You may also write the cause and/or details of death prior to filling in the name of the individual, be sure to insert the name in front of the written cause of death. you have about 19 days in order to fill a name
- Even if you do not actually possess the Death Note, the effect will be the same if you can recognise the person and his/her own name to place in the blank.
- The Death Note will not effect those under 780 days old
- "Suicide" is a valid cause of death, it is not something "unbelieveable to think of".
- Whether the cause of the individual's death is either suicide or accident, if the death leads to the death of more then intended, the person will simply die of a heart attack.

am I missing any?

-When the same name is written in two or more Death Notes, the Note which was used fist will take effect, regardless of the time of death.
-If the same name is written in two or more Death Notes within 0.06 seconds, the entry is regarded as simultaneous; the Death Notes will not take effet and the individual will not die.
-If a Death Note owner accidentally misspells a person's name four times, that person will be free from being killed by the Death Note. However, if the Death Note owner intentionally misspells the name four times, the owner will die.
-The Death Note will not take effect if a victim's name is writen on several different pages. However, the front and back of the page is considered to be one page. For example, the Death Note will still take effect if the victim's last name is written on the front page and first name of the back.

There's a lot more.

Kinda makes you wonder how all that could fit on the back page of a note book.

The note never runs out of pages.

He said that it's hard to believe that all of the rules can fit on the back page, of which there are only one front and back on a death note. So it has nothing to do with the infinite number of pages.

Ectoplasmicblob

Eh.. not into that
Very interesting series. And there are so many things to love about it - the high suspense, catchy opening and ending themes, the hilarity of Ryuk, the awesomeness of L, taking a potato chip and eating it, and even Matsuda alone single-handedly makes the show. Yes, Matsuda.

YES. Matsuda *high-fives* he is so underrated :/ He's the only character I adored that didn't die xD

And yes, I agree with the OP Death Note is the best manga/anime ever. It's not to drawn out, there aren't a bunch of useless characters (you know the ones that either exist to "look cool" or bring unnecessary conflict), and it's so very unique and complicated.
And with me, characterisation lures me in even more then plot and Death Note is full of memorable, three-dimensional characters :D
