I just ran, I ran all Night and Day ~
Since Episode 50 is being worked on Fujisaku, Episode 51 might be Tomioka and this one could be Aya Matsui's. Their last episodes prior to this were all coincidentally in sequence and it's been quite a while since either of them have written an episode.

- Episode 37 (Matsui).
- Episode 38 (Fuji).
- Episode 39 (Tomioka).

Aya Matsui always writes for Chloe/Koharu Centric Episodes so I believe this one will definitely be written by her as well

If Episode 51 is indeed Tomioka then it may likely be a PWC centered Episode. Which makes sense considering that's it's been quite a while since the PWC was last brought up

What do you guys think?

That the writers couldn't care less about the PWC for 10 freaking episodes that they're not even bothering to use one-minute battles?

5 of those episodes was the Darkest Day arc, one of those episodes was the Mewtwo episode, two of the episodes were to provide a break, and the 2 episodes before it were just episodes leading into a major arc and one of which was focus on the battle with Zapdos.

So no, it makes perfect sense that we wouldn’t have the PWC battle for a bit.

They could have easily snuck in the cheap battles prior the plots of any of those episodes.

That episode was meant to focus on Mewtwo, regardless of how you feel about it, they weren’t going to put a random PWC battle on there because the episode to be Ash and Go mainly exploring the island and running into Mewtwo.
Goh caught stuff in there.

I don't think Ash couldn't have had a PWC match at the beginning before being sent to that place.

Again, the writers can totally sneak in those cheap battles anytime they want, but it feels like they completely forgot for 10 episodes. (And now it's starting to look like Goh is the real protagonist.)

Difference is they were on a island that had Pokémon on it , so it makes sense that Goh would catch some Pokémon there. Ash and Goh were mainly in the lab when they were not on the island so no they couldn’t have included a battle.

They didn’t forget about the PWC for 10 episodes they just chose not to include so that the episodes could focus on other things.

Plus there not being PWC for those episodes doesn’t matter because if there just quick little battles then they could just include multiple of them in future episodes which would easily make up for not having PWC battles for 10 episodes.

Heck for all we know Ash’s next PWC battle could be against a more major opponent and that winds up being one of the reason they were delaying it.

That would make sense.

46- New timeslot introduction + boys dreams
47- Low stakes episode after 5 heavy episodes
48- Showing off the ace's new personalities
49- Koharu
50- Goh?
51- Ash PWC battle/ progress

They could very easily have ash just return to the lab at the start of the episode saying he just came back from a PWC battle for literally any of the episodes. Which only would take literally seconds. It’s not like all the episodes that had a PWC battle before really focused on it for a good part of the episode.

But no, it’s been completely forgotten and ash might as well be in the ultra tier by the time it’s brought up again.

No it hasn’t, look just because we haven’t had a PWC for a certain amount of episodes does not mean they forgot about it. Those battles that only take a few seconds can easily be made up anyway it’s not a big deal.

If anything this just complaining just to complain about something because if we had gotten a PWC battle then the complaint would have been just about the Pokémon Ash used for it or how it was handled instead.

This isn’t that much different then back during Sun and Moon when some people were complaining about how long it was taking for Ash to do the next trial, and likewise with the gym battles in some of the previous series.

So then why don’t they do it just so people don’t forgot the PWC exist when it’s so easy to do?

lol as if that’ll make a difference since the other pokemons already barely appear anyways.

The difference is gyms or trials don’t go anywhere. Rankings are things that constantly changes and should be a constant effort to raise. Now we’re not getting the sense of progress of ash’s goal. For gyms the journey itself as long as it was IS the progress. We already had them handle the ranks badly with ash suddenly already back in great ball tier just so he can rematch bea when it hadn’t been brought up for the past episodes. There is nothing stopping them from suddenly putting ash in ultra ball tier whenever they want to talk about the PWC.

Who cares about the PWC? It doesn't really matter. As Dragonsoldier said, the rank raises and lowers whenever the writers want by however much the writers want as a way to build up some kind of tension, no matter how... flimsy? False? nonexistent? said tension is. I think we can afford to ignore it for a couple episodes. All that matters is when will Ash be at Master Rank and how much longer until he's there?

Ye tbh that’s really what matters here, when’s the big day when he hits the top 8. Everything else is just a nuisance really.

Well if there was any doubts, this should confirm things. Apparently the new poster leaked early. Yay for my girl Koharu joining the gang and being a trainer <3!!!

I still have doubts about her being a trainer still...

Maybe the Eevee just follows her around/lives at home just like Yamper
