Also what about the fossil pokemon ie Kabuto,Omanyte, lilleep and Anorith.
They are extinct so surely they died. Also Mewtwo was reincarnated with a fossilised hair.

Movie 8: Lucario Dies

Pokemon don't live forever.

okay these are my opinion's

ALL pokemon can die be killed e.g shot ice beamed(except celabi)

first of all i'd say that normal pokes can all die natuarally some will live longer than others but ALL will die

As for legendaries

ho-ho
I'd probabbly go with the whole phoenix thing though i reckon if you kill it during its reincarnation then it's gone for good

Lugia
tricky but I'd be inclined to say that it has either an infinate natural life
or as shown in the anime it's a whole spescis

Legendary birds/mammals
i really don't know but i think that they're extremally rare types of pokemon just with extremmely long lives and that they do have to reproduce to survive

mew
allright this one's complicated. I i think that mew is a spescis of pokemon that exists as a physical manistation of the relationship bettween poke's and humans. what this means is that in anient times the two races existed in perfect harmony but over time people began to mistreat pokemon and this caused the mew's to die out. infanct thaanks to TR they're now almost extinct.

groudon/kyrogue/rayquasa
I think that thease 3 litteraly are the planet one is the ground one is the sea and one is the air they will live infinita lives for aslong as the plannet exists if the plannet goes they go. but if one of them is destroyed then their part off the plannet would slowly dissapear(the land would expand or the sea would close in upon it).

lati@s
simmilar to legendary birds/mammals but live for considerablly longer.

Celabi
The living embodiment of time now unlike Grou/ky/ray they cannot die because they're are imprinted allover time they would simply come back again from the past only way they're going anywhere is if you take away time.

and i haven't the foggiest about the rest

What's the buzz?
Yeah, Pokemon do die.
They don't die when under attacks, but they do suffer.
But at least they can make SOME point about a Pokemon dying. I've noticed a few episodes talk about human death.

Yeah, that was sad. I felt myself crying inside. Wait, you saw the movie?

Ash was turned to stone in the first movie remember. When he tried to stop the fighting mew and mew2's attacks hit him turning him to stone. Then the tears of the pokenmon revived him and all the fighting stopped but Ash doesn't remember because mew2 erased everybody's mind exept Giovanni's.
Edit: That was a bit off topic so on topic is that Lugia almost died but was then brought back. Yes there are deaths in pokemon.

In....Um, I thikn something to do with Mountain Peaks? (Not sure), you know that woman who stands on the edge of the cliff waiting for her husband who went to war and never came back, to well come back? Well she was a ghost wasn't she? After been there for 200years (Or did she become stone? Can't remeber), and since her husband never came back, it too obivous he died in the war.

All good things must come to an end... and I guess that includes Pokemon. *sniff* I don't think yours can actually die in the game, they just age.

I've been resisting the urge to post here, but now it is time.
Yes, Pokemon die.
Trainers make a big deal when their Pokemon are in the pokemon centre because the Pokemon are suffering greatly.
Examples of Pokemon dying:
Charmanders die when their tail-flame is extinguished
Butterfrees die after mating
Death of Latios and Rucario in their movies
Death of trainer's Onix in Sevii Islands
Ghost of Marowak in Lavender's tower.
Examples of Pokemon cemeteries:
Lavender Town Pokemon Tower
Mt. Pyre
Onix's grave

There, Pokemon die, end of story.

If anyone has ever read the Shonen Jump May edition it shows something about using energy and how to control it. It is in the Naruto comic, how using energy makes you lose energy, but in pokemons case when you get attacked by that energy you lose energy, people dont understand this alot of times, but pokemon just faint in the games. No pokemon ever dies in your party.

The one and only.
Well, sadly put, pokemon do die. The two resting places for pokemon, and if they didn't, then in the games/anime/manga, there wouldn't be enough room for people. But, they do die. A sad thought.

...NINE-THOUSAND!!!!
too lazy to read 4 whole pages, sue me

this may be nothing but a hunch... but I think Jirachi has the longest lifespan

If pokemon are immortal then where did those fossils come from?

It's called Mt. Pyre/Lavendar Tower.

What about the dead Marowak on R/B/FR/LG?

And if Pokemon live forever, then why the heck did they say that an Absol lives for 100 of years.

Well, what about Mew, the ancestor of all Pokemon?

Somebody mentioned the comic early - that was traumatic! Not only did they show Giovanni having a frozen Pokemon blasted apart, there's another scene where an Arbok gets sliced clean in half. Ouch.

Your Pokemon don't die. The other's have dying Pokemon and there is a cemetary Mt. Pyre for example.

As the others do mentioned, pokemon do die. If not, why did Mt.Pyre or Lavender Tower exist??
